  1. Hi, Lord Vapor! I am by no means a pro when it comes to vaping...I've only been doing it a little more than 30 days myself. But here are some thoughts. 1. A carton of cigarettes in most places is about $60. For this, you can invest in some new e-liquids, and see if you can get back on track. 2. You may need a new battery or new atomizer. Even if your battery is charging, and your atomizer is "working," they may have lost the punch they had when first new. 3. You may need a higher nicotine level. I noticed that I am best using 24 mg in the morning, and then I drop to 12 throughout the rest of the day. In the late evening I will go to 8 mg. 4. You may need a thicker juice with a stronger punch to its flavor. When I get feeling antsy, I use Liberty Liquid Chocolate at 24 mg. It also comes in 36 mg, and is available at www.mypvshop.com for $7.99/15 ml. Use 10FOR2010 to get an additional 10% off. 5. Some people notice that around the 20 or 30 day mark, after they have been vaping away very happily, they suddenly start climbing walls. There is non-professional speculation floating about that it is about this time the non-nicotine alkaloids contained in tobacco start leaving the body. Many people will supplement vaping with Swedish snus to get them through this, if they are committed to getting off analogs. I haven't used snus myself, but a lot of people have found relief in snus. I don't think you need to apologize for taking a couple of puffs of an analog. The absence of stress on myself was a big factor, I believe, in making the switch from tobacco to e-cigs. But, it would be terrific if you didn't give up on the e-cig just yet. The answer is out there, I am sure of it! Keep trying different things and keep posting, please. Edited to Add: I just received the eGo this morning, myself, and it is charging as I type. However, eGo is another 3.7 volt, and you may need a 5 or 6 volt to make you happy.
  2. Yes, that battery charger is tricky, and I am never sure how to place it in there. Is the flat bottom of the battery the + or the - side? I know that must be an ignorant question, but I am always dependent on labels, and I can barely read this battery's label.
  3. i just love hearing these stories. Smelling a snowy day, and being reminded of childhood...how great is that? And the idea that the brain is rewiring due in response to quitting tobacco, I can only hope that my brain will do the same. I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin, on my face, hands, and the rest of me as well. I spent the past 20 years believing that I had rosacea. But all the pinkness on my face is vanishing. The palms of my hands have become less creased, and the skin on my arms is smoother. I smoked for over 40 years, and have been off analogs for only a little more than 30 days. The human body's ability to repair itself is awesome, and even spiritual!
  4. I'm not sure what happens when the atty goes bad, but I will ask. I bought this mainly for long road trips, so I don't have to refill the cartridge while driving. I won't have it for another month or so, but will review it here when I have it in hand.
  5. I have a Juicebox on order, which is very similar to a Janty Stick. The Juicebox is supposed to have a battery and "juicer" that lasts all day. It has received great reviews, but is made to order, and I will not have it for another month. It uses a custom atomizer that is guaranteed for 6 months.
  6. Thanks for this information. I really like the Spade and the way it is so well-built. However, I am having a hard time with these batteries. One of the batteries I received is completely dead after using only once or twice and will not recharge. The other battery doesn't hold a charge much longer than a 510. I ordered a new set of batteries from the VaporTalk store, in the hopes that I just received a bad set. How long do your 10440 batteries last? Are there any other battery options for the Spade?
  7. Can someone point me to the correct battery charger that will charge 2 Spade batteries at the same time? I am very technically challenged and, although I can make some guesses, I want to be sure I'm getting the right charger.
  8. I plan on taking my e-cig when I go to see Avatar in 3D....a movie that is 2.5 hours long. I will go to a show that is not prime time, probably a matinee, so I can sit in a deserted corner of the theatre and take a stealth vape now and again. First time I will be able to see a show in a theatre without taking a smoke break and trying to figure out what I missed!
  9. You will be very happy with the VP/PT. I use my 510 now only as a backup.
  10. Wow, Rusty, what an interesting story. At 30 days analog-free, I have noticed a lot of changes in my skin and sense of well-being. I'll look forward to regaining my senses of smell and taste, but hopefully not to the extent that I smell dead animals within 5 miles!
  11. Nana and DDave....thanks for your optimism. I don't look forward to the smell of stale cigarette smoke, but it would be nice to smell freshly brewed coffee. I have a vague memory of that scent, and the memory is a nice one.
  12. Ddave...you will love the VP/PT! I was vaping 18 mg nicotine, but cut down with no problem to 11 or 12 mg of nicotine with the VP/PT. I introduced my neighbor to vaping this weekend, and started her with the 510. She tried my VP/PT, and her eyes lit up. There was no way I was going to give up my VP/PT. So, I just had to order one for her, and an extra one for myself.
  13. After I was off analogs for a couple of weeks, I did experience the newness of a couple of smells, such as fresh coffee when I was refilling my canister and disinfectant when I walked into a building. But, since then I have not noticed any improvement in my sense of smell and I have never been able to detect any analog smell on other people or in my home. I don't smell my coffee brewing, for example. After 40 years of smoking, I wonder if my sense of smell is mostly shot and never to return again.
  14. I interpret this to mean that you have been off analog cigarettes since around your join date of August 2009? If so, I think that is great, even if you can no longer taste your favorite flavor.
  15. Thanks very much for this information. Will my standard 501 catridges work with the 801 lowbridge/302 atomizer?
  16. I guess that settles it....I will order an 801 high bridge atty for my VP. Thanks. Edited to Add: I see the Vapor Talk store does not carry 801 atomizers. I have only used 501 in the past....any recommendations as to where to buy the 801?
  17. Nana....what does the 801 do on the VP/PT? I have never used anything except the 501 on any of my mods or PTs.
  18. I ordered the juicebox for longer road trips. Supposedly, the juicebox will hold a day's worth of e-juice, and the batteries for 4 to 5 hours. It looks clunky, but sounds perfect for those 2 to 3 hour drives on the highway, when refilling cartridges can be awkward.
  19. Beboe... mypvshop.com sells a 510 passthrough at a very economical price, about $17.00. They also sell a wall adaptor that passthrough for about $7. The wall adaptor, however, will not work for other passthroughs, or at least it didn't work on the protegy passthrough I had, probably because of greater power needs. I agree with the other poster, however. While the 510 passthrough is good, the VP Passthrough is absolutely the best! So, get the 510 passthrough if money is a concern, but when you are able, move up to the VP passthrough. You won't regret it. If you get the VP Passthrough, you can always use the 510 passthrough as a spare. Edited to add: At mypvshop.com, use coupon code 10FOR2010 to get 10% off your entire order.
  20. Congratulations, Luck! I remember my 3 day mark without analogs. It is so exciting! You must have received a magic set of batteries for your 510. My 510 batteries go after a good hour or hour and a half. But, maybe I just vape too much. At any rate, enjoy those batteries and all the best as you vape.
  21. Everytime I see from my banner how much I've "saved" from not buying cigarettes, I do have to laugh. So far I bought and received a ton of Joye 510 batteries and antomizers, a car adaptor, 2 510 passthroughs, a Protege, Protegy passthrough, a BB (I think that stands for "Black Beauty"), a VP passthrough, and a Spade. To date, the VP Passthrough is my favorite, although I haven't tried the Spade yet (battery is charging). I have a Chuck and a Juicebox on order. Then, of course, there are the the various batteries for the mods and the chargers that I have bought. And the juice -- lots of juice. I bought each of my 2 brothers a Joye 510 starter kit. But, at some point I will find what totally works for me, and I expect there to be significant savings from the fact that I no longer purchase cigarettes. The most important thing is that I am free from tobacco. And I am sooo happy about that.
  22. My Spade and VP Passthrough arrived today. Immediately, I started a charge for the battery to use with the Spade. Then, I tried the VP Passthrough. Wow! This is so much more satisfying than the Joye 510 passthrough I have been using. Throat hit is excellent, with consistent vaping. And, it does not appear to have the questionable workmanship/button issues of the Protegy passthrough I previously used and have since abandoned. I am very excited about the wall power unit that the usb plug on the passthrough can use...this is perfect for watching TV or when I sew, and I don't have a computer nearby to use as a power source. The passthrough, with the 510 adaptor, is long and slender, very elegant in fact. I like the LED light on the passthrough. I think I will get another passthrough for the office, and keep one at home. I just love the acrylic stand. Vaporing is now organized and uncluttered. Chris threw in a free car adaptor for use with the passthrough. Thank you, Chris! Ladies...although I haven't used it yet, the Spade is the first Mod I've seen that is so fashionable in appearance. Very, very elegant. The passthrough also looks ... just right! I will post a review on the Spade after the battery charges and I have a chance to use it. But, for right now, the VP passthrough is absolutely perfect, just right.
  23. I bought a Protege, and it malfunctioned due to a design defect. It started to smoke very badly, and burned a hole in my purse. The vendor offered to fix it at no charge, but I am not interested in using the Protege after that incident. I also bought a Protegy Passthrough. The button does not work, and it will cost an additional $20 for a different button, that the vendor says is a better button. I will say, though, that before the button malfunctioned, I did like the Protegy Passthrough. I have not been happy with the Protegy/Protege products. Good luck with your Protegy.
  24. You can never have too much equipment. When quitting analogs, it helped me a lot to know that one problem I should not have is running out of e-cig supplies or options. Good luck!
  25. My hairdresser did tell me that she sees a change in hair texture when people stop smoking. She said it can become less frizzy and dry. I've also heard of the hair of some people becoming curlier when they stop smoking. I never heard of growing hair as a result of stoping the analogs, but...wow! Very intriguing. Please keep us up-to-date, as I am very interested in this.
