Today's USPS delivery contained the last piece to complete my workingman's mod, the Grand Vapor Sentinel V3 Mechanical Mod clone from FastTech ($18.11). Under the hood, there's an AW IMR18350 battery from VaporKings ($8.95) & a Sigelei-K variable wattage module from Bucky's Bargain Vaping ($17.69). On top is a Kanger ProTank from The Veteran Vaper ($17.95).

Winnar! Just plugged it in again after intentionally using the same battery until it was dead again, plugged in at 10am and just went green a little before 3. Some residual liquid had dried on the contact I guess. I must have forgotten to swab off the contact on the battery at some point before plugging it in.

Good luck at Brick and Mortar shops giving good advice lol. I came here to learn how to undo the dumb things they had told me.

No biggie though, forum discussions are not for everyone. One has to have an open mind and be ready for differing opinions to get much out of it. Not sensing a lot of that here.

Well if its not 510 or Ego compatible, it is not any good on anything. Those are the only two connections there are afaik.

My bit of advice would be slow down. Take your time. Everything with vaping is not always perfect out of the box, and your tastes change over time. It is so easy now after 4 months of listening and studying. I know what I like, and what works best with what for me, and you will too but it is not going to be that easy. I have over 30 different delivery systems and 4 different types of Ego style batteries. Last night my wife and I listed 63 flavors of liquids we have tried and only 3 we love, and two that I like a little that she doesnt at all. There is a huge learning curve. Slow down and take it all in. Dont be so fast to judge products imo.

Airiness, not airiness, tighter draw, airy draw is all in the eyes of the beholder. There is a specific optimal way to hit each device and once you find out what that is, there is not a HUGE difference in the hit of vapor produced by any of them. Some are better built and lower maintenance than others, but every device has its own set of characteristics. You wouldnt drive a Corvette the same way you would drive a 1 ton truck. Same with vaping.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed into law an order stating that e-cigarettes, materials, and juices, are illegal to be sold to in the State of Illinois to persons under the age of 18. Granted, the two shops in my area both explicitly state no one under 18 allowed inside the shop. This even extends to parents bringing toddlers shopping with them. But there was no law on the books anywhere limiting the sale of e-cigarette products to adults only - it was the shops owners policies that limited it.

Looking back to when I started smoking, I am appalled at how easy it was for me to get cigarettes at the age of 15. And not just 15 made up to look good, to look older. Fifteen looking, well, like 15 year olds look at 11 at night when they're tired, and they just want a cigarette, or a 15 year old that's just walked a mile to get to a gas station that will sell to her (by an attendant that's maybe 18 tops). Hell, I even walked into a gas station in my high school girls show choir outfit (trust me, no one wears THAT dress willingly) and was sold cigarettes. Once I was 17, and had checking account, if I wrote checks at Quik Trip, they didn't even ask for ID on the check, I just had to put my social or DL# on the check. At THAT Quik Trip, I didn't get carded for cigarettes until I was 21, carrying a toddler in my arms, pregnant with child number 2, and I got pissed off that I had to set squirming toddler down (and I put him on the counter) so I could rifle around to get my license out of my wallet because I walked in, cash in hand for my gas and the pack of cigarettes I wanted to pick up.

I knew every place I could go to that I wouldn't get carded for cigarettes. The little quicky mart type thing near my home was a no go, because they'd seen me grow up, they knew I wasn't 18. The gas stations and hit n run near the high school were no gos because hey, high school kids are gonna want cigarettes, and I bet some of them are underage.

And at that time, in Illinois, stupidest law of all time, you had to be 18 to purchase cigarettes, but only 16 to possess cigarettes. BUT, at least nominally, students couldn't possess them on high school property. I heard of 1 girl my senior year that got sent to her assistant principle's office for possessing cigarettes on school property, but that was ONE girl. If they really wanted to bust kids for possessing cigarettes on school property, all they had to do was stand at the parking lot entrance and the back parking lot entrance, near where people gathered off campus to smoke before school and on lunch, and bust them when they came back on campus.

But I also remember the days when you could get a note from your mom, take it up to the store that said, "I can't get out due to being sick, having a sick baby, whatever, please let my daughter buy x cigarettes and bring them home to me" - my sister did that a couple times, had me get her cigarettes when her baby was sick.

They still make them , my daughters have them , but now they have them in ss too ,with locks

Frankly , smoking is a low class habit anymore ,yeah in the roaring 20's it may have looked sophisticated .But as time went on and we learned of all the dangers associated with smoking it is just plain dumb .most of us started smoking as dumb kids who either didnt know any better or thought we were invincible .ItS a fact -smokers are second class citizens in this decade most of us are or were desperate to quit. Were traveling unchartered waters here yes they(e cigs) are deemed safe .....for now . but then so were cigarettes at first .The only reason smokers are perceived as being relaxed by smoking is that there is a chemical addiction going on there , withdraws make you for lack of a better term " crave " a cigarette , the relaxation comes in when we feed that need . Someone who doesnt have that addiction is going to get absolutely nothing like that .what happens if there is something to them(e cigs ) that turns out *almost * as bad as the effects of smoking ? what then ? for me it cant be worse then arsenic that was in the cigarettes I smoked so Im ok with that . But what about you ? youre not smoking ? do you want to take a risk like that for fun? I wouldnt .
----' no one wants to see people wind up in the shape some of us if not all of us are in , with damage to our bodies. we would give anything not to have to deal with .the body was never meant to inhale these things its better than "smoke" but its worse than "nothing " . just my opinion.

I guess I am coming from the point of a 27 year smoker that finally gave up cigarettes by vaping, but with that said I would give anything to have not started doing either. My point is what do you expect to get out of it without the nicotine? The very act of vaping is not going to relax you or anything, all it is going to do is let you put flavored steam into your mouth. I just dont get it is all.

The ingredients in e-liquid are propylene glycol, found in most make up, toothpaste, deodorant, and other items we use daily. Secondly is vegetable glycerin that is in icings, sweetened products like gummy bears, gum, candy, and others. Both are approved as food additives by the FDA. Other than that there are only flavorings and nicotine if you order it that way. My cardiologist lets me vape in his office and let me also vape in ICU when I was in the hospital having tests done. Since switching to vaping and dropping cigarettes I no longer have to take blood pressure medicine, anxiety medicine, or sinus medicine that I had to take daily while I smoked. Don't buy into the hype that it is bad for you. If you want to vape, then vape, but without nicotine I guess I just don't see the point.

Yea I guess. I keep telling myself that when I press "Submit" on an order after swearing I wasn't going to do it again lol. I am trying now to think of it in terms of cigarette replacement. I didnt have 12 brands on hand, I always smoked the same brand. I keep trying liquids and trying liquids. I think the count is over 60 now lol. and I like 3 a lot, 2 more a little, and the rest not at all.

Got potentially great news though, a shop called "Vintage Vapors" that has been operating in Chattanooga about a hour and a half away is opening a shop within a half mile of the business I run. They plan to be open in late September maybe early October and mix their own as opposed to selling the import garbage the other shops sell. Quite popular on the local Facebook group. I will not be buying any more until I can walk in and taste what I am buying.

Just don't get why you would not like comparing products and sharing experiences with them. No its not exactly apples to apples comparing mini to full size or even full size to full size. I think the only way to find out what you like is from your own experiences and the experiences of others and their sharing of that information.

Typically at 2.2 anywhere from 3.8 to 4.4 is an alright voltage setting to push the coil. You can go damn near over 5 on a 2.5. A 1.8 I would stick with about 3.5 to 4.0.

And Spyder I'm not trying to demean you or anything I'm just trying to help you figure out the issues. The davides and the kpt2 and the evod and the mt3s are all going to pull the same way that they did when you first opened them regardless of the flavor because that's the airflow. I personally prefer a airy draw so to speak but that just me. You are more then likely noticing a flavor difference since its not your custom mix. I personally think you need to slow down just a tad and just read up on some of the devices. Don't get in a tisy because something doesn't make sense or it doesn't seem like its working the way you want. That is more then half the battle. I have found that when I have an issue... Someone else has had it too and fixed it or explained what I was doing wrong. The search function in this forum is awesome compared to most forums I have been a part of. Just a little friendly advise is all.

I think Empiremods.com has a pretty large selection of drip tips as well. But, Ithink in another thread you were looking for the push in drip tips? The link I gave you there was for Discount vapers. They have a LOT of different colors. I noticed on Empire Mods, the ones that come in like, 11 different colors, they would only say, have 1/2 of them when I looked at it.

What helped me get past analogs is the fact I like the way nicotine gets into my system this way better vaping than smoking. I have said many times if it were found that smoking and vaping posed completely equal health risks, I would still continue to vape over smoking if I did either.

You are fine, its a process lots of people struggle with. You can get back in the wagon, thats the beauty of it!

My Moms used to smoke Kool filter kings, and I would borrow from her. The smell still reminds me of her.....

Good to hear your mother is recovering, I wish you luck getting back on the vaper wagon as well. I fell off a few months ago myself, it only helped me realize how much I hate analogs.

What I'll likely do, if I'm going to be there all day, I think, is take my charger with me. If she has her surgery tonight, she'll be in intensive care by the time I get there, if what is most likely to happen happens. So we'll be in a waiting room most of the time. So, I'll be taking my nook, taking all of my vaping mats, and hoping for the best. If she's not in ICU, well, I can plug it in there instead of in the wall of the ICU waiting room.

All the brick and mortars in my area carry are knockoffs. Have been to three shops now and it was a little ridiculous. They need to join vapor talk lol. One store in particular was selling off brand ego twists-spinner looking thing 900 mah $69.99 and CE4s for $14.99. They mix their own liquids and after seeing this place I opted against trying any there. We need a quality store so badly in the area

I am going to buy where I like best on liquids and where I get the best price on hardware whether its online or local. I am in retail and some markups I have seen and heard of in B&Ms is obscene. I understand supporting local business but not at the prices I have seen.

It seems that today's better quality IMR batteries are capable of handling higher current levels than earlier ones, so stacking is not necessary to obtain higher power for dual coil devices. I've never had a problem doing it, but I no longer stack 18350s in my Zmax...no need to anymore.

Well in my experience yes. A 1.8ohm coil should burn out faster than a 2.2ohm coil given identical circumstances and voltage. At least it seems that way not based on any scientific data or anything.

Assuming you are vaping at standard 3.7v I'm not sure there is a huge difference but at 4.0 or higher there would be I would think.

Still waiting on the Red Hots and Fire and Ice to fill my other two ( one for the wife and I) but dam spearmint never tasted better. I have a sneaky suspicion cinnamon type flavors may jump to the top of my list so I am saving my KPT2 for those as well since it will be mostly my at home unit. Scheduled delivery date is Thursday! Anxious to try the Imedic Atomic Fireball but in no hurry there he has a lot going on right now I am sure.
