Okay, one, maybe two weeks ago, I was reading the local paper online, and they had a second story about the newest vape shop, NiMa Vapes, in the area to open up. Not sure why they got the second article. Anyway, so I'm reading it, and I guess they interviewed the ONE customer that was enjoying the "and lounge" atmosphere that day. He was freaking 18! And the idiot actually TOLD them he STARTED smoking in high school. Was a track "star", went to state in one of his race lengths, and then he started smoking, he basically added 10 seconds to him time because his lungs weren't in the right shape anymore. So now he's switched to vaping, and he's breathing much better (or as he put it, he has much better endurance).

Okay, so yeah, he's old enough to smoke NOW, but he told his story to this journalist, and the journalist HAD to know that he was underage when he was talking about smoking in high school, how his performance differed from one year to the next, and I think it was irresponsible that they printed ANYTHING about him smoking as a high school student. They didn't come out and say he was under 18 at the time, and I guess it's not unheard of to not start smoking until your senior year of high school, but I doubt it. And would smoking for less than one year really affect his lungs to the point where he added 10 seconds to his time, or would it take more time than that?

I just....feel like they shouldn't be publishing stories from people who give the impression that they smoked when they were under 18.

    Am I the only one?

Basically saying the IL Department of Health has to establish "special packaging" and standards, etc., for all e-juice packaging. Also, from the date of the law going into effect, until the such a time as when the Dept of Health can implement and design such packaging, and put such regulations in place (a process that could take up to two years, just for a child-proof bottle and some regulations for using such), e-juice sales would be BANNED in the state of Illinois until then. WTF????

First off, the Dept of Health has NO knowledge of what the legislature would be asking them to step in to do. I have no problems with having the state require the health department come up with "special packaging" and regulations about the use of said packaging, but it's just STUPID to ban the sales of juice in the state for as long as that process takes. It's cutting off tax dollars, for one, and people can still buy online.

As far as the legislation in the first place, well, requiring child proof containers is all well and good, but I've yet to see a bottle that can hold 120 mls that is child-proofed. Also, what about juices the REQUIRE glass bottles because they are tank crackers, and what about the shops that sell the juices from out of state vendors, or online vendors, that use glass bottles? I can't see the vendors approving that the shop repackage their item into the state's "approved child-proof packaging" to sell in their shop. Heck, that would KILL the business of one local shop - they ONLY carry the juices from online vendors, and they are ONLY in glass bottles. What I see is if the local retailers ask for permission to repackage into the state's "approved type packaging", the vendors will pull just pull their product from the retailer.

And that's not even getting into whether the Dept of Health knows enough about e-juice to address the issue, or knows ANYTHING about packaging.

I have to disagree with your statement here. It is limited due to most of them pre mixing liquids and having the majority of people buying certain percentages of Nic. It is common with vendors and our self regulation not to go above 32mg nic because of the Government Fear Mongering. With advances in PVs, 24mg has even become high and 99% of vendors offer 24mg. I offer 32nic to 0mg Nic stepping down by 2 mg increments. As far as I know I'm the only vendor that does this. I personally have yet to have anyone order Juice above 18mg.

Please show proof of this statement or it just becomes your Opinion and does not state fact. It only further instils false impressions of this industry and belittles our efforts of self regulation.

Also, they're good to replace, if you've dry burn em too much. That tends to weaken the rubber and sometimes melt em a little, which causes a nasty prevailing taste over the juices.

Boba's isn't really a dark colored juice. As a matter of fact, I have trouble telling the difference between it and my cinnamon. Some juices are dark just by the nature of the flavoring in them. Also, I think another good indicator is if when you get it, it's fairly light colored, and the darker color only comes into play after it's steeped for a bit.

Actually, the equipment should be just fine - an eGo 900 mah is around where other people start out as well, although I myself am not fond of the CE tanks, or top coils in general, although you MIGHT upgrade to an eGo twist with variable voltage, but the suggestion on dropping the resistance on your coil head is a good one, at 3.7 volts, you won't be pushing much power through a 2.4 ohm coil. The biggest factors in throat hit are nicotine level and PG%. How much did you smoke per day, and why did you start out at such a low nic level in your juice? The higher your nic level, the harder the throat hit, usually, but it depends on what you can tolerate. Higher PG% will also increase your throat hit.

Well, with dripping, the nic hits you harder, if I recall, right? So while you might normally take a 12 or an 18 out of a tank, a 6 would do just fine dripping.

We have this question about 1 to times a month. LOL Do Not Use Any Other Charger, Wall Wart, Cord than what came with your unit Period. This is to keep you safe and to avoid a battery blowing up. Wall Warts can have different Voltage and Amperage outputs and a miss match could spell Disaster! I have worked with electronics for many many years and know what I speak of.

Be Safe Only Use What Came With Your Device! Plugging it into your computer will NOT harm anything! So Long As You Use The Cord That Came With Your Unit!

I don't. I did once but approaching a year cigarette free and vaping this long I know what I like and it is not available locally.

I also find the tester 0 nic thing to be a deterrent. If I cannot taste the actual liquid I will be vaping what good does it do to taste it? I still vape 18 and sometimes 24mg with no plans to drop any farther. A 0 nic liquid will taste completely different with the higher levels of nicotine.

Our samples are on the bar, all are zero nic, when you add nic the flavors can change dramatically. We have a Strawnana that tastes great till the nic is added....

I know I'm not the only game in town and when it comes to hardware, Shop for the best deal... I would. In time I hope to have the buying power they do so I can give better deals. I would also stay away E-Bay for vape gear no matter how cheap. Juice, now that is what sets shops apart. But there again, taste is subjective and people should buy what they like. Not to mention customer service and Yes I can't ignore SV as they do have excellent customer service as does Litecig, they also have good customer service after a sale.

I started using RBAs after vaping about 3 weeks or so. But, before I started I watched a whole bunch of how to videos and built quite a few of my own coils and tested them, tore them down then built them again. before I even put one on a mod. I definitely understand wanting to move to the RBAs, they give a great vape and flavor, but it's not worth hurting yourself. I would highly recommend getting an ohm meter before u start to make and use your own builds. I know I myself, and I'm sure everyone here, doesn't want to see someone injured or worse. You can find a meter for under $20, IMHO, it's a small price to pay for safety.

Cool beans....thanks for the vote of confidence. As far as vaping more or less than I was smoking....I think I probably vape more than normal lol. I got a EVOD BCC (in case you want to look it up) and I easily go through two and half or three full tanks a day. I just enjoy smoking. whether they be analogs or vaping. I enjoy the hell out of it!! Always have. As long as I am not getting nauseas or sick or anything, I should just be groovy......right?

You're just fine. When we give up the analogs it's normal to need a little extra nicotine to stave the cravings. Once you vape for awhile you might want to look at lower the nic a bit. The numbers are loose guidelines, not written in stone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it would be a good mantra for you at this point in time.

If it's throat hit you want, you could go with a higher PG ratio in your juice. That also affects throat hit. But for now I'd stay with what's working for you.

As a Marlboro Light smoker for decades I started with 24 mg of nic to get me through the quitting phase. After awhile I noticed I was getting slightly dizzy, a little nauseous, headaches, etc. (all symptoms of nicotine overdose), so I lowered the nic level in my juice. Problem fixed.

You're doing fine as is. Keep it up!

You may have smoked lights, but you were smoking almost 2 packs a day. Light version style cigarettes do not mean less nicotine. Several factors affect how much nicotine your body took in. How large of a draw, time between inhale/exhale and the amount of cigarettes smoked in a day.

I agree with Tam and Troy. Vape what works for you. It is okay that you are using 24mg to start out. You may find you start vaping less than you were smoking. When you feel you are ready take the next step down. It is okay to mix up your mg levels during the day too. You might need 24 mg earlier in the day but find that something lower works better towards the evening.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
