    I tried the e-cig route... hated it...

    The batteries don't have much capacity, nor do the cartomizers... the vapor production (and taste) dropped off to nothing, quickly... and the price for disposables was costing me more than actual smoking! The rechargeables were just not cutting it too (prices were outrageous compared to an eGo-style kit), and lack of "flavor" offerings is soooo limited for e-cigs, compared to vaping.

    The only advantage to e-cig for me was they were small and don't draw the attention my larger eGo battery and clearomizer do in public places.

    "Be Prepared"... The Boy Scout Motto!

    When I'm "out and about", I always carry a spare eGo battery and coil, and sometimes I'll even bring a spare tank and 10ml of juice, too...

    You never know when you'll have failure of equipment, breakage, or bet out longer than you expect.

    I've seen mine change up or down 0.1 Ohms on a regular basis, which I'm sure is due to "rounding error" or the general accuracy of the MOD's meter... I usually don't pay much attention to it. I've tested a couple of my coils against a friend's REAL coil-meter, and there was a difference between the two. For accuracy, I would trust a real coil-meter over the MOD's meter any day!

    Like BigClouds said, a resistance change doesn't necessarily mean it is going bad, although a large jump higher would lead you to believe failure is close. Carry an extra coil just in case, but it may continue to function just fine for another day... or another week... or even longer.

    I checked out the link, and the first thing I thought was "this isn't a compact box!"... I like the look of the tank, though... but coils are probably $3 each, lol. And the "knob" for selecting your settings looks exactly like the knob that adjusts tension on the strap-mechanism on my motorcycle's cup-holder Personally, I think it detracts from the sleek, tube-style look...

    It's probably a good unit, but hardly the box-style, and definitely not as compact as the VTR!

    And yes, I'm still holding out for a Titanium Blue VTR... or at least one in Brushed Black! C'mon Innokin... Start producing the VTR in at least some of the color options from the MVP line-up!

    Yeah, it's toast. The KPT 1 used glue to put them together. Once the KPT 1 dies, you're better off tossing it.

    Starting with the KPT2, Kanger ProTanks are fully capable of dis-assembly and replacement of glass, o-rings, etc.

    The eGo-C battery is a static 3.7V, and using a 1.2 ohm coil means you're unit was pulling near 11.5 Watts (and 3.1A) to fire that coil... I don't know the specs/limits of that battery, but I'm guessing 11.5W / 3.1A is well beyond the safety-zone. Actually, my MVP 2.0 VV/VW battery has a cut-off limitation of 11.0W, so to fire a 1.2 Ohm coil on that MOD, I'd be forced to use lower voltage... even if I set the voltage to 5.0V on a 1.2 Ohm coil, the battery would auto-limit Voltage to 3.63V and cap at 11.0W to prevent damage to the battery (and me)!

    A 1.5 Ohm coil @ 3.7V is pulling 9.1W and 2.5A (within the capability of the battery)... and the lowest resistance coil I would risk on an eGo battery.... Just my opinion

    You're very lucky the eGo-C has over/under protection circuitry... which is why it no longer functions... otherwise, that 1.2 Ohm coil could have caused the battery to pop in your hand, inches from your face!

    I agree with everyone else... with factory coils running under a buck each, and if you're going to use a static-output eGo battery... stick with factory coils until you have the equipment and know-how to safely build and TEST your own coils.

    Be safe! Get a good "coil meter", know your battery's limitations, and make use of an Ohm's Law Chart!

    Well said Bebop... I second the recommendation for a Kanger EVOD starter kit... either with the standard 650mAh batteries or 1000mAh twists. If I'm not mistaken, these kits come with everything you need, including 5 or 7 atomizer coil/heads... Just buy your e-juice and you'll be on your way!

    There are other good starter kits out there, too... but the EVOD kits are probably the best 'bang-for-your-buck'.

    I've been putting my eGo's upright on my desk, but each time I knock one over, I expected to see a shattered tank... laying them flat was okay, but I just prefer them to be standing straight

    Personally, I never liked the little plastic stands they sell at the local vape-shop, and hadn't decided on dropping money for a wooden stand, when I feel I can make one for pennies, and have it fit my needs better anyway... alas, I've not (yet) taken the time to build something big, but I still needed something for my eGo's to reside in on my desk....

    So, today I was cleaning some odds-and-ends out of my storage boxes and ran across two of those nice, 2" round closet-door handles that I never used (wife wanted pretty ceramics, instead). The handles are solid pine, and nothing fancy, but gave me a great idea for re-purposing them!

    I cut some 2" rounds out of another piece of pine (using a hole-saw)... ran a dowel through the hole in the round, into the hole where you would normally mount the handle with a screw... a little glue, and now, they won't tip over!

    I drilled a 9/16" hole for the battery to reside in (perfect fit, BTW)... light sanding, a dab of neutral stain... and now I have two, personalized eGo battery stands!

    Cost was nothing, and gave me something to do for 30-minutes this afternoon. What do you think?

    That's not a huge issue for me at the moment... I'm only running two main flavors, and a granny-smith apple to "cleanse my pallet". But, using different colors is a really good idea for keeping things straight as I try more flavors! Thanks for the tip (pun intended )

    Now I have the excuse to buy more tanks, and a bunch of drip-tips

    WOW, Glad I took everyone's advice and tried one on my KPT2! They're like a whole new tank with the AeroBase...

    Next time I find a good deal on AeroBases, I guess I'll have to stock up, because I plan to pick up a few more KPT2's when I can catch them on sale

    Sadly, even "good" equipment can fail, too, but not as fast, often, or violently as the cheap-o's.

    This is the one thing that does bother me about my eGo chargers... both have brand-markings, both have model numbers, but neither have UL certification... as is the case with MOST things from China. This is why I only charge them when I can watch them, check them often for heat build-up, and plug them into a protected outlet using a UL certified 120V AC > 5V DC @ 1A USB adapter (not my PC's USB port). I have also considered building my own "charging cage" for them as an extra precaution.... feeding voltage to a self-contained, shielded, protected, and insulated charging "box"... so if something shorts or blows-up, the risk will be minimized.

    I think what bothers me more than anything is the stupidity and arrogance of the "council" to set regulations on something they are not experts on, nor do they have any hard, empirical evidence to prove / support their actions. 18 would be a good start... but some people need to start higher, say, 24mg...

    The consensus is normally as follows:
    24mg = Full flavor cigarettes/cigars (Marlboro Red, Camel, Swisher-sweets, etc)
    18mg = Lights
    12mg = Ultra Lights
    6mg = Super Ultra Lights
    0mg = Kinda obvious

    If 24mg is too much, but 18 is too little, buy the same juice in 24mg and 18mg and mix them 1:1 (or blend flavors in the same manner) to get ~21mg of nicotine.

    I smoked standard cigars, which were high in nicotine content, but found that 24mg was too high for me in e-juice. 18mg seems to be just right... and in some juices, I even have to cut the 18's down with lower nic levels or they give me a headache (buzz).

    To the OP...

    I understand your concerns for their safety, but I'm not sure I'd go the route of a safe, unless I had the need for one for my stocks, bonds, loose cash, and jewelry (not that I have any of those things, lol).

    But, if you want a reasonably secure "box", you might invest in a fire-proof document box... they lock, and nobody would think twice about one on the shelf. I do have a couple of those in the house... for deeds, titles, marriage/birth certificates, etc. Another option which would be inconspicuous would be a "money box"... cheap lock, yes, but still a lock.... and your juices would probably fit "upright" in it, to prevent any leakage from bad lids. Toss it in the closet, kitchen cabinet, or on a shelf and nobody would probably even notice it?

    One constant in the universe is that "locks keep honest people honest, but never stop the determined"... and sometimes a locked box/cabinet only piques curiosity.... like hanging a neon sign....

    I have teens in and out of my house too... my e-juice is on the shelf in my office, batteries on my desk, and even the liquor is unlocked (but in a cabinet out of the way of prying eyes)... Nobody has ever attempted to bother them. Then again, this is Kentucky... and we tend to leave shotguns on the kitchen table here too,

    I guess I've got good kids (and their friends). They don't bother my guns (but know how to use them), drink my liquor, smoke my cigars (when I had them around), and they don't bother my e-cigs/e-juices.... They'd rather spend their on the computer, Xbox, PS3, or phone

    And points #4 and #5 seem to be an issue lately, don't they (not just on the forum)? Noob's chasing huge clouds is not something new though... just like guys who drop $15K on a fancy, over-powered sport-bike (without learning how to ride first) with the sole purpose of popping wheelies and doing 'stoppies' because they look cool on youtube "SQUIDs", in the bike-world... I still have Ce4 tanks, which I use for trying new flavors... the Ce5 is the same tank, but with replaceable coils. They are both top-coil units, which give you a warmer vape (coil is closer to your mouth), but as the tank gets lower and lower, you have to keep tipping it sideways to "load the wicks", which leads to dry or burnt hits. I also find the Ce4's to be a much tighter draw, which is what some people like.

    I will agree with the others... the EVOD kit is a much better starter... I wish the EVODs were an option for me when I bought my first kit! Check other online vendors for prices. I've seen EVOD starters with two batteries and two tanks for as low as $24.99 (up to $59.99 at brick-and-mortar shops), and you want your first kit to be a good one, so you'll not be discouraged with vaping. You WILL, eventually get hooked on the hobby and find yourself buying tanks, coils, batteries, MODs, etc.... But, nothing says you have to go nuts and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars... an EVOD kit will give you LONG service, and many people are quite content with them as their daily workhorses.

    Must be buying them from my local retailer, lol... They're selling Ce4's to the sheeple for $7.99 each, all day long!

    Also, I'll add that the "tank" you're referring to (Ce4 style) is good for several refills, and typically last a week at minimum, up to 3-weeks... before the coil gives out or it gets gummed up (hard draw). Yes, they are disposable, but they are also VERY refillable, numerous times! Be aware they are plastic, and tend to crack/break/leak if you use e-juice that is citrus, mint, or cinnamon. I also hear that menthol flavors may cause problems in plastic.

    $20 for 10 is a bit high, even for eBay. The last dozen I bought (over a month ago, and still have 9 unused, one has been tossed, and two are in use) ran me $15 with free shipping from eBay.

    You bring up a good point... I don't think any of us can count "experimentation" with new flavors/brands. My first two weeks of vaping, I probably ran through half (or more) of each 10ml bottle I tried... at least a dozen of them, and some were emptied by trying combo-flavors... This is why I didn't start to notice my consumption had leveled to 20-25ml per week until after the first few weeks of experimenting, and after I had settled on my two preferred, all-day flavors.

    Something I've noticed that I had been doing.... if I get a flavor that is not to my liking, I'll try to mix it with something else to make it tolerable, or roll through it quickly, rather than toss it out or give it away... I'd rather use it, even if it is yucky, instead of toss that money into the trash-can I try to keep a 30ml bottle of Vanilla handy... mixing a little Vanilla into almost anything "bad" can make it a bit more palatable, at least IMO....

    Earthling789 got a reaction from VIAWOL in Innokin MVP 2.0 Operational Limitations - Graphs and Charts
    Based on another thread's discussion regarding the Innokin MVP 2.0's Voltage and Wattage limitations, I thought I'd post this up as a separate thread. Hopefully, it will help people out when choosing / selecting which Voltage / Wattage settings will properly function with their choice of Coil Resistance.

    This graph shows the Power-curve across the range of Coil Resistance and useable Voltage of the device:

    As you can see from the graph, there are some telling limitations of the device... being that (based on Coil selection), there are operational highs/lows or minimum/maximums for Voltage and/or Wattage, regardless of setting selections.

    Simply put, regardless of Voltage or Power selection (mode), based on the resistance of the Coil you are using, there are thresholds where the subsequent Voltage or Wattage minimum or maximum cannot be exceeded. Based on excessive selections, the device will default, up or down, to the closest Wattage (if in Voltage-mode) or Voltage (if in Power-mode) within it's operational parameters.

    Examples:
    A 1.0 Ohm coil will only fire at 3.30V in Voltage mode, providing 10.89W of power, or 11.0W in Wattage mode, using 3.32V maximum A 4.0 Ohm coil will only fire at minimum of 4.90V, up to 5.0V, and can only operate at 6.0W to 6.25W (max) A commonly used 1.5 Ohm coil cannot be operated at a Wattage setting below 7.5W, or exceed a Voltage setting above 4.1V A 2.4 Ohm coil will operate from 3.8V (@ 6.02W) to a maximum of 5.0V (@ 10.42W) or Wattage selection range from 6W (@ 3.79V) to a maximum of 10 Watts (@ 4.9V) A commonly used 2.2 Ohm coil is capable of operation from 3.63V through 4.92V, allowing for any Wattage selection Coils ranging from 1.9 Ohms to 2.2 Ohms are capable of operation at any Wattage setting of the device, but NOT all Voltage settings No Coil resistance is capable of operating across ALL Voltage settings without exceeding the minimum or maximum Wattage capabilities of the device
    Chart legend for charts below:
    RED numbers are outside the physical, operational limitations of the device, regardless of setting parameters higher or lower (example: A 1.0 Ohm coil set at 5.0V cannot physically fire more than 3.32V due to 11W maximum power restriction) BLUE shaded areas are within the physical, operational limitations of the device GREEN shaded areas are a middle-ground, sweet-spot of the operational parameters (not too high/low, but should not be considered "optimal" settings)
    Here is the chart which shows operational Voltage of the device, based on Wattage/Coil selection:
