  1. I stick to the LR atties and eGo batteries because I have many of them. And they work for me. I don't want to fuss around with other batteries and other mods because I don't want to have to switch between them. I like being consistent, even if my eGo batteries aren't quite so near at the end of their drain period. My only exception is my Mark Mod. Love that thing and the love that was put into it.
  2. I cannot recommend Sweet-Vapes.com enough! I have KickBassVapors Monkey Bread, but Sweet-Vapes Monkey Bread is so much better (imho)!!! She (Dayna at Sweet Vapes) has great coffee flavors. My favorite is Kona Cream! YUM!!!!! Other folks have reviewed her vanilla flavors (see sub forum here on VT, near the bottom) and while I haven't tried them, I'll bet they're great. Good luck and vape on!
  3. Sharon, does this apply to my seventh grade (12, 13 year old) students as well? Erika, you're doing great!!! Love ya!
  4. Possibly, but hold onto it with something other than your fingers or you might burn yourself from the metal getting hot.
  5. I've stayed the same weight. But I can run easier. Over the summer, I plan to kick up the run training (Detroit Half-Marathon on Oct 16) and will hopefully see improvements in strength, speed, etc. This will be a better summer for it as in years passed because I won't be smoking icky sticks.
  6. Sometimes that happens. I hate it when it does. Try giving it a spin with the threads down. Take a larger plastic baggie, put the carto in with a bottom rubber plug in (it came with the carto) on the thread side (which is where it was before you removed the plastic wrapper), put that end down into a corner of the baggie, and swing the baggie around rather quickly for a bit. That'll bring the liquid to the bottom. Then, pop the white bit off at the mouthpiece (you may need to use a paper clip in the hole, or a fingernail on the side to pry it up), and see if you can drop a bit more liquid on top to make it look like a slushy or slurpy. Don't overfill. Or try not to. Leave it sit for a while, if you can. Then attach it to the battery and see if it works any better. Sometimes, even that won't work and you just have to try a new carto. I know it sucks, but hopefully it doesn't happen very often. And it shouldn't. Also, see if you can get a paper clip that you've unbended down threw the hole a bit. It may just be clogged up. Wipe with a napkin or paper towel. Good luck and vape on! Let us know what other questions you have. ps... this is assuming you have a carto with silver threads and has a hole down the middle when you pop off the white mouthpiece.
  7. And this is why VaporTalk is _the_ place for all of you vaping needs.
  8. Well, your review just solidifies for me that my purchase of the VapeMate was my best choice. Thanks!
  9. Jeff, it may be a rapid charger, but that does not explain away the fact that they both have written on them the same thing at the part where you screw the battery in, you know? Does your fast charger say something different?
  10. I pulled the trigger yesterday and ordered a VapeMate. As I was taking a long drive, I realized that it would work just fine as I imagined it up above the cone. This was I also don't have to deal with a different kind of battery and can use all my eGos and the backups when the time comes. It should also fit well into the eGo carrying case I have along with spare liquid, spare atty, and spare battery. I don't think any of the wetboxes will fit. I really appreciate all of you suggesting all the things you did. I do still have my eye on the Reo Mini and that may be a purchase down the road because I do have batteries and a charger for my Mark's Mod. I just can't wrap my head around the interior looking the way it does in the other wetboxes. I know you won't see it when it's used, it's just a personal thing. For some reason this does not bother me in the Mark's Mod. Maybe because no liquid bottle goes in there. To each her own, right? Thanks again, you all are fabulous! I'll let you know how it goes after I receive it sometime early next week.
  11. So I did round two of the test. The same two batteries lost their power. I kept the same battery with the same type of charging, so battery number one was with the computer USB and the second on the wall charger. The only thing that I changed was the cord. The cord that had been with the wall charger (and says Janty on it) plugged into my computer and battery number one. It took around five hours to charge. The one on the wall charger with battery number two (with no wording on it and I may have purchased from VT) took three and a half hours. It's the cord, not the wall or USB/computer set up. The Janty one is decidedly slower. Now, here's the best thing. On that part where you screw the battery in, both cords say the same thing: Input: DC 5V 500mA Output: DC 4.2V 420mA I have definitely used the original one (Janty) more often, but it has always been slow. My original eGo kit batteries would take overnight to charge, or what I imagine to be around six to eight hours. Any thoughts those of you with technical minds? I don't really care that one takes longer, but it is a curious thing, no?
  12. I use a silver Sharpie to write on the carto what the flavor is near the thread end so I don't put my mouth on the ink.
  13. I love my liquids from Sweet-Vapes! Your review is great. I think Dayna is really onto good things with her liquids and she, and Sweet-Vapes, deserve more attention. I hope the people who win your contest love the flavors. Now, I really have to think about pineapple upside down cake. That one will be in my next order, I'm thinking, based on your description.
  14. I've mentioned this forum to my boyfriend so many times, he finally asked, "Do they ever do meet-ups?" Almost jumping up and down I said, "Why, yes, they do. And there's one in Chicago area this weekend." I got the place (Pine Grove Restaurant, Rosemont, IL), but what time to what time? It'd be a long day with an almost six hour drive each way, but maybe it's doable. Maybe.
  15. Most of us here who are vaping aren't doctors, therefore, I don't know how you expect the vaping community to deliver what you are looking for. A few here on VT are nurses. Though I'm not one of them, I am a teacher, and I do teach my students how to research. While Wikipedia may not have had the best marks in the past for their reputableness (yes, I'm aware that's not a word, but as an English major I make words up like the Bard), this information on nic toxicology is quite good. If you scroll down a bit after Toxicology, there's some very interesting insight into nicotine's (gasp) therapeutic uses. Links provided at that entry led me to an entry on electronic cigs. While ambiguous and not as thorough as I would like, it does have decent information. If you are so worried about it, I'd talk to your doctor, not some folks on an internet forum. The vendors are not practicing bad business, in my opinion, by not suppling this information. It is up to the end user to do what feels comfortable for her/himself. The FDA is not (yet) regulating these devices. And I hope they don't, ever. They really turned cigarettes into quite a debacle. Best of luck and I hope you find what works for you.
  16. Try electornicstix or vaporkings. I'm not sure if Vapor Talk sells LR. Can't hurt to check.
  17. I wish my seventh grade students had that philosophy. But I suppose it is also based on need... do they really need to explain to someone else the conjugation of verbs? No, so I don't teach that anymore. I try to get them to hear what they are writing and show them why it's wrong. No need to complicate things. Bad teacher? Maybe, but more writing = more tries to do it right = better writers. IMHO. Good job, ripple, for reinforcing what I couldn't have stated a while back very clearly. Vapor Talk forum is about so much more than vaping!
  18. Vapor Talk Mentha. Not like mouthwash at all.
  19. You know what, I was thinking about your status update where you wrote something similar and maybe it's not due to the LR. Maybe it's because it tastes so good now!
  20. Or Sweet-Vapes' Kona Cream if you like coffee with your sweet.
  21. A regular atty comes in between 2.2 and 2.5ohms (someone correct me if I'm wrong!) and a low resistance atty, or at least the ones I like, are 1.5ohms. This allows me to get the feeling of vaping a higher voltage device while I'm only using an eGo. From what I understand, LR atties will drain the battery faster (no worries if you have backups!) and go through liquid a little faster (see previous). To me, it's worth using LR atties and cartos because I love the size and feel of my eGo batteries and I don't have to get other device paraphenelia (sp?) to get the feeling I want from vaping. In the end, the LR ones have an easier draw that I find much more suited to my vaping style. Good luck and ask more questions as you have them. Vape on!
  22. That's pretty cool. What a great way to remember to vape and that you have the backing of all the folks at VT. I'm too chicken to jailbreak my iPhone, even though it's a two and a half year old 3G.
