  1. Day 12 (Monday): I’m almost ready to prematurely claim I’ve quit smoking.

Currently, I think 30 days is the right amount of time. If I’m still wondering if it’s long enough after 30 days, maybe 90 would be better before making the claim.

I hope everyone who gave me tips here realizes how important you are to my quitting process. I couldn’t have gotten this far without you.

    Thank you,

    -Cantus

  2. Donobieus:

I think it’s an excellent set up.

I’m glad you bought a few different flavored liquids to find ones you like. If you don’t want to pull the tip off the atomizer every time you drip, pick up a drip tip too. You can drip through the opening.

    Edit: Yup. What fran1959 said.

  3. Donobieus:

I’m a new Joye eGo convert.

Someone recommended the Liquinator tank from vaporescence.com to me. I wonder if the Liquinator tank and a USB pass-through battery are the keys to trucker vaping?

I know the eGo and pass-through work for me at home. If the Liquinator works as well as they say it does, it might be an all day drive, maintenance free combination.

    Thanks,

    -Cantus

  4. A regular cigarette is roughly 1/4” in diameter. An eGo battery is about twice as big at 1/2”.

From the battery to the end of the cone, the eGo is about as long as a regular cigarette. Add on a drip tip, and it’s that much longer. Maybe it’s as long as a 100.

I’m a recent e-cig convert, and it took about a month for me to go through 3 steps to make the switch.

    1. Buy an e-cig starter kit (any kit will do), and find out what you like, and don’t like, about vaping.
    2. Buy a handful of e-juices, and find out what you like, and don’t like, about the different flavors.
    3. Sell your e-cig starter kit to a friend, and buy a Joye eGo to use with your favorite e-juice flavor.

Like I said, I’m new too, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I spent a month with a cigarette sized e-cig just to get used to vaping. Eventually, I realized I wanted a better vaping experience more than I wanted a device limited to the size of a traditional cigarette.

  6. Day 8 (Wednesday): “This used to be harder.” The last time I tried to quit smoking, it was very difficult. I had constant cravings for cigarettes.

This time, it’s much easier because the e-cig tastes better than a “real” cigarette. I seriously feel like the caterpillar in Alice In Wonderland for smoking my e-hookah from the pass-through battery.

“How doth the little crocodile improve his shining tail. And pour the waters of the Nile, on every golden scale. How cheerfully he seems to grin, how neatly spreads his claws. And welcomes little fishes in, with gently smiling jaws.”

If you’re smoking in my line of sight, you’re in the same position as the little fishes.

  7. Da-da! Da-daht, da, de-dah!

Day 7 (Tuesday): “Take this analog…and shove it.” I ain’t a smokin’ here no more. Yeah, it’s only been a week, and I’ve had cravings, and my attitude toward the cravings is pointed in the vaping direction.

My girlfriend has my other eGo, but she’s still smoking. I walked through the living room today and asked “is something burning?” She said “No, I’m just smoking a cigarette.” I politely asked if she had accidentally dropped some wet hair in her ashtray off the rear end of a mountain gorilla.

She didn’t respond, and I’m going to guess the answer was no. I’m probably smelling things a little differently than I did last week…and I don’t see a lot of cuddling in my immediate future.

    Still, thank you all,

  8. The owner of Gulf Coast Vapor is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He helped me spec out my first “real” e-cigarette (Joye eGo) after experimenting with a cigarette sized device.

I bought DIY supplies from Gulf Coast Vapor because I wanted to have VG, PG, nicotine and pipettes around to modify prepared e-liquids from another supplier. My order arrived in record time (ordered late Thursday night, and my package was here Monday morning), and everything I ordered was firmly packaged in the box.

So far, I’ve used the 24 mg/ml PG base liquid nicotine, USP Kosher FCC Grade VG and a pipette. This is my first experience with 100% VG, and it’s pretty thick. I didn’t dilute it with water, because it only made up 25% of my recipe. 50% came from the liquid nicotine. I expected the nicotine to be cloudy for some reason, so I shook it up to make sure it was mixed. The liquid nicotine stayed clear, and I added it to the mix. The remainder was the previously purchased e-liquid.

The resulting mixture seemed to have a bit more vapor, and it probably has more nicotine. Overall, the products I received are higher quality than I expected, but I don’t have much experience with these products yet. The delivery time was outstanding, and I do have a lot of experience ordering products over the web.

My order was accurate, high quality and shipped immediately. Since I’m new to vaping, what can I confidently say about Gulf Coast Vapor? You should try them. If you need help, you should contact them.

  9. Day 4 (Saturday): “Take Your PV To Work Day.” I worked a few extra hours Saturday and found every excuse to show my new eGo to the smokers. I used it every hour because I had it in my pocket. I set a bad example. I set a bad example by using it too often…not by using it instead of cigarettes.

Day 5 (Sunday): “No smoke for you!” I didn’t smoke or vape on Sunday. I parked myself on the couch. I turned on Netflix, and relaxed. I’m going to be at work up to 60 hours per week, 6 days per week for the rest of August. I decompressed with a lot of humor a very few stimulants.

Day 6 (Monday): “The big hole was hairy.” I took my PV to work on Saturday, and I kept it in my jeans pocket. When I went to use it today, the drip tip opening was coated with a fine layer of pocket lint. I rinsed the drip tip out, and we resumed vaping. Do I have to carry my eGo in the case to prevent pocket lint form accumulating in the drip tip?

  10. Day 2 was pretty easy. I only smoke between the time I get home from work and bed time. I didn’t want to try an analog, and the PV was still amazing.

Um…day 3 was different. I wanted to light a cigarette, and my eGo tasted different to me. The cigarette monster was knocking at my door for an hour and a half to two hours. I didn’t answer, and I think he went away for a while.

  11. 8:05 PM PST. Top of the next hour has come and gone.

I’m still not tempted in any way to reach for the cigarettes in front of me. I intended to compare a cigarette to the Joye eGo, but it’s not happening tonight. Maybe I’ll feel differently tomorrow after work.

My Sweetie hasn’t taken the past month to get used to the idea of a PV. I’ll keep the spare around, charged and available. Who knows? Maybe she’ll like this one.

  12. It’s been about 2 hours since I charged my new eGo. For now, the eGo, with Tasty Vapors “Geoff’s Blend” 24 mg liquid is BETTER than a regular cigarette.

The analogs are right in front of me. It makes sense to me to smoke a “real” cigarette to experience the difference tonight. I just don’t want one.

Last night, I tried to prepare by restricting myself to only smoking one analog every hour and vaping my Health e-cigarette in between. Last night, I couldn’t wait for the top of the hour so I could have a “real” cigarette. Tonight, I’m trying to talk myself into smoking a “real” one, and I’m losing the argument.

I’d like to tell you about the differences, but it’s not going to happen tonight. It doesn’t mean I won’t smoke tomorrow when I get home from a stressful day at work (I haven’t smoked at work for years). It doesn’t mean I won’t reach for an analog next week. I just have to say again, the Joye eGo you recommended is so wonderful, I don’t want a cigarette right now.

    Thank you,

    -Cantus

  13. My first impression is “I love the eGo!” Thank you all so much for the recommendation.

Compared to my original Health e-cigarette, the eGo produces clouds of vapor…and consistent clouds of vapor. I’m dripping this one and haven’t tried the supplied, prefilled cartridges yet.

It’s just a classy looking piece of electronic gear too. The cardboard package is even held closed with magnets. Classy, I tell ya!

Without the drip tip, the eGo is about the length of my original e-cig, but the eGo is twice the diameter at the battery. I don’t know I would have been as interested in the eGo without first trying the analog sized e-cigarette. The Health e-cigarette let me get used to the idea for a month.

The eGo batteries came mostly charged and only needed 15 minutes each on the charger before the light turned green. On the down side, one of the cones drags a little when screwing it on or off. The cone threads look fine, but the battery threads don’t look as clean.

My girlfriend, who purchased, and then would not use, the original Health e-cigarette kit, just ran off with one of my two eGos after 1 puff. I think the last sentence says more than everything else I wrote tonight.

Thank you all so very much for your help,

    -Cantus

  14. LOL. I did a poor job of describing those positions.

When I said “filter up”, I meant the approximate position a cigarette would sit in an ashtray (30 degrees or so up from horizontal). “Filter down” was supposed to be the opposite with the filter end resting on the bottom of the impeccably clean, and unsoiled, “ash” tray.

I still get to use an “ashtray”, don’t I?

    Thanks,

    -Jim

  15. Robert from Gulf Coast Vapor spent several hours of his time on the phone helping me make selections.

I called him because he posted here. He walked me through the available choices, and I can’t thank him enough for his help.

Pretty much, he recommended going here to buy this, there to buy that and to the other place for the final part. I decided to buy the bulk of the items from vaportalk.com for putting me in contact with such great support

Thank you all, one more time,

    -Cantus
