blueExcess Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I'm handy(ish) with a soldering iron and have fixed this thing before, but now it's something with the board and not sure what to do. So the thing broke in half a while back, exposing the board and terminal that makes contact to the battery. Apart from popping apart sometimes, it's been working fine. Yesterday it stops working. The screen goes on when I press the button but the atomizer won't heat up - unless I move the two pieces about, and then randomly the screen will flicker and everything works normally. I take a hit, release the button, and then without moving the pieces I press it again and nothing happens. What has gotten the best results so far is to twist 30 degrees and give it a shot, twist and press, etc. My best guess is that it's a short of some sort between the contact plate and the atomizer, but I can't figure out how to get in there to take a look. I can see that there's wires soldered to the contact plate (which I can also pop out) and I have limited access to the bottom of the board. Any suggestions? And replacing it is not a suggestion. I've gotta make this damn thing work until I finish this contract and get paid, which isn't for another two or three weeks. Thanks in advance!
Compenstine Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Sounds like the pin is not making good contact with the atomizer/tank. Try pulling up the pin on the Zmax just a tad with a paper clip or small screwdriver. Be careful not to pull it up to far though.
