Adding Eliquid

I'm new to ecigs, today actually :) How often do you add liquid to the cartridge? The one that I put on the ecig today was a filled cartridge and I haven't used it all that much, maybe like 2-3 cigs worth. I just wonder how often others put drops in. Thanks

I don't know where to start, but the smart folks will be here soon A regular cart is only about 2-3 cigs. Then drip a bunch into the cart until it kind of puddles up on top. And that's too much. But if you flip it over and jam it home, and vape, you will get rid of the excess.

The smart people will be here soon in regards to dripping, blue foam, fluvil, cartos, etc. I know it sounds confusing, but the good news is, you are starting when the options and the experience is just starting to really open up.

Thank you Joe. Yes, these things are really taking off lately it seems. Maybe its a good time to sell them. I can tell that these really get people off smoking (is "analogs" the word lol)

I received my kit in the mail midday today. I didn't have a real cig for 8 hrs and I was a 2 pk/day smoker. I do notice some withdrawal though. I snapped at my teen daughter earlier and she said "what was that" I know what it is. Should I not be stopping cigs cold turkey and going straight to ecig? I feel like I'm in a cloud like and not myself.

Oh, what do you mean by "jam it home" (lol) with overfilled liquid?

Thanks

Okay, dayvape is not helping. The joke is many of the mall places advertise that a cart is a pack of cigs. More like 2-3 as I stated. second, what strength juice did you get? That definitely sounds like not enough nic based on symptoms. You can get off it if you want, nicotine withdrawal only lasts a few days (approx 10) but you should always start out with what makes you comfortable and it sounds like you're low. Having said that, the goal of most folks here is to stop smoking, not to stop the nicotine and there are plenty of good arguments that nicotine in and of itself is not that bad.

My rule is, unlike any other method to quit smoking, this one should be almost effortless (relatively speaking). So if you need to grab a smoke or three while you figure out what's not working, DO IT. One less cigarette is good, more better, none is the goal. Plenty of folks here still have a couple during the day and that is okay. I've tried every method of quitting out there, if you can have three cigs a day coming off two packs, how cool is that? in what other alternate reality could that have happened? Unlike a diet, there is no failure here, figure it out, ask for help and move on. Make sure its comfortable for you but that does take experimentation.

And where is my help, noob vids, cartos, fluval, blue foam, direct dripping <-- in fact go to the store and look for this. Nice set of instructionals the founder (Christopher) put up. yeah - he's tough to look at, but worth while. hahahaha - just kidding Christopher.

Site is here just in case you didn't realize the hotspot is under the word "this"

You're very good at writing Joe. That helped alot. I know I can stop smoking, it's mind over matter. And with a little nicotine from ecigs, I'll be fine eventually. You asked what strength I am using, don't laugh but it's 24 mg. BUT, I don't think I've had enough liquid in the chamber throughout the day either. At first, it seemed good, then later I started feeling odd. Cloudy kind of. I just dripped a few drops and it's much better. Yeah, I did read that a cart lasts for like 15-20 cigs, which is why I was like..omg, this isn't gonna work. I see that a crock of BS.

So, if I feel I need to smoke a few initially, I will and I guess I can't look down on myself as a failure in doing so. I will eventually go to total ecig because I'm doing this for my health and many other reasons, my kids, the smell, the cost, the stigma smoking has labeled nowadays, etc.

Thanks and again, you helped me better understand how everyone is different with this. The place is kinda like therapy I guess :)

We have people her doing 48mg so I ain't laughing. If you think its not enough, go a little stronger. If its too much (dizzy), then back off. It doesn't have to go to waste either, get 36, too much, get 12, mix evenly and you have 24 again. Oh by the way, I didn't answer one question. When I was doing the regular polyfill carts, I would drip the juice in to refill and if it puddled up, then it was too much. Either dab it off, or jam the cart back into the atty and vape that excess away. Also, long slow draws are what you want. This is not fire so you have to give the atomizer time to vaporize the juice and let more take its place.

Speaking of juice, and I'm really stalling for the experts to show up, wordupecig has quite the selection depending on your taste preference. The absolute best is here in the vaportalk store (IMHO). There is a thread here onpeople calling out there favorite juice suppliers. I like wordup because for beginners they have free shipping and a pick five 5ml bottles for $21.

You know as much as anybody else FT--You did a very nice job explaining !!!! see people really do read your posts, and I think that is one of the longest posts I have seen from you---way to step up !!!

Hey Lori--we are all nuts so therapy is a good choice of words. Welcome and glad you have found us, and very glad you are asking questions.

Personally--I was able to Unintentionally quit the day after I got my 510 and haven't looked back. But I did feel very foggy and kinda lethargic for about 2 weeks with occasional cravings. I thinks its all the misc chemicals found in cigarettes that caused most of the withdrawal. When I had cravings I would grab my 510 and vape away. I don't think the thing left my hand for the first month(maybe 2).

You sound like you are getting the hang of adding liquid to the carts. you will notice the vapor and flavor start to drop off, when you get to the burning flavor--its way too dry.

Definitely don't stress over smoking--I promise it will happen naturally. It just takes a bit to get the hang of things......

The link FT posted is very helpful.

If you are still unsure, keep asking. We really want you to succeed. Vaping really is life altering !!!

Happy Vaping

I would recommend direct dripping. It's a little more time consuming, but gives you the most flavor and vapor. It's something to look into. Happy vaping, I'm sure you'll kick that old habit in no time!

Thank you kitsune. Yes Joe was a tremendous help answering my questions and explaining things.

I'm getting the hang of this but I do know that I need to get battery chargers of different types such as a passthrough and a PCC. I use the computer alot and will be driving 650 miles in a few weeks. Does the passthrough work with a USB car attachment?

Where can I get the best price for these things? I'm currently unemployed and things are tight.

Thanks

Lori

FYI - I think the v4l cartos are 901 style so stay away unless you get an adapter, its not real clear on the website. I should have them in my hands today. Sorry for not being clear (where are those experts?).

Correct... they are KR808's... same threads as a 901.

My bad... I shoulda said something to you too I guess.

You have adapters I'm sure though, yeah?

Most passthroughs are around $15. Yes, you can get a car adapter to use your passthrough in the car. Be sure to get a 2 amp adapter like the one here:

http://www.madvapes.com/USB-Passthroughs_c_17.html

This link also has their passthroughs on the same page so you can look at those. I've done some looking and most places are the same price on the passthroughs, but here you can also get the adapter and that would save on some shipping if you get both in the same place. I've ordered quite a bit from here and they have really good service and products.

ya- not too worried.

Lori, you area 510, right? If you're at the computer you can try some cheap passthrus. maybe like these:

http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/Joye-510-520-Pass-Throughs-Joye-510-Pass-Throughs.htmhttp://www.shop.wordupecig.com/Joye-510-520-Pass-Throughs-Joye-510-Pass-Throughs.htm

Some of these are 5V which means they won't work too good off the PC, but if you use something like this you should get a good jolt from it though it does depend on the output of the adapter. You'd have to see if someone here knows for sure or email wordup. There are plenty like this out there.

http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/USB-AC-Wall-Charger-Adapter-with-US-plug-USB-AC-Adapter-with-US-plug.htm

Now some of the passthrus are 3.7V which I think means there is a rechargeable battery in the line. I believe what is really happening is the battery drives the pcc and the USB recharges the battery. There was a discussion around here on that very item

http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/USB-Cigarette-Lighter-Adapter-USB-Cigarette-Lighter-Adapter.htm

I believe you could also use this with that setup, it says not to but I assume for charging the battery on the 3.7V models it would be fine but not okay for running the 5V passthru.

http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/USB-Cigarette-Lighter-Adapter-USB-Cigarette-Lighter-Adapter.htm

It could also be used to charge a PCC, battery, cell phone, etc. The PCCs are great, but if you have two batteries, you can always be charging one while using the other. I have 510 chargers that run off a USB like this

http://www.shop.wordupecig.com/USB-Battery-Charger-USB-Battery-Charger.htm

Too much info, hopefully it correct info?

If it was me, I would look at an ego battery. About $40 for one for the battery/cone and a $10 charger (special fast USB charger just for the ego). Or you can use a little attachment that will let you charge it on a regular 510 charger. 510 attys work on it, battery lasts a long time.

Yes, I have a 510. So, am I to understand that the passthroughs hooked to the computer USB don't work well? Are you saying to use an outlet charged passthrough instead? If I do that, I'd have to get both usb for the car and plug in for the house. Is that right?

With the PCC, I do have two batteries so I can keep one charging all the time which is good.

Perhaps when I have the money, I'll invest in the ego battery. I read that they can last up to 2 days?? Is that right?

NEVER too much info! :) Thanks

Many computers don't put out too much juice on their USB ports so it would be tough or even impossible to run the 5V passthru (the one without a battery) so I think most folks use a wall charger like the one nana pointed you to. I believe the 3.7V actually runs off the battery and the USB connection is purely to keep the battery charged, I think you can even unplug it and still use it. So that's fine to charge off a computer or even off the car charger (I think). These are just options to get a passthru out of the house and into a car.

If you want a PCC for the car than you can pretty much ignore the car charger. Yes you can charge one battery while using the other on the PCC. They can be had for about $20 at various places. The PCCs usually re-charge via a USB connection so make sure it's charged before you leave or...get a car charger (hahahaha).

nana said she liked madvapes, shipping is reasonable and they have PCCs. I sued a PCC for quite a while, very nice device.

There are several kinds of passthroughs. A 510 passthrough with the inline battery will work on the USB port of your computer. A 510 passthrough without an inline battery runs at 5v and doesn't work on all computers. I have a netbook that it will not work on. If you get the 5v type, it would be advisable to get a USB to wall adapter so you can plug the passthrough into the wall. I also have the VP/PT which is a 5v passthrough you use a wall adapter for - which comes with that passthrough. The passthrough with the battery can be used without be plugged in at all. It's charging when it's plugged in, but you can also use it while it's charging. It can be charged with a wall adapter, on the USB port, or with the car adapter. The passthrough without a battery inline can not be used without being plugged in.

They got you pretty covered on the passthroughs and adapters--The 510 passthroughs do well on the computer usb or with a wall adapter, personal preference.

for long commutes as budget allows the PCC is great for out and about and backups. the passthrough however is the best for driving.

Changing attys and carts--

1. atty's lifespan does vary a lot. I have found that if I don't let them get too hot and let them cool down a bit. Either it will just not seem to be working as well or will just stop working (always have a back up with you).

2. the carts can be use for quite awhile. When the filler seems a bit thick and discolored you can take it out, wash it and reuse it. refilling cart with liquid and pushing filler into the liquid then fluffing back to top of cart, top off with a couple drop and vape as usual.

3. My personal favorite is the blue foam form strictly ejuice: https://strictlyejuice.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_49&products_id=222&zenid=0n63fc5mreoc2omn6b1vm3v1i2

If you look at the bottom of the website page, it shows you how to use the blue foam.

4. I use a combination of carts and dripping. When I need a bit of kick, I drip 1-2 drops to the atty and keep my carts filled.

Happy vaping
