I think you mean me!! HyOnLyph!! My wife and I still have the home for women. We currently have 6 women living in our home and so far over 15 of our girls have embraced PVs as an alternative. We don't pressure them at all but offer them if they want. We help them get started and it is up to them to save their money and purchase their own continuing supplies. Many of the folks from this forum have generously helped us and we are so grateful. While I realize that there are a lot of spammers and scams out there.... I can assure you, we are not one of them. I sell nothing to the ladies. Everything is either donated or purchased by me to help them and they are offered the PVs and Juice for free. They purchase their own stuff after that. I've referred a number of folks to the VaporTalk Store. Midnight is still my number one all time favorite flavor. I just don't vape much and only zero nic but I sure do love the Midnight.

Greetings to all and especially Christopher.

Me too. In the bathroom, sometimes Nic and I close our office door and pass the eGo back and forth like back in High School. I'm always kind of afraid when I tell pt.s about this but I do anyway. Our Rheum. Doc has had me bring my stuff into rooms to show her pt.s. She loves this whole idea.

Welcome. Glad you are with us.

The choice of strength of Nicotine (mg/ml) isn't always about how much you smoke. It's a great place to start but it may change. My brother-in-law is a chainsmoker of unfiltered something-or-others that are supposed to be really strong. He tried some 36 mg (Ultra High) that I have and he almost passed out from the head-rush. That's why some of the more experienced people in this forum recommend that you get a variety of strengths. Purchasing a variety of strengths is the easiest way to determine what works for you. ( I have heard that some use higher strength in the AM and lower in the afternoon or for a casual vape.) Personally, I use zero nicotine now.

Another alternative is to get the high nicotine and if it's too strong, cut it with Vegetable Glycerin (VG). You can buy Vegetable Glycerin at a drug store or vitamin store (even WalMart) in the lotions/cosmetics department. If you cut it, the strength is directly proportional to the % you cut it. So if you have 10 mls (quantity) of 24 mg (nicotine strength) and you add 10 mls of VG to it, you'll have 20 mls of a 12 mg mixture. Warning.. it will dilute the flavor. But at least you don't throw away eliquid.

At first, I would recommned just purchasing a few different strengths.

Either way, You will find a balance of strength and frequency of vaping that may not exactly coincide with your smoking habits.

If you decide to try cutting your liquid, you may want to pick up an empty bottle with an eye dropper at the drug store when you buy the VG. I've had the pharmacist give them to me for free.

I'll put in my plug for this forum's VaporTalkStore.com. They have amazing flavors. Their Mentha is great and can be added to other flavors to give it a little coolness. I've used their Mentha, Dulcis, Midnight and Grape. All very good. I'm partial to the Mentha and Midnight.

When you say "mid level"... what is the mg of the nicotine. For some suppliers mid is 24 w/ high being 30+ That's insane but everyone measures it a little differently.

Also, some people tend to vape more than they smoked. It's a mental thing ... maybe afraid of not getting enough or thinking you can vape all you want since it's "healthy".

Try to cut back on your nic level and purchase some zero nic juice for those times you just want a casual vape but not having the craving for the nicotine. VT's Mentha and Dulcis both come in zero nic. And their flavor is the same with or without the nicotine.

Keeps us up-to-date on how you are doing. I have a feeling this is a question many people have had.

    Hey HookahMan,
I'm pretty surprised that someone hasn't jumped in to answer your question. The problem seems to be that the stores carry the brands that are cheaply made but very expensive. And certain products online (as recommended in this forum) are better quality and cheaper but you don't get the benefit of "hands on".

IF you can find someone in your area in this forum, I'd see if you can get together.. I think that's your number one best bet.

The only thing I'll say about "hands on" is that IF you must have a store to go to AND the cigarette look and feel is important to you.... the only "over the counter" eCig that I would recommend is SmokeStik. (Avoid Blu, SmokingEverywhere, SmokingAnywhere, Mall Kiosk brands, etc etc.) SmokeStik are expensive, ($99 for a starter kit w/ bonuses) but at least they are not cheaply made. I've used them and I know their quality and their customer service is great. They have a few locations in KY. https://usa.smokestik.com/show_locations.php?state=ky

If the cigarette look and feel in your hand is a little less important, I'd take the advise of most people on this forum and just go with a 510 or eGo. You will invest less money and you will be happier in the long run. More likely than not... if you like vaping, you'll experiment with a variety of options. But at least your initial experience will be a happy one... and you will have spent less on the startup.

On piece of advice... Take the money that you would spend on cigarettes and put it in a jar. If you are a pack-a-day smoker then put away $6-7 every day. Every time you would purchase smokes... instead put the same amount of money in a "kitty" somewhere so that you have cash to spend on ecigs. eCigs are consumables just like cigarettes. They don't last forever. Besides juice... Stuff wears out and burns up. Not nearly as expensive as cigarettes but you are going to need to spend money to keep it going. If you save the money, you'll have a lot of cash to play with other brands and mods. If you don't, you'll wonder why you have to keep spending $X every month or so to keep this going. So save the money for awhile until you get an idea of what you will want to spend on ecigs.

Blessings ... and have a great time doing this.

I have used SmokeStik cartos. And still do sometimes. Since you said you are kind of new at refilling the SS carto....
Not that it matters... but what battery are you using (just curious)

And I've used VT Grape in them and you should be getting clouds of vapor and flavor.

First, did you refill it by pulling all of the little grommets and filter out? Just like Chris's video shows in the previous post. If not, you'll have a puddle of juice at the top and it'll take a long time for it to drain into the carto. You don't have to replace them if you don't want to. (so says the SS rep) but I do because I don't want any chance of juicy in the mouth.

Second, when refilling, tilt the carto and let the juice run down the sides. And when you are finished, drip about 2 drips right down the center tube.

Third. you should be able to get 20-30 drops in a pretty dry carto. But 17 drops should be OK but it may take it a minute to wick down to the elect. filiment (the atty).

SS are made different than most. They have a horizontal attomizer at the bottom of the wicking material. It's very efficient and long lasting but takes a little time for new juice to reach it. Try holding it in your fingers, threads out, and shake it like an old style mercury thermometer. Flick your wrists. It's best not to let it run dry. refill once in a while before running dry.

I hope you didn't pull out the wicking material. Some can get away with it but it's generally Not a good idea. You can wash it while it's still in the carto.

They don't last forever and sometimes they just die. Although, I have to say... I've never had one die yet... but I'm a light vaper.

Feel free to ask questions. I'll do what I can to help. PM me if you like.

Hello all, I've looked through some of the posts and find some discussion about USA made vs. China made e-cigs. I see how to tell which is which and that many people think that USA made are better. In general though, I don't see why. I understand that the juice is different and China juice may have additional contaminants. So OK, I'll avoid Chinese juice and carts. But what about the equipment.

Some of you may be aware that my wife and I have a home for women. We have picked up a few 510 kits in an effort to give our smokers an alternative. (by the way... I mentioned ecigs to a friend of mine who bought one immediately. In a few days, He's already stopped coughing and has completely lost that stale smoke odor. He is really excited and His wife has asthma and she is so grateful)

Back on topic.... Is there any real difference in the 510 Chinese vs USA. Prices vary so much ($49 to $120 for the same kit) that it's hard to make a determination as to one product being better than another.
For me, getting the best deal for the money makes a difference.
    Thanks
