SB 539 is getting its 2nd Reading in the Senate tomorrow, Thursday 2/5/15!!!
Start calling the switchboard (317-232-9400) and ask that your Senator be informed that you oppose SB 539 in its current form and ask that they support the bill going to a study session so that small businesses can have a part in this discussion. It only takes 5 minutes to #SaveTheVape!

Senate bill SB 539 is critical now as it has a scheduled committee hearing this Thursday, 1/29/15, at 9am. Hoosier Vapers are meeting in the lobby at 8:45am Thursday, 1/29/15, just past the security check. Please pitch in and let's show these senators that we will not be treated like this! -
Shawn of Cravin' Vapes has been "called out" by Tobacco Free Allen County at their Vaping: Dare to Know the Truth presentation on December 9th, 2014 in Fort Wayne at the Allen County Public Library.
This is a general call for Hoosier Vapers in the area to attend and lend your support for yourself and fellow vapers against their anti-ecig agenda. You must per-registar for a ticket, it's free though, so feel free to grab a ticket. They are giving away a free dinner, so it's a pretty good value for spending $0.
I am having trouble getting out of work on the 9th in time to make the trip up to Fort Wayne and get there by 6pm. Any vapers that live closer and/or can make it, please do so. Any, and all, help will be appreciated.

It's just a bunch of vapers hanging out and discussing vaping, equipment...sampling juice, talking builds, helping out new vapers, and we also get around to politics and the FDA at times. Sometimes there are some good natured spirited discussions and sometimes a vendor gives the club something to raffle off.
Every third Saturday of the month. It's very casual and laid back. A dripper or plain atomizer with a drip tip is a good thing to have if you want to sample juice.
(Sorry it took me so long to get back here. I've had some computer issues and finally had to break down and buy a new one and I just got around to importing all my old bookmarks.)

Monthly Meet & Greet.
The Hoosier Vapers are having monthly gatherings every 3rd Saturday of the month at the Silver Bullet Sports Bar located at 410 Main St., Beech Grove, IN. We start at 4pm and usually wrap-up about 8pm.
These are casual affairs.

Because my dood its safe to test your nicotine from what I've read people get stronger stuff then what they pay for...
A few more questions if I may..
1)Is the percent of flavoring you put in your juice generally the same? Between 15%-20%?
2)what if I add vitamins? if you use vitamins how much do you add?
3) And my original question if anyone has ever tested their nicotine...Is there a limit to how many drops of bromothymol I should use? the video didn't give a definite answer and he wasn't testing 100mg nicotine.
Also for whatever its worth I appreciate the advice everyones giving me, its helped, thank you!
1) After the recipe is developed, yes it's the same. My recipes range from 0.35% to 35% total flavoring. This may seem counter-intuitive, but too much flavoring can mean less flavor.
2)I would never add vitamins to my juice. Too much frickin' research to find the flash points, possible compound forming with a heat catalyst, and coil gunking. Besides, I've seen the volume of vitamins I swallow and even going through 30ml's a week, there is no way I can vape enough that I would get any benefit from a tiny amount of vitamins in my juice.
3)I test it by mixing it down and tasting it. The nicotine tests were not available when I started mixing and developed my own technique which concentrates more on flavor, but if it is off too far, I think I'd be able to tell. (4mg/ml difference in my finished juice is something I notice)

Yep, I would call a mod made from an old nintendo controller odd and cool too.
The oddest thing I saw in Beech Grove was a genny type RBA that had pie-like segments that were screwed in the chamber area to reduce the chamber volume or removed to allow more space for double coils. Can't remember the name of the thing though...I'm horrible with names.

Hey folks!
Randy just sent the council a notice that Pure Vape Indy, located at 1602 S. Banner Ave., Indianapolis, is having a grand opening and vape meet on Sunday, September 29th starting at 10:00 am.
Food and drink will be there for all who attend. .There are door prizes, a raffle for a mechanical mod, and a Chasing Clouds competition with a mod being given to the contestant who vapes the biggest cloud.
The shop is just off W. Washington Street right next to Thortons gas station on the north side of the road.
I’m just glad I don’t have to judge the Chasing Clouds competition! .It should be fun to watch though.

50c is what, about 120F? That's not a bad temp for 10 minutes or so. Over that time frame it can do some odd stuff to some juice.
I've got a blueberry muffin recipe that sat in a car at about that temp for a whole day, it became a bitter caramel taste. And dark, darn near black. Nasty. It actually didn't have any impact on the Cuban cigar juice that was there too.
You never know until you know...

Seems kind of odd that there are two groups in the same region? Maybe it's a good thing since that means more choices for the vapers in the northwest?

I'm mostly on the forums to promote vape meets for the Hoosier Vapers club, so I'm at lots of places.
There are enough mixers on ECF that I don't have to answer many questions there....besides, I think folks learn more about mixing by making mistakes and figuring out what went wrong.
I never would have suspected you burnt your mix, but I don't use much heat to mix, so would never think of such a thing.

Shady Side would be the closest to you. The last Steel City Vapers in Northwest Indiana was 9/7. Quite simply, I had not heard of Shady Side until today. I know nothing about them. If you go to that meet, let me know what you discovered?

Youins have any meetings up near Gary at all?
Mandycat has fairly regular meets in the Valpo area, so we haven't tried to make a meet happen in the northwest.
If you're not familiar with her stuff, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up the last event announcement she put out. (She is not associated with the Hoosier Vapers and her meets are different than ours.)

All Vapers rally at the statehouse this Monday, 2/23/15, starting at 9:00 am in the rotunda. (Just past security check-in) Come prepared to stay all day.
Second reading of SB 539 & HB 1432 is scheduled to happen Monday 2/23/15.
We need to make sure our amendments are included and we can help by having bodies at the statehouse!
What is happening?
SB 539 and HB 1432 in their current forms would eliminate a vast majority of vape shops, even online only shops, in the state of Indiana. The second readings scheduled for Monday, 2/23/15, are the time when amendments can be put on these bills. The Hoosier Vapers have been working with the sponsors of SB 539 and HB 1432 to produce amendments that are good for the vaping consumer and shops. Important! A showing of vapers can help to make sure amendments that are good for vapers will be included and may help to make sure amendments that could add taxes and bans are NOT added.
Why such late notice?
We are getting close to the second half of the Indiana General Assembly. They usually want all the bills to be through the 3rd reading before Wednesday 2/25/15 so things happen fast.
How can you help yourself and all vapers?
Show up. Be seen. Be respectful.
