  1. I once bought a kit online. I actually got an extra battery from what I ordered and was super excited.

I left the battery charging at my desk while I went and got some coffee, came back and started smelling a weird burning smell. Turns out, there was a bit of what looked like solder connecting the battery terminal and the threading (causing a short). The charger was around 15% melted and I'm sure if I was gone longer things would've gotten bad.

Now I'm always paranoid about leaving batteries around charging (still do it though).

My advice, never leave a new battery charging unattended. Once you have more time to learn about the battery and the charger's quality, you're good to leave them.

  2. With that said ----- Vaping has proven to get long term smokers off cigarettes (never seen before conversion rates) and I have yet to see any data to outweigh that ongoing and demonstrated fact.

Amen to that. Just about anyone who vapes either used to smoke or would've probably started smoking anyway. If what we want is an overall increase in health in the population, ecigs should have no opposition whatsoever.

  3. I used to have the same tank (different brand though), it is next to impossible to clean. I put some really old liquid in it and it left a really nasty coat on the tank that I couldn't clean out due to fact that it can't really be taken apart.

While it lasts though, it's a decent tank and did introduce me to tanks/clearomizers.

Lately I've been using Kangertech brand tanks, specifficaly the Mini Protank II and the Evod. They're pretty good and completely user-replaceable. They'll work with the style battery from that set also.

  4. I got an eRoll awhile back and I like it a lot. For me, it's perfect for when I'm working since I can hold the thing in my mouth and have both hands free for typing (like a real cigarette only no ashing :D), but the charging case can be a pain. To fit in the PCC, the eRoll has to be fully assembled; battery, atomizer, cone, and tank. The eRoll kit comes with 2 of everything, except a second cone.

Anyways, the 5100CC battery seems to be the same as an eRoll's, so I should be able to use that right? I'm curious how the battery stays in the charger though since there's no threading, possibly magnets maybe (how do magnets even work?)

  5. Lately I've been using a 1000mAh Joyetech Ego Twist with a KangerTech Mini Protank-II. I love it, but it's quite large and I'm finding myself in more situations that I'd really like something as small and quiet as possible (moving us into shared offices at work, booo!).

Any suggestions? I have a Joyetech Eroll, but that doesn't deliever enough umph as I'm wanting and sometimes can be pretty loud. I saw on another forum about the SD Keyring which looks promising, does anyone have any experience with one of these?

  6. The great thing about the 510 is that so many things are compatible with it. I recommend getting a tank for your 510 rather than using those cotton cartridge stuff, I agree they suck.

So if you want to keep it simple and stick with stuff from Joyetech, order the 510 T atomizer and the 510 T cartridges and try that out.

  7. Saw this article this morning about e-cig evangelists, pretty lame article

    http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/25/5445662/vape-life-welcome-to-the-weird-world-of-e-cig-evangelists

But, the guy from the article who's a DJ apparently recorded a mix for vaping to.

Is this what we're coming to guys? This is more ridiculous than when Macho Man Randy savage thought he could beat Hulk Hogan for the heavy weight title!

  8. From what I understand, there's a bunch of little hairs in your throat and lungs that normally help move mucus and gunk up and out of the lungs. When you smoke, these hairs burn off and that's why smokers get bronchitus and sinus infections because they have more mucus in their breathing system.

Once you stop smoking, these hairs begin to grow back and you'll begin to clear out your system (coughing)

  9. I went to Ball State from 2008 to 2012, while I was there smoking was limited to around 10 different designated smoking areas on campus (several of which were literally on the very edge of campus anyway). Seems like now they've gone full on tabacco ban. No smoking or even using chewing tobacco and... no electronic cigarettes either.

This upsets me, it was at BSU that I discovered e-cigarettes and the big appeal to me at first was the fact that I didn't have to adhere to rules of when and where I could "smoke." Although as I recall the only time I ever heard about someone getting fined for being outside of smoking areas was a guy who got in trouble for smoking pot. In addition to those charges, they also hit him with a $50 fine for not being in a designated smoking area :wallbash: I wonder how enforced this will be, regardless though troubling to see vaping being lumped in with smoking and banned

  10. Who ever bought cigarettes at CVS or Walgreen's anyways? I bought from there maybe 3 or 4 times, but always felt like their prices were much higher than just going to a gas station and buying there.

The specialty tobacco stores were always the best though, I'd love to go to a specialty vape store but the closest one to me is in a part of town that parking is an absolute nightmare.

  11. Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Brand Name tobacco flavor e-liquid. I haven't tried any of the liquid that claims to taste like a certain brand of cigarette, but I want to.

I used to smoke Camel and Pall Mall mostly, but once I was able to afford it I was smoking Parliment and American Spirits, usually light or medium.

  12. Started vaping my senior year of college, for about 2 months was strickly e-cig but started smoking off and on after that.

When I got out of college and started working full time I gradually slipped back into smoking a lot (well, around 6 cigarettes a day which seemed like a lot for me). Once my girlfriend moved in with me, I cut back to 2-3 cigarettes a day. Now since the start of Novement last year (almost 3 months) I've been vaping exclusively with no plans to go back to analogs. I've been sleeping way better (I snore... loudly) and I just feel better overall. I do feel like I vape a lot, but then I remember that it's, as far as we know, 95% safe so why not?

  13. So I was at work the other day when this guy I used to smoke with asked me for my lighter. Now I had one in my bag but it was next to some... stuff I don't want to flash around at work ;) so I said to him "... No, I don't smoke anymore man, electric all the way."

First time I've gotten to say I was using an ecig instead of smoking, and it felt good. It felt especially good because I know that I don't have to go outside 5 times a day in the below zero temperature, just take a few puffs at my desk and hold them in a little bit longer.

Just thought I'd share the story, do any of you all have any stories like that?
