Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of working with the VT warehouse to drop a number of outdated items while bringing in a lot of new inventory. Most of the new inventory should arrive within the next 1-2 weeks.

If you'd like to make any requests along with the price you'd like to see that item for in the store, don't hesitate to PM me or post below and I'll make sure we get it in stock asap :)

Currently trying to find two IStick 50w and all the vendors I usually deal with are out of stock I have been paying $34.95 for the base kit (battery only, got chargers). This has never happened Beth Ann managed to kill two of ours at the lake over the weekend. I have a couple backups that sometimes turn themselves off and you have to turn them back on she is using until I can find replacements. You know me well and know we are hard on batteries. Saltwater on the beach all day, floating in the lake getting splashed and my clumsy but loving wife would drop herself if that were possible lol.

Do you have any on the way?

And I use Davide tanks that use Aspire BVCs (not Nautilus coils the standard Aspire BVC) I usually get 1.6ohms for $7.95 a 5 pack or $7.00 a 5 pack if I order a box of ten

Other than our liquid that's about all the hardware we order but would love to order them from you.

We've got the 60w and the 40w but not the 50w. Our 40w is 35.00. But I'm sure I could probably bring a couple 50w's into stock :) (Though it'll take a week or so to get them in)

These are the BVC coils we have at the moment: https://www.vaportalkstore.com/product/single-aspire-atlantis-bvc-coil/

If any of those work, I can probably whip up a coupon. I just took the VT store back over and in addition to cleaning out some OLD stuff I'm adjusting pricing. So if something seems off to you, let me know as I might not have had a chance to adjust the price yet.

Also some of our titles are out of date (IE: They are listed as an older version of XYZ coil but we actually carry the newer version. Most of that I should have updated by the end of the evening)

Just wanted to follow up on this. Looks like we already carried them in the retail store (there's a ton of items in the retail store not yet listed online...) I'll have those into the system by the end of night :)

It means I get to clean up the **** show that has become the VT online store ;) Basically from here on out I'll control the inventory, sales, pricing etc just like the good old days. I'll still have to clear things with the powers at be and I'm always at the stronghold of the wholesaler but mostly I'll be able to get thing back up to date.

Here's what's been done so far:

  • In the last week I've cleared out old stock and put it into the discontinued category. This cleans up the main categories and also improves search. (Otherwise you search for something and old stuff comes up.) This was the first big step.
  • Clearanced tons of items that should be, placed orders for lots of new goodies we really should be carrying. Additionally there are a number of items available in the retail stores not showing online (so far most have been added aso of this evening). I've seen tickets in which customers asked "when will you carry XYZ?" We've had it...for months. Just not showing online.
  • The pricing is very outdated on many items. I'm going through each one and updating it to the lowest price we can comfortably offer. (Of course as the product moves and we receive better wholesale prices, that will reflect in the final price)  I'll likely need help from customers on items they feel are priced incorrectly. Some I'll adjust and some may simply not be possible depending on what wholesale was used. This is about 50-60% done.
  • I'll use my wholesale accounts (I kept most of them) which means I can offer lower prices to our customers. (Perhaps not always the lowest but much better than they've been)
  • Employees must ship orders within 24 hours or face the wrath that is the bald godfather. Support times are also now on point. (As they should be)
  • Vapor Talk US liquids are now up. And honestly they are very good. This took up most of my time this year.

Interestingly, we had a number of newer items in the warehouse but the online store showed older versions with the new pricing. For example here was a real winner: We had Triton coils (the old ones) shown online but actually what was shipped was the clapton coils. So to a customer you'd see an old product that had simply been updated to a new pricing (clapton pricing). This was done by the POS users that simply updated the price but never updated the title and descriptions. So it looked like we were charging outrageous prices for old items.  You'd have loved to be a fly on the wall for that phone call!

Unknown to most customers, we have quite a few retail outlets that don't all use the VT name. We also sell in a number of countries. The US store however has been mostly neglected. Not on purpose I suppose. It was quite disheartening to see what a mess things were but I love efficiency and things are moving along quickly. The forum has had a ton of patches to fix odd weird glitches, the online store has been heavily updated and patched and the products will all be adjusted, descriptions update etc by mid week. (And I only started 5-6 days ago on it)

Then I get to order new toys woo hoo! It's an exhausting process as mentioned but we'll get there. I've already gotten the nickname Steve Jobs. How kind lol But I genuinely want, correction, will restore the store to it's former glory. Besides I enjoy doing it.

EDIT: In case you haven't noticed above, I also like talking to everyone as if we've known each other for years. Larger stores probably wouldn't openly admit their issues but I find the whole corporate thing insulting. So instead, I just post "hey so looks like we screwed up, let's have some coffee and work it out"

Chris,

First of all, THANK YOU for what you are doing. I have worked retail in a niche market (RC cars/trucks/what ever) and I know how hard it can be, but you seem to be going further and relishing taking on the responsibility of owner, sales rep and legal leasion (Probably not the totally proper word, plus I can't spell and auto correct doesn't give me an option I like) that is taking on fighting for the entire industry of vaping.

Also, I like the way you speak your mind. I can't begin to count the times I have told my bosses and co-workers not to say "I don't know" when they do, "Just tell me you can't answer the question because you have been told not to say anything."

I will be checking out the VT store more often just because of this thread. I am a bargain shopper and tend to go for the good deals and buy in bulk. I will how ever add an item that may be more expensive at a place that has good deals to my cart if I can get it in one shipment. For example I see one of the forum advertisers have a sale on say Kanger subtank coils, I will look for a mod I have had my eye on, on their site, and see it's $5.00 more than other sites but I just saved $10 or $15 buy ordering 4 5 packs of coils on sale. I will add the mod to my order and make one payment, i am even more inclined to do so if that mod purchase puts me over the edge for free shipping. I think there are many others that do the same. I understand that it is more work for the store (you at this point in the game, but you are training your people I am sure) but with your wholesaler status you may be able to do some of the same.

Thanks I really appreciate that! Boss, doctor, Dad, webguy thing all in one. (I'll change my name to Frank Abagnale) You're right, the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes it's just mind numbing. Especially trying to sync the retail stores with the online stores. But every problem has a solution as they say. And the employees.... lol The staff is actually awesome and thankfully my wife keeps me calm. Just the other day I said to her "That's it, I'm using our UA points to fly out there and fire everyone. Twice." :D But I know at the end of the day, no employee will be as passionate about the business as you are thinking back on the times you sat in a 10x10 spare bedroom.

And thanks for considering the store again. It's going to take a lot of work to really restore everyone's faith in us. We'll screw up again no doubt but what I've learned it's not that you made the mistake it's how you handle it. (I used to call up customers one by one for a chat. That hasn't happened in years. Plus I get to speak with people all over the country which is awesome)

As for the regulation... I think many people just sort of "hope and pray." For me I wake up, read the news, see new regulations and think "go ** yourself" then make calls to see what we can do to either get around it (legally..) or come up with another solution. (Like the whole online age verification. I'm not asking for DL's and blood types. There are other options like at the door signatures and I'll try to figure out a way we can eat the cost.)

And Utah... anyone see that law? Those residing in Utah can longer purchase from outside of the state from what I understand. They can only purchase within the state from something like 6 approved stores. Those stores then have the right to sue outside vendors shipping into the state. *shakes head* I'm looking forward to the big venture we have in China going full bore so I can use their plethora of suits and ties to counter sue anyone that bulls that BS. If not just for the social media storm that would come hailing down on those retailers. The bigger Vapor Talk becomes the more I feel we have a responsibility to watch the members back, not screw them. (These retailers forget they're screwing over the same people that put them there in the first place. What kind of logic is that)

*rant over* Anyway, been doing this since 2007/2008 most of these stores are newbies in my eyes.;)

@bcartervol98 As promised the new coils are up in the store: https://www.vaportalkstore.com/product/aspire-clearomizer-bvc-replacement-coils/

I normally would have sold these around 9.99 but put them on permanent sale at 7.95. I'll also see about getting some kind of Volume system put into the store so we can offer bulk discounts. This would probably be a great idea for those that do stock up orders.

Also let me know next time you plan to place an order with us (PM me so we can sync up) and I'll throw in some of the new Vapor Talk Black Line liquids for you to try out :)

Adding insult to injury there, it seems like the entity who gets to "approve" the vendors only approved the stores that have some connection to them -- that no one has ever heard of before. Can you say 'conflict of interest'? The window of time to put in your application was so small and the paperwork was so extensive, many vendors, even if they wanted and could afford to, couldn't get their application completed in time. I see a class action law suit in the wings....

I hope so. It was Brian from VV that gave me the heads up so I'm still trying to figure out the legalities. But even still such a shady move. We don't have too many customers in Utah but I really feel for those stores that will likely shut down as a result of the law change.

Additionally, I don't see how Utah can force store outside of state from shipping in as it is a direct violation of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution, which gives Congress the sole power to regulate interstate trade.

Wait?  You have to buy from only an approved vendor?  Ummm, yeah... that will be one HUGE class-action suit in the making.

That would be like my state government saying you can only buy gas from one of a dozen Shell stations or milk from 100 approved grocery stores.  Last time I checked we are a FREE NATION of FREE PEOPLE... this is not the United Socialist States!

If I had a vape store in Utah, I'd remain open and DARE the state or feds to close me down... they'd have to burn me to the ground first, but then again, I'm about fed up with all this government overreach (not just in the vaping world)!!

There's already been a number of cases and this type of thing in the supreme court before. For example some years ago New York tried to make it illegal to purchase milk outside of New York basically creating a default monopoly. It was overruled. Basically like mentioned above it would be a violation interstate trade. So I really can't see how such a thing is legal.

They can however place a ban online sales for those within the state. How they plan to enforce this, I'm not sure.
