Sheeesh with all these regs.
Come to think of it, I do not think there is single industry in the U.S., and perhaps all of N. America that is not regulated. Sure they may be emerging industries that is not monitored but eventually will be regulated, just like vaping. I am neither pro or against regs... just an observation.
Industries will screw consumer when they can - VW and Mistubishi diesel EPA data manipulation, Tata airbags, Starkist tuna settling $50M for consistently underfilling their cans according to US weights and measurements standards, etc. This is just the past year or so. More often than not, it is way cost effective settling suits/fines than spending $$$ correcting their mistakes, or simply a calculated risk factored in their profit margins.By and large, regs protect both consumers and businesses. They can be over zealous, and way too bureaucratic sometimes. Regs do change with the industry given time.
With that out of the way, it really is all $$$. I think that was obvious as FDA regs, as it is right now, favors closed-end systems. Everything else outside of that you have to jump through hoops to mfr it, sell it, and using it... all the associated costs gets passed on to the consumer. -
I loved my E-Mechs!! They are solidly built. I had 3 when they first came out, and I have long ago pif'd them away. 2 of the 3 are still working great I'm told. The other one was lost. RDAs great on this mod, but keep in mind it is only 30W so it is dependent on coil build. IIRC, I used mainly magma and vulcan RDAs, and orrchid RTA on this one when I had it.
@earthling It's a dual cell series, not parallel. Thisis why Emech never had the chance to take off. They came in very late with the 30W. By the time this was released, the wattage war has already started.For 15 bucks, call yourselves a bandit. It's a steal.

It's funny seeing ABC officers for the very first time. I am hanging out at a cousin's bar, actually pitching in so he can pick-up his kids from school and drop m off at home, and ABC walks in. You could not tell them apart from local LE unless you look closely at the patch and badge. We were shooting the breeze while waiting for my cousin, and I asked how come ATF or simply local LE are not handling it. They just laughed. Local LE has no time, and ATF only deals with high profile cases.
As friendly as they were, my cousin was cited because I was bartendting without a license. Not sure opening 2 bottles of beer is considered as bartending. lol -

I would have gladly bought most of my vape gear here, but had to source mine elsewhere due to selection. Looking forward to new stuff at VT.

Not sure how they will enforce that other than creating a new agency - probably similar to ABC (alcoholic beverage control}. ABC does random inspections of bars, or any establishment that serves alcohol. They check permits, supplier invoice, and inventory among other things. They want to make sure the supply chain is legit (no moonshine, fakes, or using sources that did not pay excise tax).
Who knows, maybe we will see a new agency to monitor and enforce laws on the vaping industry? -

Majority of vapers' concern is running out of juice, or vaping gear malfunctioning inopportunely, and not having back-ups on hand as it could drive one back to analogs, if it were to happen. If you already have reliable back ups, you can pick up supplies on your own terms, or when disposable funds are more readily available. Within 2 years, you will be surprised how much "back-ups" you can have.
I am a prepper. Not just in vaping but as a lifestyle. So I have a lot more than an average vaper have. I have not purchased any vape supplies and gear in 4 mos, and really do not need anything else (35+ mods, and lost count on how many atomizers I currently own lol) unless something shiny catches my eye, or it is on sale. Building my own coils and making my own juice helps a lot too, and makes hoarding supplies more manageable. I still buy premium juice just to try something new, and lots of great deals come 4th of July (if you are in the US). -

TSA is very inconsistent following their own protocols. Just my observation in flying an average of 6-8 times/year. Twice I was waved through without even taking my belt and shoes off., and once I was taken off the security check queue for a cursory pat down ( I did not set off any alarm since I was still in line).

Question, if for some reason the grandfather date gets moved to 2016 or some arbitrary date later than 2007, that still only pertains to atomizers holding no more than 2 ml, and mods with non-replaceable cells, right?

I have not kept up with any new flight rules. Just got back from Taiwan 2 mos. ago, and did not encounter any problems. I just packed my 2 mods and RTAs in their original packaging, 8 cells in protective cases, and a 30ml juice in my hand carry. Bulk juice, spare wicks and coils in my regular luggage.
On my return flight, I forgot to pack my mod, RTA (full of juice), and cells in their respective packaging, but I wasn't even asked about them. But I may have been just lucky...

That's great FX. Definitely a much better option if you can do it yourself. The v2 uses a patented packaging that does need argon. I read somewhere (maybe reddit?) that someone was sourcing those bottles. I will look for it when get some time to see if he or they have found a source. But i think you might need another equipment to vacuum seal it.

It's a blow but not a knock out punch. The Cal Dept of Pub Health isn't fooling anyone. They can keep cutting there own throats as far as I'm concerned. These big propaganda machines eventually crash. Maybe it'll lead to some truth and reform in California. One can hope, I guess.
I totally agree with this sentiment! CA Health Dept., and all other state health depts. for that matter villify vaping in order to justify excise tax on vaping gear and liquids, or failing that, favor BT close-end systems, and banning all open-end systems altogrether.
Vaping community should stand in solidarity instead of divided into separate factions. I have not been vaping long but since I started, I noticed polarization within the community ... sub-ohm/high wattage/cloud chaser/hobbyists VS non-subohm/low-wattage/flavor chaser/ and I vape to quit/save $ camps.
It is not as bad as it once was, but at one point it was as rampant and as brutal as body shaming just because one's methodology does not align with his/her vaping style. Does nothing but foment division instead of focusing on fight regulation/self-regulation.
I am going to catch some heat for saying this, but there are times when I feel the industry needs to be regulated. You have vape shops that sells mech mods and sub-ohm tanks combo, retailers still selling questionable battery cells , etc Even hair stylist have a license... just to ensure that they have gone through basic training and your scalp does not burn, or hair falls out when they use various chemicals used in hair dyes, perms or hair straightening. The same should be applied to vape gear hawkers, or at the very least, vape shop owners train their employees well, or if they are lazy, just include a pamphlet regarding battery safety and ohm's law with every purchase.

In my experience, horizontal coils in general do have more restrictive airflow compared to verticals since you block the air hole a bit. With vertical builds or factory coils, the air hole is almost unobstructed. That is with 2.5 - 3mm ID and 24 to 22G wires.
Perhaps others who build with higher gauge wires and using 2mm or less ID have a different experience?
I only tried their triple, quad coils, and their RBAs ( RCA, single and dual), so I cannot speak of their newer coils. I love the triple and quads despite what seems like shorter lifespan compared to batches I received when they first came out.

I watched the whole video just now and cannot find what others are referring to. I see him mention a multi-vitamin and electrolytes which helps him with hydration, and he may just be misinformed with his self-diagnosis of hyperthyroid. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion... no different from other reviewers chugging bottled water or other beverages while doing a reviews. No one calls them out on strategic product placement.
Now, if RT starts a whole video on feminine products, then yes, I would have to agree that it could be purely advertising as it has nothing to do with vaping.I think it is just tacky competitor calling each other out.
It is not professional. Imagine if eleaf and kangertech slams each others' products, they'd probably lose more business with all the drama they stir up.

Congrats on quitting analogs for good!
TFV4 coils need a lot of wattage. On the triple/quad coils, in my experience, 50-60W is minimum to get it going without flooding it and later cause leaking out of the AFC. 70-75W is my sweet spot, and I have read others going 100W+ on it. Tank can get really hot but I just let it rest.
FXRich is is right though. You might need a higher wattage mod for the TFV4. Although your Sigelei 75W is capable. For me however, I generally do not go above 75% of what my mod is capable of just to make it last longer.
Regarding coils burning faster, depends of the quality of the coil you get. When I first got mine coils could go through 120+ml of juice before replacing it. Lately the coils only go through about half that amount. Maybe because of a bad batch or they do not make the same quality as the ones they first came out with. But that is just my observation. Other may be luckier than me.

I stand corrected.
Some flavorings contain ethyl alcohol. I, too, mix my own juices in large batches ( 600ml is my smallest batch) since I share with my friends. I do not use flavorings in oil or emulsions as a preference. Just like in cooking, alcohol evaporates leaving only flavor. Probably the same happens when you vaporize it. If you are concerned about a drug test, call JC and ask if whatever juice you purchased contains alcohol of some kind, and if it does maybe just not vape it until the test is over with.

I would probably not use and announce comp's business model post 8/8, for privacy/security reasons. Not being a nanny or telling y'all hat to do.
Just looking out for fellow vapors' well-being and their means of earning a living.
