  1. Well, it kinda works. It's a pain to turn on, and once on, randomly cuts out. Due to an unrelated drop, the inside threads (can't remember the correct type of thread that they are) are messed up, so it'll only work with eGo type threaded tanks. I still have it, but don't even mess with it anymore since I picked up a Tesla.
  2. Just a brief update on the V3. I vaped it a bit Friday morning before heading to work, but was having some issues with it. It was difficult to turn on, and wouldn't stay on. I would have to turn it on a couple of times in about a 5 minute period because it just randomly shut off. So I put it on the charger and vaped my EVOD-Twist and my Bolt until Friday evening (when I returned from my trip). I picked up the Vamo shortly after getting home, and had the same cut-out issue that it was having that morning. I wound up switching amongst my 3 devices, leaning more towards the Twist, for the rest of the evening. I did, however, find that tapping the screen a bit eased the process. Threw the batts on the charger before I went to bed for an overnight charge. Got up this morning and went straight for the Vamo. After a few bouts with difficulty powering on and staying on, I finally managed to get it on and stay on. I've been primarily using the Vamo all day, with a few swaps for the Bolt or the Twist, and have had little issue the rest of the day. I'll keep tabs on it and start looking at some other mods as a possible replacement, start preparing for the worst. and hoping for the best. I'm seriously considering the Provari, but we'll see.
  3. Thank you for the suggestions. Before I go on to the point of this reply, let me recap what I did to troubleshoot/repair it. 1. Stretched spring 2. Tried 3 batteries (2 Trustfire 2500mAh 18650s and 1 IMR 2000mAh 18650) 3. Attempted power on process several times 4. Attempted excess click power on several times 5. I even went as far as a slight drop on the carpet to jar things back into place (kinda dumb, I know, but figured WTH, it was dead anyway). Before I went to sleep last night, I put the Trustfire that was dropped and the IMR on the Intellicharger, and left both until I got off work today. Before I went to work, I gave the Vamo a few attempts at powering on with the battery that wasn't dropped, but nothing happened. I get off work, give the same battery another shot, still nothing. Then I figured, I doubt it'll work, but WTH. I tried the battery that's been on the charger since last night a shot. IT WORKED!! Just when I thought I couldn't get any more confused, I tried the other Trustfire again for good measure. Nothing. Switch back to the one it worked with, came right on and vapes. So I put the one that's not powering on the Vamo on the charger, and it's got at least 2/3 of it's charge (well, 2 of 3 lights went solid within a couple of minutes), looking like a possible fully charged battery (as I only used it to check the device after it was dropped, and the 3rd light just went solid a minute or so after the 2nd). If you can't tell, I'm kinda doing some mix and match troubleshooting as I type this. Tried the dropped battery, looks like it's toast. I didn't see it before, but the negative post is dinged. I swapped batteries again (to the non-damaged Trustfire and the IMR). The Trustfire didn't initially power on the device, but the IMR did. Did a swap back to the Trustfire (I use the Trustfire batts in the Vamo and the IMR in my Bolt, so I wanted to keep a Trustfire in the Vamo if possible), tapped the device against my palm, and it works. I'm thinking that something is loose inside, but it works...for now. I'll vape it for a few days and see how it does before I make any more decisions on it. If it works without issue, I'll keep it for a while. If it gives me trouble, I'll start looking for a new mod.
  4. Oh, I forgot to mention that I also switched to my spare battery that was not in it when it was dropped and still got nothing.
  5. So I'm out of town on business, vaping on my Vamo V3 for the last 4 hours without a hitch. I get to my destination, get out of the car, and start walking in the building. I then stepped hard on a bump in the parking lot, jarring the Vamo out of my shirt pocket and onto the ground. I pick it up to take a vape and get nothing. I click it 5 times to turn it on...nothing. OK, sometimes I have to repeat the 5 clicks a couple of times to get it to turn on, so I think nothing is out of the ordinary. That is, until I repeat this several times and get nothing. Fortunately, I have my Bolt and my eGo with me as spares to get me until I can get off work. When I got off, I took it to a local vape shop to see if they could help. They looked at it, took out the battery, reversed the battery (it was in there correctly when I went through the above), and really didn't do much else except look inside the head. Frustrated, and without the disposable funds to get a new V3 or similar, I picked up an EVOD-twist just to get me by for my VV vaping until I can either replace the V3, or get it fixed. When I got back to the hotel, I started looking up what I could do to fix it, but cannot find much. I did ensure the battery was installed correctly and spread the spring to ensure that it was getting good contact. It's still not powering on. I also tried vaping it to see if the screen's just dead, but get nothing. What can I do before contacting the manufacturer once I get home or completely replacing it? Thanks
  6. Good evening Vapers, First off, sorry for the long post. I've been a pack and a half a day smoker for the last 13 years. While in the military, it was affecting my physical abilities, so I needed to try to make a change. Problem is, not only was/am I addicted to cigarettes, but I enjoy(ed) it to. In about the later part of 2010, I was walking through the mall near where I was stationed and passed an e-cig kiosk that was doing demos. I tried it with a few different flavors, and decided that I would give it a try. The price was a bit higher than I was looking to spend, so I went a few shops down to the tobacco shop to see what they had. They had the Encore Express (don't know if it was the Express then or not, but that's what it is now) for about half the price of what the kiosk was charging. So I picked up a 1 battery kit and some extra cartomizers for it. I really only vaped it when I was indoors in places I couldn't smoke because shortly after buying it, I realized it's biggest downfalls for me. That downfall was its battery life and its cutoff after about 5-10 minutes of vaping. I wasn't getting as much out of the Encore as I'd hoped, and it took almost constant puffing on it to keep me from wanting an analog. The cutoff was getting annoying, and even after getting past the cutoff, I would need a new battery in an hour or 2. Within a couple of months, still on the analogs mostly, my sister's dog got a hold of the battery, then my wife wound up washing it. With the battery being trashed and my dissatisfaction with it, I decided to just not get a new battery and stick with the analogs. Fast forward 2 more years to 2012. I was out of the service, but living in a house where I could not smoke indoors. Again, walking in the local mall, I ran across a mall kiosk that was selling the Smoke Smart e-cigs. They were the 3-piece cigarette look alikes. I tried them and picked up a 2 battery "Premium Luxury" starter kit, some extra cartridges, a car charger, and some extra juice. I figured this time that I'd get what I'd paid for with the higher cost of entry (ballpark of $200 for everything). It still suffered from the short battery life and my desire to constantly puff on it. I will say, though, that I liked this one better than the Encore because I could add juice to the cartridge without a bunch of fuss, and all the parts were replaceable. It still wasn't performing how I was expecting it to, so I was still on the analogs. Now we fast forward again, this time to December 20, 2013. I went to the local tobacco shop to get my analogs for the next 2 weeks. While in there, I saw that they had started selling a lot more e-cig products than before. Seeing that, I remembered that just a week or so before, I had attempted to pull out my Smoke Smart, but the atty was fried. I asked about atties for them, but couldn't remember the brand and didn't have it with me, preventing me from making an accurate atty selection for it. However, I had recently tried my sister's eGo style PV that she picked up from a local vapor shop, and I liked it, but at the time, wasn't really interested in switching to, or getting a PV. I decided that I'd try a few flavors and browse and learn about the tobacco shop's selection of eGo style PVs. I settled on a blue eGo Firefly 900 kit with 2 batts, 2 disposable cartos, a charger, and a case. I also picked up a bottle each of Halo’s Captain Jack and Voodoo. I’ve only had 2.5 packs of analogs in the 2 weeks since, and I’m wrapping up day 1 without an analog. I will say that within a couple of days, the Captain Jack started tasking horrible, and the Voodoo, while still OK, had lost its allure. So right before Christmas, I went to the local vapor shop where my sister got her eGo and picked up a KangerTech T3S (more on that later) and a bottle of their juice. After watching some reviews on the T3S, and running out of Jolly Rancher juice, I went back to the shop to get 2 KangerTech Mini Protank V2s, more Jolly Rancher juice, an Almond Amaretto juice, and a White Chocolate juice. OK, this is getting long, so I’ll start to wrap up my story. I know own the T3S, the 2 Mini Protanks, 2 Kanger E-VODs, an Aspire Viva Nova-S, an Aspire ET-S, and an AGA-TD for my tanks, 2 eGo Firefly batts, and a Vamo V3 Mod. My favorite tank on the eGo so far is the Aspire ET-S with a 2.1 ohm coil. Yep, that’s right, within 2 weeks I’m already into VV/VW. This is where my questions come from. I’ve been vaping the Vamo/AGA combo for a bit over 24 hours now, and have already filled the AGA 6-8 times and charged the Vamo’s batts (2 of the ICR18350s) 3 times using the Nitecore Intellicharger i2. Also, the silica wick in the AGA is already starting to get a burnt taste (while writing this post). At this point, it’s not bad, and only occasional. I vape it at 6v, with a resistance of 2.8 ohms using a steel mesh/silica wick. I have opened up the large air holes on the AGA a bit to allow for more airflow. In the AGA, I’m vaping roughly a 60/40 VG to PG at 24mg nic. I’m looking for thick vapor, solid-strong flavor, and a mid to moderate throat hit. I am almost constantly vaping. When I vape the ET-S or the Viva Nova-S on the Vamo (both 2.1 ohm coils), I have to keep it around 3.5w to 4w or I start to get a burnt taste. What would be your recommendations on batteries for longer battery life? What would be a good build in the AGA to provide what I’m looking for in the vape and prolonged wick life? Is the low power all I’m going to get out of the Aspire tanks on the Vamo, or is there a different resistance coil I can use to push a bit more power through it? Thank you, Shannon
