  1. Wow. Didn't realize I didn't finish this post before I went to bed, and firefox crashed overnight. Yesterday, we bought my new Davide. When we got it, hubby showed me how to put it together, and we filled it with the 618 custom blend we ordered. Well, sometime yesterday evening, I decided I wanted to add a little French Vanilla to see what it tasted like (I add Fr Vanilla tobacco blend to the regular 618), tried to open it and couldn't, so called hubby, but he was busy and couldn't open it at the minute (tank was 1/2 gone by this time, standard sized tank thank goodness). So I decided to see if I could figure it out. Well, I unnscrewed it all right, unscrewed the wrong silver part, and it basically came apart in my hand, spillign 1/2 a tank of 618 EVERYWHERE, well, not everywhere, but all over me at least. Between my spilling 1/2 a tank of it (and then refilling to a full tank AGAIN) we've used 1/2 of our 22ml custom order in about 2 days. Also picked up a bottle of Sweet Tobacco, that probably needs to steep a little while yet, judging by the taste. I'm hoping I like it. Also picked up another Evod. I would LIKE an evod for every sample I have unless I've already decided I don't like that flavor (color coded, of course), and I would like to pick up another large-ish tank, like the Davide. One thing we forgot to pick up, since we only had a 10 ml sampler bottle and I almost went all the way through of that: French Vanilla Tobacco. So we will be making a run back out to Jerseyville early next week, as that is the one I spend the second largest amount of time vaping, plus I add it to other vapes sometimes.
  2. Thanks, all. Picked up the replacement coils and replaced it today. Too bad I'm not real fond of the flavor that's in it, lol. Or the other new flavor I tried today, and the one I bought today still needs steep time to tell, so it's back to 618 and french vanilla for me.
  3. I do definitely prefer the flavor of the e-cigs, that's for sure. Analogs are just bleh to me now, since there's no other flavor to them!
  4. So I had my yearly physical yesterday, and my doc, who evidently doesn't even know what e-cigarettes are, tells me that quitting smoking is great, but I need to get off the e-cigarettes as soon as I can. From her reaction (body language, etc.), I THINK maybe she thinks they are still basically a tobacco product, that you are just somehow still electronically getting the tobacco leaf, rather than just nicotine and the various things - vg/pg. There hasn't been enough research into e-cigs for her to think they are inherently harmful as analogs, but that was the reaction I got. Speaking of quitting analogs, and starting vaping, I know in the long run, blood pressure SHOULD go down with quitting analogs, but could either vaping, or the first week or so of quitting analogs raise your blood pressure? At my physical yesterday, my blood pressure was a minimum of 20 points over what it normally is - over what it was 6 weeks ago, as a matter of fact. Granted, I'm on medication that increase both heart rate and blood pressure, but although those meds have led to a sometimes increase in heart rate (not all the time) my blood pressure has never been affected - even when I'm having my normal doctor visit anxiety. The only other thing I can think of is I was a bit more anxious because medical mj was literally just passed in my state, and I was going to ask her about it (Mods, that's all I'm going to say about mj, just wanted to give a reason for a possible cause). Normally, my blood pressure runs low enough that they couldn't even medicate me for my increased heart rate because those medications lower both heart rate and blood pressure. Finally, I have a family reunion tomorrow. About half the people that will be there, well, half the adults, are smokers. As a new non-smoker, how do I handle this? I'm still wanting that thing in my hand badly. And frankly, my Dad smokes my favorite kind of cigarettes, the ones I smoked before I switched to the REALLY low priced ones at the discount shop. If I slip, give in to temptation, etc., is that like falling off the wagon in drinking? Should I have to start my stop date count all over again? Well, frankly, the thought of being around all those cigarettes is giving me anxiety already, I don't know how mom did it when she first quit, except around that time, all the family gatherings were at her and Dad's home, and people had to be outside to smoke...but as her house is small, the gatherings are all on the deck anyway, so she was outside right along with us. I think, maybe, I should just make up my mind today, so I can stop having anxeity over it. And take a big enough supply of suckers and hard candy to cover my butt just in case).
  5. Yeah, I can't believe I'm actually SAYING this, but it is a pretty harsh tobacco taste, or at least throat hit. Actually, probably not that far away from GPC analogs with throat hit and tobacco flavor - at least this brand. It hits more like a Turkish tobacco, seems to me. Uunless my husband likes it (then he can have the whole bottle, but he's hardly tasted it) if I use it, I'm probably going to add vanilla. Keep it for an emergency stash if we run out of of the things, like on Sunday, or say, at that spot at the end of the month where you are stretching every dollar you have until it screams to make it through to payday, lol.
  6. Okay, when we started off vaping, my first flavor that I brought home was 618, 50/50. I like it, but was still looking for "more", just not much more. Ordered a sampler from, I think, Chi-town. In the mean time, had to go back to the original shop. Sampled the RY4, as that was a flavor I had ordered in the sampler pack, and in that store, it seemed really gross, to me, I remember thinking. Found the second vape shop in the area on this side of the river, ordered some 618 with an extra flavor shot to see if that's the "more" that I'm looking for - that's currently finishing up it's steep, and added a couple of drops of french vanilla tobacco to the 618 as an experiment in the mean time (turns out I like that - will have to chose between the 618 with the extra shot, or with a vanilla tobacco shot). RY4 gets here, and it's 25/75, which should be a stronger flavor, correct? Because of the mixture? It's not nasty like it was in the first shop I visited (so that could be because I had sampled too many flavors that day, or maybe that shop's sample had "gone off"?), but it's definitely missing something to me - it's a bit harsh, and the caramel and vanilla flavors for me don't really come through, so, of course, I'm only sampling the RY4 off and on, and vaping mainly on the doctored up 618 until the other one is ready to try, or my French Vanilla Tobacco (both from shop number 2). I tried the Cherry Flue Tobacco something or other from Chi-town didn't like it, and the honey wood is currently in my EVOD bcc that is gurgling, and I have no more tanks! Anyway, I guess my question would be, first off, how many people are even familiar with 618 blend? I've only found it on a couple of sites....and are you familiar with the flavor differences with 618 and RY4. And for those familiar with RY4, are the vanilla and caramel SUPPOSED to be that hard to detect? It's startingto look like RY4 isn't even going to make it on my list.
  7. Found out about Better Vapes because the first shop I learned about in my area carries their juices. Checked out their online store, and they just so happened opened a brand new storefront to go WITH the online store the OTHER direction in my area (and with 3DVapor getting their juices from Better Vapes, Better Vapes is cheaper AND you can have them custom mixed, which you can't do at 3D). Currently, at the store front, they don't have all 200 something flavors on site, but they can mix them up for you, and I have a regular 618 blend with an extra flavor shot steeping for a couple more days before I try it out. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone was familiar with Better Vapes - the online presence? I'm picky, so I prefer to be able to walk into some place and sample something before sinking money on something - which is what has me leery of online only shops - yeah, you can order sample packs, but you also have to pay for them, lol. So I guess what I am is cheap. Anyway, any of you have heard of them or done business with them, your input is appreciated.
  8. Disabled, so I don't work, but I would smoke, well, just about anywhere if I was awake, and then I transitioned to outside to make it easier to cut down (it didn't). But one thing I was NOT allowed to do was smoke in the bedroom if the other occupant was asleep - that's just common courtesy? I would smoke more when I was alone - a lot more, and more if I wasn't smoking WITH someone, like if we would have our analogs at the same time. Now, I vape anywhere (although I haven't tried it in buildings yet, other than the vape shops, as the only 2 buildings I've been in since then have been doctors' offices), and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I don't have to leave the room to take a hit, rather than going for a full analog after getting out of bed. It's not letting me sleep any better, because hey, if I wake up it's because I'm having trouble sleeping or nature is calling, but at least it's right there and I can take a hit, or a couple, before I try to relax again and get back to sleep.
  9. Okay, I'm not sure what I'm reading, or if I'm reading this correctly, but are they trying to amend the rule so that they can, um, regulate "tobacco products" not already listed, and would that mean e-cigs, etc.? Even though they don't contain any ACTUAL tobacco?
  10. Okay, this has me thinking, since when I switched batteries earlier today, the one I pulled off the charger was warm. Is it okay to keep it on the charger until you use it (stick battery, supposed to be eGo 900, but likely a knock off), or should you pull it off the charger once it's charged?
  11. Truthfully, when they went after flavors a few years ago, I was surprised that they exempted menthol - particularly since younger smokers tend to go for menthol "supposedly" because it's I dunno, sweetness masks the harshness of the tobacco. And Swisher Sweets were still on the market after that, too, weren't they? I guess at that time, they were convinced with the right place lobbying efforts (re: $$) that eliminating menthol would kill the industry...but I thought they were trying to do that anyway? Heck, out of the two people in my family (that is my growing up family, not my house now, so my dad and my sis), my sis smokes menthol, and when all five of us lived at home, it was split almost down the middle on menthol/non-menthol users - 3 non menthol (including me), and my mom and sis smoked menthols. Although when I was in high school, SUPPOSEDLY the stereotype was girls smoked menthols (not the ones I hung around with though, lol). So I guess maybe if it is around a 50/50 split, how many of the long time menthol users wouldn't be able to adjust to smoking non-menthol, or having to smoke with a peppermint in their mouth to get the feeling?
  12. Okay - this is a bit worrisome, because it was only part of the way through my first tank. Well, okay, it was my second partial tank, I guess. Gurgling didn't happen immediately, but started the other day. Now I'm ALMOST afraid to clean out my other non dedicated EVOD to try this other new flavor, since I've decided against the RY4 that's currently in there - well, I haven't tried adding another flavor to it in order to help it out. But now, since I won't be able to lay in a supply of coils until later tomorrow or Monday, I'm almost paranoid about emptying out the green RY4 evod right now.
  13. She's got that right. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks into my vaping and at a few times I've gotten analogs for whatever reason. While I enjoyed the whole hand to mouth habit from teh analogs, I would taste them and be like, bleh. There was just no flavor there, compared to what I had been vaping (and that was tobacco flavored vape). So...satisfaction from having the cigarette in my hand and mouth thing, holding it in my hand, not so satisfied that I think I would pick up another pack of analogs. Now, say, at my family reunion Saturday, if someone offered me one......yeah, I would have a hard time turning it down (*sigh* and yeah, I fully expect to be in that situation - at least I know of 1/2 a dozen smokers that will be there, and I did love my dad's cigarettes - so I'll let you know how I've done in THAT situation when I get back Saturday, or on Sunday).
  14. @Love2VapeDaily yes, a few times. @IMEDICx90 A couple of questions, although I was starting to think the same thing after more searching. I was probably mistaken, but I thought flooding was overfilling it? If it's not overfilled (only 1/2 way filled), then obviously flooding isn't what I thought it was. So what is flooding? Ironically, I put the tank on this morning and started to use it, and it seemed fine, until I laid it down on the table to clean up the dog's "getting into the trash" mess, and when I next went to it, it was gurgling again. I usually try to keep the tanks upright, or at least leaning against something so that they aren't lying flat, but sometimes I can't avoid it. If lying flat is an issue, I'll have to make sure I have something to lean it against/prop it up with every time I put it down. Thanks in advance.
  15. Wow. I had gotten a banner someplace else before I joined this forum (maybe from a member of another forum?), and looking at my banner, it made me realize with as cheap as my analogs were, it's gonna take a while to make up what my initial investment was. Good thing I was reimbursed for the start up kit by a family member who REALLY wanted me off analogs, enough to subsidize the starting kit.
  16. *shudders* Thanks for your replies. I used to like black licorice when I was a kid/teenager, (and the black jelly beans), but getting a taste of it from each tank, practically, 20 years later - when my tastes have, um, changed - was not pleasant, especially when I wasn't expecting it.
  17. Both places that we have within 10 - 20 minute driving range around 6.50 - 8 range. Depends on which shop you go to. The one makes all their own, so they are cheaper. The other orders everything online.
  18. Don't laugh, but I keep mine in the cabinet of my computer desk (head height when I'm sitting). Don't have to worry about the dog because it's a closed door cabinet. He's pretty good at getting to food, but hasn't figured out how to open cabinets or the fridge yet.
  19. Refilled one of my Evod BCC's last night to a about 1/2 full or so. Hubby did the filling, so I'm sure he didn't hit the pipe in the centerDidn't vape off of it last night, though. I go to vape off of it today, and every time I draw off of it, it gurgles. I tried blowing it, but it would go right back to some gurgles when I dried to draw off it again. It's not leaking, so I haven't bothered with the coil. Any clue what this could be, what could be causing it, or what could fix it? Should I just empty, rinse it out, etc., and try again?
  20. I'd been up since something like 7:30, no problem, I was doing okay. Then, around 10 ish this morning, I had sucked on a peice of hard candy (butterscotch), because I still need to do something for the psychological craving. It COULD be a coincidence, but the next time I went to take a hit on my pv, it was harsh. So I went to change flavors. Out of four of them, they all seemed a bit harsh and three of them were liquorishy flavored to me it seemed at the time. Luckily, my fr. vanilla tobacco worked well enough for me, though it still seemed harsh for a while, until my mouth got back to normal. Anyone else have an experience like that, or know what could have caused it?
  21. I was going to say, are you sure the clear that came with it was the kind you can wash out and replace juices in? When we bought ours, they said even if you try to rinse it out real well, any other flavors would taste nasty, which is why we ended up getting the Evod tanks, and why I'm looking at KPT2 or Davide Glassomizer.
  22. The eGo battery sticks have the branding on the bottom, going slightly up the stem. That's how I discovered mine was knock off. Luckily, though, mine will turn off - but plugging it into the charger turns it back on again. If you weren't able to to turn it off, you wouldn't want to keep it in purse, either, because any time the button got bumped it would be shooting vapor all over your purse.
  23. Okay, I started vaping about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Still had analogs left, so I smoked them, but what would have lasted me 2 1/2, MAYBE 3 days, lasted me a full week (7 days). Since then, I've back slid a couple of times - once when I initially ran out of the the analogs, it had been maybe six hours, and the panic attack was so bad I made hubby drive me to get some since I can't drive. Then last week, during a period high stress, I gave in a bought about a day and half worth of analogs. I won't be doing that again, though, simply because while I enjoyed having the cigarette to hold in my hand, and the hand to mouth thing, both times I got analogs, since even the tobacco juices are flavored, the analogs just tasted "meh", or even "blah". And really, I don't think I can go back to that taste. Plus, I can already smell better. With the weather being as nice as it has been, all of the windows have been open for about two weeks, I guess, and the house is nice and aired out. We have a couple blankets in the living room, throw blankets, whatever, and I was sitting with one of them supporting my arm, and I realized just how much the stench of smoke was reeking off it. So all three of them are getting washed, and we I have to febreeze the furniture that can be febreezed as well. Currently, the equipement I have is a dual ego 900 mah starter kit (which I'm pretty sure is a knock off) with the two clears that came with it, and three Evod tanks. I'll soon be getting (hopefully) either a ProAir 2 or a Davide Gassomizer, because if I vape on one flavor all day, even with the Evod tanks, I have to refill multiple times. The batteries last me anywhere between 18 - 22 hours, depending on how much I sleep, and how much I'm vaping. Still trying to find that one all day vape, though - which is why I have 2 clearomizers and three Evods with juice in them, lol, and I still haven't tried all the flavors I want to try before I make up my mind. Okay, so we all go through a time for years when we know we NEED to quit smoking, but we don't want to. Or we can't. Or whatever. I come from a family of smokers. Also come from a family history of cardiovascular disease (even the one grandparent that I know quit smoking in around '56). So it's not just smoking that causes it in my family. So far, despite 20+ years of smoking (I started when I was 15 or 16, I can't remember which), I haven't had TOO many issues, although some things were starting to hit, like it seems almost constant sinus buildup lately, etc. I guess a few years ago, maybe four, was when I knew I had to quit smoking. I have MS, and a study had just been done showing not only does smoking contribute to the START of MS, but it also can speed up the progression of MS. So finally, at the beginning of this year, I decided I was definitely going to stop some time this year. Plus, even getting "Class C" bargain basement cigarettes at a bargain basement discount shop, it's expensive. Couldn't take Chantix because I'm bipolar and I'm on three other anti-depressants anyway and have significant depression. Was thinking about the lozenges, but frankly, I was terrified to quit. Then lo and behold, I go to my local newspaper's website one day, and there was an article on a newish (opened about a month) vape shop. Turns out it wasn't as expensive as I previously thought years ago (since I didn't ask anyone about it, or didn't look up information on things like Blue e-cigs, well, I thought it was way more expensive than even smoking the Class A cigarettes - like the Marlboro's). So I'm reading this article, and I clear it with my doc, and my MS doc who says the e-cigarettes shouldn't have the effect on my MS as regular analogs do, and I jumped in with both feet. Not a lick of research beforehand, lol. But I'm glad I got in when I did. Now I just have to figure out an all day vape, which is the whole reason to be getting a bigger tank!
  24. Granted, I'm a total newb. Started vaping about 3 1/2 weeks ago, was still on and off analogs until a few days ago. Truthfully, out of a variety of factors, I couldn't really tell you WHY my nose drips when it does. HOWEVER, I do know that I am now ABLE to exhale through my nose - if I tried to do that with analogs more than a few times, I would just end up with nasty soot in my nose. It's nice not to have that problem now. But my nose is clearing up of it's chronic stuffiness of the past I don't know how long, which is a relief (and I'm sure it is for my doctor too - I see her Thursday).
