Check this little bugger out!  It's about the size of a lipstick tube.  20700 hybrid mech pipe bomb.  Great for collecting finger prints.

This may sound crazy, but I am actually excited about my next check-up.  I will have had close to a year in and will have been at 3mg for half of that time when the appointment occurs.  I'm not going to say a word about vaping until we get toward the end of the check-up.  I want to see if the Doc catches anything on his own.  I may be disappointed but that has happened before.

Just a tip! TC loves airflow.  Too little airflow action makes coil ceiling out at max temp and shuts it down.  That's just my experience and my advice on getting most out of TC. YMMV.

The newer Smok devices are providing pretty good TC.  Have you found a power setting you like in power mode?  What I mean by that is a power setting that gives you a good ramp up time and satisfying beginning of the vape.  I would start with that setting in TC mode for the wattage setting.  Every mod is different but in general the power setting in TC mode should provide 1.  The maximum power applied during a vape. You will want to have the setting high enough for the coil to reach your set temperature.   2.  Be a function of how fast your coils heat up.  In mods that do TC well you will be able to set the power higher than the power to achieve your set temperature and decrease your ramp up time.  3.  Some mods with a preheat setting will further boost or decrease the initial power to modify the beginning of the "hit".

    I hope that makes sense.

You need to know that the burning point of cotton is around 430' Fahrenheit so you wanna be below that. Wattage shouldn't matter as your mod should throttle the power to regulate the temperature but too low a power will make the coil take longer to hit peak temperature. I can't give a better understanding than that myself as I've only tinkered with temp control but that would be the basics.

Can't say enough good about this Therion, I absolutely love this thing!

I see all these Limited Editions with the Snakeskin options so I decided I needed a Limited Edition.
I found an Ostrich leg purely on eBay.

Quick update:  If you do decide to try this mod and use TC with Stainless go to DJLsb's website.  Go into his Escribe section and download his modified SS316 profile.  Does a nice job of getting things up to temp.

So what do you do when you get a sexy new polished SS mech mod and all of your tanks are black?

You take a black tank and sand all the paint off and polish it!

Finally got my hands on one! Ijoy Captain Pd270 mod, and i must say I am in love. It runs up to 234 watts, has temp control and is stable down to 0.05 ohms. It runs the new 20700 batteries, but also comes with an adapter for 18650.

If you're not filling your tank, it's a good possibility that you burned your wick, which will give you the burning sensation when you take a draw. This is not a dripper type of tank, it's made so that it holds liquid. You need enough liquid to keep your wick wet. I would change out your heating coil, refill the tank and let it sit for a few minutes to let the liquid soak into your wick and then try vaping it again. Start with a low wattage, vape. If that doesn't give you satisfactory results, increase the wattage/power by just a bit and vape. Repeat until you get just a hint of a burning taste, back down your watts a bit and that should be the sweet spot for that coil and juice.

    Hi!
Iam really new to vaping and know nothing. I bought a Smok v8 stick. The first time I tried it, it was good but the second time a used it , it started to create a burning sensation in my throat. I never filled my tank to the fullest and I usually just pour 5-6 drops. The liquids Vg and pg are 60VG/40PG. So please tell me how to reduce this sensation.

    Thanks for your time.

Regulated mods (ones where you set voltage/wattage/temperature) have a really good track record, but there's also that rare one that has a fault, or one that someone has modified or done something stupid with...
Mechanical mods (where you press a button that makes the battery contact and complete a circuit) have a good track record too... IF THEY ARE USED CORRECTLY, and people aren't being stupid... like trying to fire a 0.05 Ohm coil, or using batteries that cannot handle the Amp demands their coil is pulling.  Explosions were still uncommon even years ago, before battery technology became better!
Like @Tam said, most problems are with cheap Chinese batteries, knock-off batteries, damaged batteries, or where someone pops a battery into their pocket or purse (unprotected) and loose metal manages to make contact between the positive and negative posts, creating a run-away discharge/venting.
There's no reason to panic... your mod is 99.9999% safe if used correctly AND you are using a good, reputable battery of the correct Amperage specification for your coil needs.  Stick with Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. batteries, and make sure they are at least 20A... and you should be fine for all your vaping needs.

As previously stated it's highly unlikely for a regulated mod to blow unless it has been damaged or if there is a flaw with the design. Most "mods" that blow are mechanicals and my view, based on the front line header news with barely any technical input, is that these are scare stories designed to turn people away from vaping.

Highly unlikely.  There's a lot involved, but to keep it short, if you are using a regulated mod you are very safe.  There is one mod out right now that seems to have a flaw.  The HCigar VT75C seems to have a problem with the battery housing.  If a long (66mm or longer) 26650 battery is used in the mod the top of the housing can become fatigued and short out the battery.  The battery/mod will melt down pretty quickly.
