  1. thanks for all the great replies folks!! I didnt even think about premixing the flavors as well as the nic/base. Will have to remember that one after I make my next batch. my current mix is a simple peppermint/menthol blend that uses 5drops menthol, 15 drops peppermint for a 10ml bottle. could just make up a batch of premixed flavor base as well and just mix the two together quick and easy.
  2. Hello everyone, I was sitting here thinking (yeah I know, dangerous)and got to wondering something I wanted to put out there to our resident mixologists. When buying you unflavored nic juice and such, it is cheaper to buy in high nic per milligram than lower , but this increases the caution you should use when handling it. However I was thinking say you buy your *** in pg 60 mg/ml and take your pg or pg/vg base mix and mix up a pre dilluted base at say 15 mg/ml in larger quantity. This does two things. 1. you reduce the danger of having high nic level juice sitting around as a poison hazard for children and pets. 2. you dont have to take the time now to mix your nic juice and base together. All you should have to do is measure out the amount of pre mixed unflavored juice and then add the flavors you desire for recipes you already have cooked up. Of course you wouldnt want to use this for flavor testing, but for final mixing with nic this should be a great time saver. You could also have different mixes for say pure PG, PG/VG mix, Menthol , etc. Just add the flavors you want and vape. Any thoughts?
  3. Ok Making up my mind on the type I am looking to shoot for here. I think for my first mod I am going to go with a box mod type. 18650 battery 510 connector possibly a juicebox style as well. Things I could use some help with. Where to find a battery box for 18650 batteries that will work for a mod, as well as suggestions for reliable good quality protected 18650's
  4. Nothing to really be afraid of with the mixing. You can do your tasting without nicotine. Mix up the base and flavors to get the taste you are looking for then mix in the nicotine liquid at the end if you want. no sense in wasting nicotine during the testing phase of mixing . When it comes to mixing, just work in a clean area , have paper towels for spills and wear rubber gloves (or other material if you are allergic to latex) and have fun. The nicotine juice is the only thing you really have to worry about as far as anything dangerous and if you wear gloves and are careful it is perfectly safe to handle. I do suggest that all children and pets be kept away from the supplies especially while mixing however. I constantly have to shoo the cats away from my mixing area when I am putting together a new batch.
  5. Yup, My usual vape is VT Mentha so was looking for something similar in strength to that. Probably going to order some cinnamon flavor to mix with it when I get my VG to add to the mix and see about making some mint/cinnamon juice.
  6. Well a few days on the peppermint menthol and all is going well except for this. Very little vapor on my ego even with an LR Atty. I think I need to add between 10 to 20% VG to the mix to improve things a bit. flavor ise though it is nice and minty. Here is the ejuice me up numbers. Nicotine eJuice 3.75 ml 75 drops 37.5 % of total PG 100% 4.25ml 85 Drops 42.5 % of total Peppermint Flavor 1.5 ml 30 drops 15 % of total Menthol Flavor 0.5 ml 10 drops 5 % of total
  7. wow thanks Mark!! will do, might pop into chat at some point to pick your brain a bit hehe.
  8. Hello everyone. Looking to take crack at making my own mod to vape with and need a little help sourcing the atomizer connector. I am wanting to use the 510 connector type unless someone out there has a better suggestion. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  9. I picked up my kit with 2 each of Menthol, Wintergreen, Peppermint, and Spearmint flavors. So far I have mixd up the peppermint in a really strong mix, going to see about toning it down a bit. I also want to pick up some cinnamon flavor as well. I have been putting off getting into DIY until now due to a relocation but now I have moved and can start setting up my little juice kitchen and get to mixing.
  10. I just got my order from on stop DIY shop and mixed up a batch of 10 mL's of peppermint/menthol as my first attempt and it is great, lots of menthol the way I like it and a great peppermint flavor too. Nice and cool with a good mint. Going to tweak things over time till I get it right the way I want it. Those of you thinking about DIY juice , go for it. It is really easy. just get yourself a good juice app to double chck your amounts and go.
  11. Glad you are loving the eGo. I love mine. I highly suggest getting the 900 maH batteries and maybe even the case for it as well. makes for a very handy way to carry everything you need for it as well as a couple bottles of juice on the go. I never leave home without mine now and love having a total of three complete eGo's with me in case of emergencies. I can fit a total of 7 atty's 2 bottles of juice and two eGo batteries with cones in my case. (I take the caps off the atty's to fit more in there) , as well as the fast charger just in case I want to recharge the battery when one finally goes dry. A good solid 24 hours of vaping on the go.
  12. I talked to a freind of mine last week about my new eGo and told him how much I loved it. I explained about PV's and howmch better I felt since making the switch etc.etc. Well I get a call out of the blue yesterday from him telling me he just received his eGo kit and how much he already loves it, and how his Marlboro's already taste like crap. lol. Chalk one up for the PV movement. Another convert!! I figured a tiny bit of good news amongst all the doom and gloom of the FDA debacle would be a nice change of pace for everyone.
  13. I thought about that until I realized something about the PCC's out there. They all more or less work like using one air tank to fill another. You never really get a full charge out of a charging cycle, all you really do is equalize the charge between the two batteries each time you use the PCC, with each consecutive recharge the PCC has less overall juice to give to the battery it is charging. I dont know if this would effect the batteries over time and reduce thier capacity or not but not really sure if it is worth the risk at 20 dollar a pop for batteries.
  14. That's the thing, it only happens with one battery and it hasnt happened again since that one time which is why I was asking if the charger has some sort of circuit that discharges the battery or something, it has worked fine since the first time. Only one cycle mind you . I have been using the battery all day today in fact.
  15. I have a couple of LR attys inbound right now to try out along with the larger battery. I was thinking of checking out the 510 cartos. The ones specifically for the eGo just taste off to me for some reason. I really prefer the taste of direct drip to cartys or cartos to be honest, much better flavor and just feels better.
  16. Hi guys and gals, Using my Ego this weekend I had the usb fast charger plugged into my Black and Decker power inverter via the usb 5 volt port on it charging the battery and needed the port to charge my Blu Cig battery, so I pulled out the ac wall adapter and plugged the eGo charger into that with the battery still screwed into the charger. Everything was fine then I noticed when I went to look at the charging light because it seemed to be taking a bit too long to recharge that the battery was REALLY hot. I sorta panicked a bit , cranked the AC to cool it down unplugged the charger and replugged it etc. and it cooled down but stil took forever to recharge it seemed, upwards of 4 hours. I unscrewed the battery a couple of time to check for any juice on the connectors of the battery and charger, I didn't find any but cleaned them out just to be sure, and finally I unscrewed the battery, waited a couple for second , pressed the button a few times on the battery until it lit showing it was working then screwed it back into the charger. about 15 minutes later the light finally turned green and the battery has worked fine since. Does the eGo battery or charger have some sort of discharge circuitry or something to prevent an overcharge if the charging cycle is interrupted? The overly hot battery had me more than a little worried on Sunday but seems to be working like a champ now.
  17. Well I got my eGo on the 1st of the month and here we are one week later on the 7th so I figured I would post a progress report. First let me preface this with a small explanation of why I went with the eGo. I work as a security guard for a not to be named worldwide security company. Due to this I work some pretty messed up hours. here is the schedule I work. :Monday 10 pm to 1 am Tuesday 10 pm to 2 am Wednesday and Thursday 10 pm to 1 am Friday 10pm to 2 am Saturday 6 am to 9 am then a second shift 9 pm to 6 am Sunday 10 am to 6 pm and a second shift 9 pm to 1 am Yes that's right on my Sunday I essentially go to work at 9 pm on Sunday and don't come home until 1 am on Monday due to the short breaks between shifts. Don't ask, the schedule is nuts and I need the 13+ an hour the job pays. OK with that said, my old Blu Cig really wasn't cutting it especially on the day from heck. So I got the eGo. this weekend proved the worth of the eGo beautifully, I got a good solid 8 hours or use with the eGo per battery without it breaking a sweat. I have a little Black and Decker power inverter I use for a portable DVD player that has a 5 volt usb power port on it I used to recharge the eGo batteries as they ran out while I used the spare and it worked fantastic. Consistent vapor from start to finish, I could notice at the end of each battery the flavor tended to die off about 30 minutes before the battery did which was a good indicator it was almost time for the battery change out. Great flavor out of the Vapor Galaxy Marlb juice, my Modern Vapor Peach was pretty good too. Not too impressed with vapor galaxy 100%VG Cafe Espresso though, had an odd sorta buttery aftertaste I am not crazy about. I did the weekend with the standard atty's but I removed the bridge wick after I burnt the Cafe Espresso a bit, VG juice is very unforgiving of being burnt, especially coffee flavors I have found (YUCK!). So after approximately 25 to 30 mL of juice I must say I am extremely pleased with the eGo and I cant wait for my latest orders to come in so I can try the flavors I have coming from Vapor Talk and the blue 900maH battery, cone and LR Atty I have coming from Vapor Galaxy. One thing I didn't like that much about the eGo is how small it is, it is so tiny that it feels kinda weird in my hand (I have big hands) which is one of the reasons I ordered the 900 maH battery, to see how that feels. That and I just like blue lol. Lessons learned: Keep a paper towel in my pocket for blowing out the atty when , not if I flood it. 100% VG juice just isn't for me. Removing the top wick on a 510 atty definitely improves the flavor if you burn it. but you gotta make darn sure to keep it wet. Keep a selection of flavors handy, vaping nothing but tobacco flavors gets boring after a few days. eGo cartos at least to me give the juice an odd taste, wondering if 510 cartos might be a better option. I definitely prefer dripping to any other method of vaping, the flavor is SO much better than with a carto or cartridge Be careful when charging batteries. I had a little problem I will be posting about elsewhere on the forums that has me a bit concerned . well that's it for my week in vaping. Thanks everyone for all the great advice, info and support so far and keep vaping.
  18. I just got mine from Vapor Galaxy on sale for 69.99. And orders over 85 are free shipping, so throw a few bottles of liquid and some spare attys in there and there ya go And they sell both PG and VG liquids to boot
  19. I think I will stick with the stanmdard ones for now, though I think my next order will have on of the XL batteries in blue with a matchign cone to go with my stainless attys and nickle plated drip tip lol. At least until the issues with some ego LR atties killing some batteries gets sorted out that I have heard about.
  20. I will hang on to my Blu in case of emergency and as a reminder to not believe the pretty packaging from now on in regards to vaping hehe. Of course I have to finish up those few drops I dripped into the ego before I recharge this battery I tried out hehe. Loving how much smoother this thing draws than the Blu does and the taste is so much better. Glad I ordered a couple spare atomizers and the drip tip for it as well as two empty catros, gonna probably drip almost exclusively, but figured I could load up the cartos for driving back and forth to work at some point. On a side note, thank god for the spellcheck, typing one handed while vaping makes for lots of fat finger typos
  21. I am happy to announce that I have joined the ranks of eGo users the world over! Got my box from Vapor Galaxy today and just had to try it out right wquick for a quick puff or three hehe. OMG the difference in flavor first of all. The Blucig is a decent emergency stopgap measure at best compared to this eGo. I cant wait to get the batteries charged so I can begin properly vaping again!!!
  22. well the thing that royally sucks abotu this is that this is th ebox with my new eGo attys and liquids I just ordered to get off my Blucig SO looking forward to the eGo Been havign to smoke analogs (YUCK!!) for a day now between vaping just to draw out my liquid I have left..... getting really tired of Djarum Black Clove
  23. oh right!!! I read that thread and wondered why he kept going after the first couple of batteries actually. thanks for the link.
  24. I placed an order with VaporGalaxy last Friday and the box has been sitting in my hometown since 10 PM Saturday night according to the USPS evil taunting tracking number service..... it is sitting in the status of having been processed through the sorting facility here in town since the 29th...... How long does it freaking take to get the box out of the sorting facility and into my mailbox!!!! Getting twitchy, the mailman is going to hate me when it finally does arrive..... just needed to vent a bit. Thanks for listening. *goes back to hiding in the bushes outside the apartment complex mailboxes awaiting the mailman*
  25. well basic Ohms law tells us that when you lower the resistance to current more current can flow. So you take a regular resistance atty or carto at whatever it's resistance is to the battery's current which gives us the nice 8+ hour battery life and then you reduce that resistance to current flow to make the atty burn hotter, and thus drain the battery's charge faster. This has the added result of making the battery "work" harder which will reduce the lifespan of the battery if by no other means than draining the battery faster and requiring us to recharge them more frequently, thus using up the battery's "usable recharge life". Other than that, unless the atty's and cartos are somehow exceeding the battery's maximum safe current draw somehow I dont see why they would damage the battery's. Are these battery's that have been dying getting unusually hot by chance? Excessive heat will damage the battery if the battery is drained too rapidly somehow.
