Up for sale is my authentic Vapor Giant (26650) set and authentic Cerberus RDA. I bought these together around Christmas time 9 months ago and have been vaping on them on and off occasionally. There are hardly any noticeable scratches except for the bottom and the top of the mech that have minor scratches from normal use (nothing at all that would affect performance). They have never been subjected to abuse such as dropping nor scratched/patina'd with abrasives or chemicals. I've spent a couple hours polishing every contacting surface and thread to ensure it hits as hard as new and every part has spent 30 minutes in a 99.99% tech isopropyl alcohol bath so it is as clean as new.
The Vapor Giant set includes a 26650 mech mod with extra tube for dual 26650 capacity along with the Vapor Giant RTA with stainless steel and transparent tank sections. The Cerberus RDA matches the mech flawlessly and looks super clean with the Vapor Giant drip tip on top. This is the nicest setup I've ever owned. I'm selling to help fund a new guitar purchase. Asking 250 OBO.

Right now the Sigelei's seem to be the devices to get. IPV3's of course are still selling without an issue, but from what I've heard and seen the Sigelei just seems a bit superior overall in quality. If you don't necessarily need a regulated device, there is a huge market of small businesses producing unregulated and semi regulated box mods you could also look into.
^^I also have the 4 bay intellicharger, and it works great. I've heard some people say they don't give a full charge, but I've tested numerous batteries that have come off a fresh charge and they all read 4.2.

I like to think of blu's and the like as more of an introduction to ecigs/vaping, but like the other 2 mentioned they're really not much of a means to an end and most of us are now on different galaxies with gear. I don't know a whole lot about the smaller tanks, but you could try something like this:
(tank) Kanger mini Protank-3
AND
(mod) eGo-V V3 Mega
That setup can be had for about $33 and you'd probably be very impressed with the vape quality if you're coming from cigalike style vaping. Also, if you care about looks they sell a beauty ring which fits in between the tank and the mod to give it a seamless look. It costs $1 and can be bought with the tank from Kanger's website.
I'll also mention that these vapes are maintained slightly differently. You'll need to refill the tank yourself instead of replacing pre-made cartridges, and will eventually need to buy new coils. Whatever model you buy, just go watch a brief tutorial on YouTube to learn how to set it up.

I thought most of the times with cigars, you don't lung inhale? At least most don't. That's why the incidence of lung cancer is so very low, while all the other cancer risks are the same. Every person I've talked to, including the owners of the area's best cigar shop, said not to lung inhale a cigar.
True. I had a buddy back in high school though who smoked 2 packs of reds a day, and we would get together and smoke the big old stogies and he would french inhale them sometimes. They burn your lungs, I don't know how he did that though lol

Yup, I know. I agree that for our own sake the vaping community as a whole needs to remain vigilant against attacks. Vaping is stealing tons of business, and that's the real battle here. Hell, vaping has taken all of my business I would normally give to cigarette retailers, cigar shops, hookah lounges and even other nicotine cessation products. Stuff I alone have spent about 15 grand on in less than 5 years, and many people spend far more. I think their fat cats at the top are just a tad pissed off by what's impending to happen once vaping becomes more common, which is happening more everyday. I always thought it was funny though, how said fat cats running the smoke show never smoked themselves, maybe they'll start so they can take the edge off a bit.

I think we still need to be receptive to findings on the negative effects of vaping/ecigs. It's just so new and everything, we don't know what they'll do long term. If and when negative effects are discovered, we should take them seriously because just shutting things down gets us, well, nowhere. I frankly don't like people that say vaping is 100% harmless or entirely healthy for you, I think that's misleading. Intaking anything other than air into your lungs is going to have some implications (luckily, they appear to be minimal with vaping). In a perfect world, vaping would be regarded as "something new that is leaps and bounds healthier than cigarettes right now, but the long term effects are still unfounded."
That all being said, I have to agree with a lot of the points here. It doesn't take a medical test to find out my lungs are functioning way better, my entire quality of life has dramatically improved. When I'm at the gym, I can deadlift the same weight for more reps, and I'm not seeing stars as I'm drowning for air after a 400 pound set. And like many of you guys pointed out, even if vaping damages your cells, it still won't keep me from vaping. This is 'merica baby. Cancer sticks are legal, and they have killed millions and cost us all trillions of dollars over the decades. In my own opinion, I don't think it's great to use vaping as a medium to hook non-smokers up with a nicotine addiction. But, if you smoke, what do you really have to lose?

I just got one and it sure seems like it...even given the MNKE 26650 voltage drop, it just doesn't seem like I'm squeezing much out of them. Can any of you guys recommend a good dual (or quad) 26650 charger? I'll test some voltages when I get home to verify, but I'm swapping out 26650's every few hours because they just quit hitting and I have to take 2-3 primer puffs just to get a good vape.

Edit: Nevermind! Tested 2 MNKE 26650's that came off the charger about 3 hours ago and have been sitting. 4.212 and 4.216. I guess it's just the voltage drop!

It is the carmelized residue from your juice. The byproducts of heating the juice and flavorings. It builds up on your coils and flakes off, especially if you do the water dunk. You should try and clean it off as much as possible. This where the burnt taste comes from on a bad coil.
Well that's good to hear, and seems to make sense. I honestly had no clue so I decided to post this. At least it's not shedding oxidized metal particles like I thought it could have been!!

I'd just never really seen this before and it sort of spooked me..enough to sit my vape down until I knew what was up. What can I say, I'm still a noob sometimes.

Preface: I built some new coils last night, vaped on them last night and today, and just rewicked to put some different juice on. In the process of rewicking, I heated up my coils like usual, ran them under cold water, dried them and then put the cotton in. While doing this, I noticed black specks accumulated in the deck of the atomizer, but I just blew them out of there.
Now, with it rewicked and juiced, I noticed after vaping a few times, there are AGAIN now black specks in the bottom of the deck and some were in the cotton. I vaped it a few times and they are gone from the cotton (presumably either vaporized or in the drip tip, my mouth or lungs), but they are still in the bottom of the deck.
Has anyone encountered something like this??
For the record, I bought 6 feet of GPlat 24 to try it out, and that's what these coils are made of. So far, I've seen no real benefits from it, it's not significantly easier to build with than kanthal, there's no better flavor, I frankly like how kanthal heats up more than gplat (but that may be a factor of just the build set up), and plain kanthal has never made these specks. Perhaps it is also worth noting that my kanthal builds the oxidized layer around it, causing the coils to look like a matte gray. These coils look more like a shiny black. I feel like they're trying to oxidize, but for some reason chips of that layer just don't stick, and subsequently fall right off.
Anyone know what's up with this??

Lmao! When I first saw this I automatically thought this was going to be bacon flavored cotton. Admittedly this is a juvenile comment but after looking at them I realized my wife has a box of those already.
Hahaha I know, I first tried it when I called my vape shop and asked for wick and they said they had cotton bacon. I was so confused lol.
Rixter and Tam, yeah you're right. Looks like my fluke multi is going back to school with me. I just tested a build in my new RDA, it's a tricoil with 7 wraps of 24 gauge. It's reading at 1.1 ohm ! I really thought it'd be a lot lower, somewhere in the mid sub ohm, to tell you the truth........just goes to show you don't really know till ya know!

True, but isn't vaping pretty much vaporized PG/VG, or does vaporizing these molecules somehow condense water in the air thus producing the vapor we all know and love?

I've been wondering lately, everywhere you see vaping referred to as inhaling water vapor. But, there's no water in e-liquid. How does vaporizing juice scientifically produce water vapor?

I can't even do 50/50 man, that PG throat kick is just not my thing. Just burns my throat and makes my eyes water. 80/20 is my happy medium

I like to steep/age/whatever. With new juice that has the dropper type of cap, I'll leave it off for a few hours, and every once in a while I'll stick the dropper in the bottle with only air in it (the dropper), and squeeze air down into the juice. Some juices it doesn't change very much, but it's never changed an e-liquid in a bad way imo. It can really help juice that has that alcohol taste when it's new.

The Manhattan looks like a cool mod, but really all mechanical mods like the Manhattan do the same thing, just alterations of a basic principle (battery with a direct on/off button/switch). You really don't need (and I wouldn't recommend) dropping serious cash on a $200 mod if it's your first venture into rebuilding. Luckily, there's a lot of clones of popular mods that are nearly identical and very well-machined, and much more inexpensive. Here's my first rig, it's a Tobh Atty clone with a Panzer "Black Hawk" edition mod clone. It cost about $80 for the mod and like $25 for the atty. I still have it, it still works great, and I still use it even though I've gotten into some of the authentic gear.

Once you have all that, you'll obviously need to rebuild. It's tricky at first, but you'll get the hang of it pretty fast. Because you'll probably be wrapping and re-wrapping a lot of coils when you start, I'd recommend you go to Amazon and buy a big spool of Kanthal. I just checked and 100 feet is $4-7, depending on gauge. Watch some YouTube videos to learn how to physically wrap the coils. RiP Tripper's has been a hot topic lately, but he has a lot of great videos on rebuilding and I learned a lot watching his videos. Don't bother with the advanced builds if your new, just get down a basic dual coil set up and then move up. With your coils built, you'll need wick. There's a ton of opinions on what to use, none necessarily right or wrong. If you don't want to boil cotton, just get some ready-to-use wick. I use cotton bacon, it's very cheap. http://www.electronicstix.com/products/cotton-bacon-10-pieces
I'd also recommend you either get a multimeter or coil tester, to verify the resistance of your coils. I really don't hardly ever test my coils anymore because I just don't build that low, nor do I find scorching hot builds really that enjoyable. When you're new and not sure, however, it's best to be safe. If you don't already know Ohm's law, learn it inside/out/front/back whatever. Fortunately, however, if you use good batteries (which you absolutely should), they will likely let you know ahead of time before they blow. If your mod starts getting warm, take the battery out and feel it. If your battery is getting hot, that's the first indicator you either have a short, or are running it with a coil that is too low.

I'll say, lol.
I recently started using this stuff called cotton bacon. I'd recommend yall give it a try. I picked it up a couple weeks ago because I didn't want to boil cotton, and it was all my local shop had for wick. It's like $6-7 for a pack that'll last any vaper a very long time. I'm digging it more than any other cotton I've tried yet, including the Japanese and domestic organic. Here's a few takeaways, imo
- It doesn't have any weird taste for the first few hits you ever take off it. I noticed Japanese cotton had somewhat of a "break-in" period where I could notice a slightly off taste (nothing repulsive, just different) when it was brand spankin' new.
- It doesn't seem to want to burn up as easily, perhaps because...
- It seems to wick the juice way better. Cotton bacon comes in strips (hence the name), which you tare off in a thickness of your desire. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that cotton balls and the likes have fibers going all which directions. When you tear a strip off this stuff, all of the fibers are visibly moving in the same direction next to each other.
Snake oil or not, it's really cheap for how much you get and it seems to be and do what it claims.

I don't want to discourage you about using stacked batteries, just be careful. If a battery starts acting weird, chunk it, or use it single and get a new pair. Batteries are cheap compared to a $270 mod or a visit to the ER if something goes bad...
That they certainly are. I was out in Philly the past few days, and the 2nd day there my mod was getting hot...not untouchable, but very warm. With one of my trusty VTC4's and a pair of coils that I've been using for weeks with 0 problems, I just kept heating them up and running them under water, rewicking, etc. I quit using it since it seemed sketchy, came home and plugged that VTC4 in to charge, touched it about a half hour later and it was scorching. Tossed that sucker!

Checking in! Just got back home yesterday and got a ton of goodies in the mail. Currently got the Cerberus sittin pretty on stacked MNKE 26650's in the Vapor Giant running tri coil with 8-9 wraps of 26 gauge. Wowzers, this thing is the ****! I have to be careful whenever I start vaping in stacked mode or I instantly get the niccups. Probably gonna go back to a single 26650 later tonight, but even with that I've been very impressed. I'll get some pics up in a bit.
Off topic question: I've learned up a lot about stacking (mainly how it can go really wrong if you don't know what you're doing), and how to care for your batteries. In addition to charging/discharging them as a pair, should you also keep them in the same order loading them into your mod? I don't see how this could make a difference electrically, but just a thought I'd ask.

Edit: I also have this on Craigslist for 250, but if anybody here wants it I can do $200 plus shipping. I'm not posting on here often but I've received a lot of help from you guys over the past year so I don't mind. $200 is pretty firm though. It'll also include the wooden crate box the giant came in and I'll throw in some various gauges of kanthal and extra screws/O rings/bits etc.
