  1. I was digging through my boxes the other night and found a bunch of unflavored 24mg I bought off Chris a few years ago. Not wanting to waste anything, I was trying to come up with an idea to flavor it when I remembered the roll-you-own cigarettes place across the street had Tasty Puff brand flavorings for tobacco. A quick google search revealed it was fine to mix with e-liquid so, cash in hand, I headed over to purchase a few.

They price out at about $2.50/bottle and come in every flavor you can imagine. A bottle appears to be about an ounce which should last a long time as it is very concentrated. Judging by the packaging, it seems it was intended to be used for "other than tobacco" products but who knows?

I picked up Jungle Juice, Joosy Fruit, and Lemon/Lime to start. I've always been of the opinion that DIY e-juice is more like a cooking than science so I tried 10 drops of e-liquid to 1 drop of Tasty Puff. The Jungle Juice was nice and fruity like a watermellon punch. Very nice and tasty! Next, I tried the Lemon/Lime. I was amazed! It tasted just like 7-Up! And the Joosy Fruit tasted exactly like Juicy Fruit gum! I have to say I was astounded by how vibrant and realistic the flavors were!

If you haven't given this a try, I would highly recommend it. I've tried all the Loranne stuff and it didn't hold a candle to the Taste Puff.

I'm probably late to the party with this write up but I just had to put out how great these flavors are. On a side note, I found a full bottle of 16mg Midnight and it mixes really well in the atty with the 7-Up flavor. Good job on that one, guys! :yes

  2. I picked one up after my layoff. It took a bit of tinkering to get it right. The single punch cart that came with it was worthless. Luckily I add a 5 pack of dual holes to go with it. Those seem to work much, much better. It's just "OK" in my book.

I like the Vision clearos like Jeff mentioned the best so far. The draw is smoother and more to my taste. However, I keep the DCT on my VP-PT for almost infinite vaping. Worth the few bucks they cost, in my opinion.

I can see it's going to be painful when the carto gives up, though.

  3. A few of years ago when I started vaping, I bought my dad a 510 kit for Christmas. He's been smoking since he was 16 and is in his 70s. I knew the technology would appeal to him and he took to it like a duck to water. He was making his own mods (I think I have a picture of some on here somewhere).

Well, after about a year of cutting down and finally ending up on straight VG, he just quit. Never picked up another analog! He's been clean for about 2 years now and swears he never wants another one. He said he drags out one of his mods and vapes on occasion, just to have something to play with but for the most part he is no doing anything.

This is my idea of a true success story!

  4. Hi folks!

Some of you may remember me and some may not but after almost two years on analogs, I'm back in the digital world!

Looks like a few things have changed/improved and I'm looking forward to learning about all the new gizmos.

Anyhow, it's good to be home!

  5. Yeah your dads a hoot! Same here! Do you ever visit Hodges Hobbies at fly ins or such?

No, that's kind of dad and Rob's thing. Though I did get dad into RC cars for awhile!

My other brother and I are rock musicians. That's kind of always been our hobby.

  6. WOW Small world! I live in Americus! I live about 8 miles from Hodges Hobbies. I met him out there way back when I first started flying! He does not fly much there anymore tho.

Small world of vapors, that's for sure! Yeah, I hooked up my dad with a 510 around October of last year. He bought Rob a 510 for Christmas but I don't know if he took up vaping. If you know my dad, you know he's quit a character! Good to meet you, man!

  7. My old man is a tinkerer by nature. When I bought him his first pv, I knew he wouldn't stop there. My mom calls this thing "The Bomb Detonator". He took 3 - 900 mah nicad batteries and soldered them to an 801 atty and a switch from Radio Shack. He quick charges them on a charger he built for his RC planes. He says it's runing 3.2v and works great.

Using nicads, you don't have to worry about explosions, contrary to the nickname!

I swear in the picture it looks like he's tailpiping the thing! I love my pop!

  8. I feel your pain but it's not as complicated as it sounds. You don't even really need the calculator since all your stuff is flavored. Here's how it works:

48mg means that there is 48mg of nicotine in 1ml of fluid. So there are 96mg of nicotine in 2ml and so on. Once you know that, it's just a simple matter of ratios to get what you want.

In your case, it would be super easy to make 24mg since you just cut it 50/50: 1mg of VG to 1mg of juice = 24mg/ml. Or 48/2=24. Make sense?

48/3=16 so if you used 1/3 juice and 2/3 VG you would get a 16mg juice.

Here's the bottom line: I don't personally worry too much about how precise things are. I wouldn't put money on the fact that what we get is exactly the correct mg/ml anyway. So I just eyeball it.

If you fill about a 1/3 of the 10ml bottle with juice and fill the rest up with VG, you'll get about 16 mg. To get 18mg, I would just put a little more than a 1/3 juice.

To me, it's more like cooking. Just do it to taste and you'll be happy with the results (most of the time).

  9. Well, folks, I was overseas for awhile and didn't get to bring my gear with me so it was back to analogs for awhile. Man, I missed my vaping stuff. But I will say, it was really hard to get back to vaping after being on analogs for so long! I had forgotten what kind of a hold those things get on you.

I must admit, I'm still burning a few everyday but I can see that becoming less and less. I guess the lesson learned here is that it is really easy to drop back into your old habits. I don't think the monkey ever really gets off your back.

So be sure to have plenty of juice and attys because life without vaping stinks!

And most of all, never, ever give up trying.

  10. An e-cig is just like any other electronic/mechanical device. The more you use it, the quicker it's going to die. It's like putting 100,000 miles a year on a car vs 50,000 miles a year. Most of us have more than one device and alternate between them all day. For example, I have 3 sitting by my left hand right now. That allows your atty to cool down and rotates through your batteries. Most 510 kits come with 2 batteries so you can charge them both up and have 2 complete units.

Believe me, you become a "collector" pretty quickly!

  11. This is SLB's version of the Janty/Joye stick and I have to say I've heard good thing about it. I may get on myself and give it a whirl :)

Chris, how's the baby doing? I've been out of the country for awhile.

  12. I picked one of them up and was wondering if anybody else has one. I did a video on it and posted it up to the video section of VT. I wanted to get some other people's impression of their experiences with the unit.

  13. Did you guys miss me? I sure missed you all! I've been "off shore" for a few weeks. I have this crazy job where out of the blue, a car pulls up in front of the house, a couple of big Marines get out and say "come with us". But, hey, it's a living!

I see there has been lots of changes here and the Joker is out! Wahoo! Can't wait to get my hands on that bad boy.

Unfortunately, I had to switch back to analogs since I couldn't get my stuff but I sit here with my Indulgence in my hands and relaxing to some Dulcis. Oh how I missed this!

Anyway, thanks for the PMs and concern. You guys are the BEST!!!
