  1. I'm using cartomizers I purchased from Heavengifts. They're snug around the cone but I have no problems at all using them, they're plenty long enough. Love the RY4 cartos!
  2. I've been vaping for about a year and a half now, started with some older style 3 series thing, progressed to cartomizers from ecigs.com, and also tried the pipe, Ruyan E-cigar, a couple different types of throw-away cigars and my last buy (until now) was the 510. Only had the Ego for a few hours now, but I couldn't resist putting something up here, 'cos I'm already mighty impressed! I ordered the Ego, a few different bottles of juice, and a few different flavours of cartomizers from Wayne at Heavengifts. I ordered on the 15th, and received it today (21st). In my opinion, this is fantastic, considering the goods came from China. Very well packaged, too. I threw a battery into the charger, it was charged in less than an hour.... Great! I attached a RY4 cartomizer, using the supplied attachment (the Ego is actually set up for the 9 series atomizer, but the attachment lets you use the KR8081-D cartomizers). First few puffs were a little rough, but then I was getting huge clouds of vapour, pleasant and smooth tasting with that lovely sweet aroma, almost like a hint of honey. Next I tried a Kent cartomizer, again huge clouds of vapour, pleasant enough taste too. I also tried a DK Tab cartomizer. Didn't notice much in the way of flavour, but great clouds coming out with this one too. Good hit going down with all three cartomizers, an extended draw feels very similar to an analog. I took off the attachment and connected an atomizer (kit comes with two). I primed it then loaded it with a cartridge using the menthol juice. Lovely refreshing taste, in some ways similar to a menthol cigarette (but with a stronger taste, and a more limited tobacco taste). For someone who would normally smoke a milder cigarette, I reckon this would be great. This unit feels great in my hand, didn't take long to get used to the position of the button (manual operation), and I feel very comfortable holding it. The unit is a good bit fatter than the 501, but I already prefer the feel of it. IMHO, it looks pretty smart too. The unit came with a USB charger as well as a wall charger, and a few pre-loaded cartridges. Like I said, I only just got this thing, so I'm not in a position to comment on the battery life yet (manual booklet states 5-10 hours, depending on how heavy a user you are. With the 650MAh battery, I'm expecting good performance!). Same with the life of the cartomizers. This unit is more expensive than other stuff out there, but considering the type of batteries the kit comes with, as well as the option to drip/use cartridges AS WELL AS using cartomizers (fantastic when you're busy but still wanna vape!), I've already decided the kit is worth the money. I'll attempt to add to my review after I've used the unit for an extended time, but for the time being I simply have to give the Ego top marks in all areas. I'd be interested to hear comments from others who've used this unit, expecially whether you consider the Ego to be as good as I think it is! Matt
  3. Yeah, I'm still getting a nice warm draw too. I find if I press the switch for a moment before I inhale I get a better vape.
  4. I've been having the same problem as FisherPal too. Whether I drip or just top off the cart, I'm only getting about 4 good drags before I gotta do it again, otherwise I'm getting that rank burning sort of taste and smell. I've just learned to live with it and thought this must have been the nature of the 510. I've stuck with it because those drags are just really good, but it'd be great to get a few more puffs in. I thought the problem must lie with the atty and maybe the primer juice in it, but I've been using the same one for a few weeks now and nothing's changed.
  5. I got a 510 from Janty a few weeks back, I've decided its so good I bought another complete kit. I was gonna look for something different to try but I've decided not to bother. Compared to the other stuff I've tried, I reckon its about the closest you'll get to a tobacco cigarette. Good whack going down, nice warm vapour.
  6. At the risk of sounding dim, the thought never occurred to me (never actually seen one before). Had a look and found them pretty cheap at ruyandirect, so I'll be getting one soon. Thanx
  7. I've had no technical issues with the battery, just that their life is pretty short (as stated by quite a few of the forum members). I was just wondering because sometimes I've used a battery to about half its life and I'm getting ready to go to work, and I didn't know whether to take it with me, knowing it would die soon, or if it was okay to "top it up" on the charger. I've found two batteries last fine for my 8 hour shift if I use them like an analog, but they both gotta be full.
  8. Thanks guys, I've ordered a second 510 kit to overcome problems, just formulating my "action plan" in the meantime. Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the 510 overall. Just shoulda ordered a third battery to go with it.
  9. If I recharge my 510 battery before its completely run out, is this gonna result in a reduced charge/shorter battery life in the future? Has anyone done this? I know with some things like drills etc, the manufacturer says you can ruin the battery, but I didn't see anything in my Dura-C brochure telling me not to do this.
  10. I think baby wipes are the best too. Alcohol's a pain 'cos it dries your skin out. Those antibacterial gels aren't what you want either, because they won't take all the stuff off your hands, it'll just make sure there's no germs living in it. The juice that spills on the cig, I just wipe it on my clothes. I've not noticed any stains that didn't come out in the wash.
  11. Hi all, Just been reading bizzybot's tips, Great stuff. I notice that he advised against purchasing the "cartomizer" style of ecig. After my introduction to ecigs a while back (I bought something similar to a 103) I saw the cartomizers and thought this would solve all my atomizer problems. I bought an E9 from e-cig.com. I got 53 cartridges with it, all regular tobacco flavour. The thing worked quite well, I thought. I was getting the equivalent to about 12 analogs a cartridge, but you'd need to change batteries about halfway through the cartridge's life. The volume of vapour was impressive, the taste was good and there was a faint pleasant smell to it. I think I got about 2 dud cartridges from the 53, they gave that same crappy smell you get when you run out of juice in your 510. Anyhow, I thought this was pretty good, so after trying (and being fairly unimpressed with) a 701 I ordered another E9 starter kit. This time I also asked for some coffee and vanilla flavoured cartridges to go in the mix. Sadly, all bar 2 of the flavoured cartridges were duds, but most of the regular ones were fine (might be something to do with the way they add the flavour?). One of the 2 batteries lasted only a week too, so I wasn't rapt with that either. The batteries from the previous kit wouldn't hold a charge either (age certainly seems to have wearied them!). The kits were identical and from the same supplier, but I'd rate the first one as "excellent" and the second as "needs improvement". I didn't bother sending anything back, overseas postage from Australia is pretty expensive. S'pose the point of all this is, sometimes you just get unlucky (or maybe lucky, as the case may be). If anyone ever asked me whether they should get one of these, I'd say yes, but only get the regular flavoring.
  12. Hi all, Trying to work out what products to buy, can someone tell me if I need a high nicotine juice to provide a throat kick, or is this caused simply by the amount of vapour produced?
