  1. Ron, they're definitely cartomizers. I got Kr808 starter kits (a Vapor King and a Volt). They're 2-piece units. Maybe cotton or gauze wasn't the best way to describe what's left in there. It's a white material, and all I can see other than that is the hole that goes down the center.
  2. I've been looking at cartos for filling. When they say empty or blank, I assume that means totally empty? No filling? Do I need filling? I did pull the top off a spent carto I have, and there was what looked like white cotton or gauze in there. I'm such a noob! I want cartomizers that are ready to be filled using the condom method. Help!
  3. So now I think I need to find a place where I can get sample-size bottles to try in all PG, all VG and a mixture, to see which works best for me. If it weren't for my coughing when I inhale vapor, I'd be sold on 100% PG. I've read a lot about VG being thicker and just not working as well. But if I'm sensitive to PG and will always cough when I use it, I'm never going to get the most out of vaping. I've checked a few sites that have samples, but they don't all have low nic samples. I'm liking my 6 mg cartos and I don't want to go back up to 12. I should probably also try a small bottle in 0 nic PG to see if it's the nic that's making me cough. It amazes me that even with all the confusion and challenges, I'm still enjoying vaping way more than smoking!
  4. The more I learn, the less I know! I found the tutorials section and watched the video on filling cartos with the "condom" method (LOL, when I first saw that term, I thought it involved actual condoms!) and I think even I can handle that! So --- which supplier? Should I look for a sample pack? PG/VG mix? Everything I've tried so far (in prefilled cartos) has been 100% PG. I still have some issues with coughing, though it's getting a little better, and I wonder if I might be sensitive to PG (why not, I'm allergic to penicillin, sulfa, cats, grass, pollen, dust mites, etc etc). But I've read that VG juices tend to mute the flavor. I'm really enjoying vaping, but it's sure a steep learning curve! Thanks again for all the advice.
  5. I checked out the iGo battery, and found that nhaler.com has a new KR808 kit. It sounds really cool. Here's the description: KR808-DM1 Kit is our newest KR808 Model with a stylish matching larger capacity (2mL) Horizontal coil Cartomizer. You will be shocked with the flavor and vapor of this new Big Battery Ecig. Comes with 2- 480 Mah batteries that have the NEW Click Switch Technology and Smart Charge indicator to let you know the degree of remaining charge left on your battery. Click the button three times and your battery is off, and safe for your pocket or purse. Click three more times and your back to vaping!!! These will work with all KR808 cartos. Currently available in 2 colors, Red Ice and Blue Ice. A great textured paint look. Also available with 2 flavors 555 and Menthol. Blanks are also available for sale separately. Not the largest batt on the market, but bigger than what I'm using now. I love the idea of having an indicator that tells me how much charge I have left on my battery. And the colors are really cool too The blank cartos are $2.00 each. Is that a good price for a blank carto? I work from home and don't go out a lot - the longest I'm away from home is usually about 6 hours to play golf, and so far one Kr808 batt has been fine for that. My biggest complaint about my batts is when I go outside with my husband for a smoke break (for him, a vape break for me) and my batt dies. Then I have to go back inside to get a charged one, and he's done smoking by the time I get back outside, LOL. So having an indicator would help me to be sure to have an extra charged batt in my pocket when my batt is running low.
  6. Thanks! I remember seeing one site that included a free bottle of juice with a carto order (or maybe it was a starter kit order), if I can find that site again it would be a good way of trying the liquid. I'll definitely look into the iGo battery.
  7. Good point, mjradik! I don't think I'll have too much trouble quitting for good, but this is extra incentive
  8. I've done a lot of reading. I know that filling your own is considered the best option by most people. It seems to be the ONLY option for a lot of people. But for me, I can't see getting into cleaning cartridges and attys, and filling them, refilling, dripping, etc. It just sounds like so much work! I already have more work than I can get to. I like my prefilled cartomizers. They may not taste as good as the DIY, but they sure taste better than analogs! I decided on a Kr808 kit because that seemed to have the largest selection of prefilled cartos. I've continued reading and researching since I started vaping (all of 10 days ago, LOL) and it appears there are adapters! So maybe I can still use my prefilled cartomizers and get a better battery? Any suggestions, other than telling me to use the e-liquids? I'd like more battery life. What other advantages are there to the other battery types?
  9. Thanks for the replies, the warm welcome, and the advice! My husband is asking questions about my e-cig. I'm hoping the curiosity will eventually lead to him giving it a serious try. I made it through the weekend without smoking nearly as much as I used to, and I haven't had an analog since Sunday afternoon. Is it too soon to start using the smoke free counter? LOL I got my lower nic cartos yesterday. Still some coughing, but not as bad. I think it's just a matter of time before I'll be able to vape without thinking about technique or worrying about having a coughing fit. Uma, I have the Volt as well as the Vapor King. The Vapor King was my first purchase. When I decided I wanted more batteries, I ordered a Volt starter kit from smokeless image with two manual batts. I'm still not sure if I prefer auto or manual. I like them both.
  10. That's encouraging, Gatorgirl. Thanks! I only had one analog yesterday. I think it will be harder over the weekend because I'll be with him the whole time, but I'll try to vape more and keep the analogs to a minimum. I just had my first analog, about 3 hours later than I normally would have. I'll see how it goes. I told myself if I want an analog, I'll have one. I'm not going to torture myself. Yesterday I wanted the one I had (about the same time as today) but I was fine with vaping the rest of the day.
  11. Thanks Brian. I wondered if it was the nic level. I started at 12 mg. But because I have asthma even that might be too much for me. I have some on order that's lower (6 mg I think). I hope that will work. I'd like to be able to vape without coughing! I did get my husband to try it yesterday. He can inhale the vapor with no problem. He just doesn't seem to like it.
  12. Nope. Not me anyway. I've been drawing the vapor into my mouth, opening my mouth and then inhaling it into my lungs. Most of the time now I'm alright. I still cough if I inhale too much vapor though. I hope it's a just a matter of getting used to it. I think you're all correct about me not pushing my husband. He'll have to be ready. I'll just keep vaping while he's smoking, and when those new flavors get here I'll let him know what I think about them! Thanks for the replies!
  13. Hi everyone! My first post Got my Kr808 6 days ago. Struggled with it a little until I read a bit and watched some videos, and now I'm doing pretty well with it. I'm still having issues with coughing if I inhale too much vapor, but things are getting better. I take slow, easy draws, just about 2 seconds, and I'm ok. If I stretch it out any longer, I'll cough. I was smoking about 10 to 15 analogs (ultralights) a day before I got my ecig. Two days ago I had 4 analogs, yesterday I had 3, and so far today I've only had one (I would have been up to about 6 by this time, on a good day, before I started vaping). My issue is that my husband is smoking analogs. He seemed interested in the ecig idea when I first brought it up, and seems very encouraging about how I'm doing, but other than trying it the first day I got it, he hasn't shown much interest in switching. I think I would have no problem giving up the analogs completely if I were the only smoker in the house. And maybe when I find the right flavor it will help. I foolishly thought I wanted a tobacco flavor, but also read that a lot of people prefer the menthol flavors. That's what I ordered with my initial order, a tobacco sampler and a menthol sampler. A couple of days later I ordered some cola flavor in V4L's WOW cartos. But I have a hard time inhaling it without coughing, and if I take a shorter drag, I don't get any throat hit and very little of the flavor. So this morning I ordered some grape, chocolate, and vanilla. I also ordered them in a lower nicotine level than I started at, hoping that will help me be able to inhale more of the vapor without coughing. Does anyone live with an analog smoker and not miss the analogs? I'm already finding that I don't like the taste of the analogs that much anymore. I'm hoping I can work on my husband this weekend to get him to try vaping again. I got some Wowbacco in a higher nic level for him. I started at 11 mg. I ordered some 18 mg for him. He also smokes ultralights, but smokes more than I did. It's somewhat frustrating to read all the posts from people who were able to stop analogs completely as soon as they started vaping. I want to be done with the analogs! Also, any suggestions on my coughing problem? I've had a cold for almost 2 weeks now, so I hope I'm almost done with that, and that may be contributing to my coughing. I also have very mild asthma. It just seems odd to me that inhaling smoke doesn't make me cough, but inhaling vapor does. Gosh, this turned into a long, rambling post. Sorry!
