The local B&M sent me a "customer appreciation" email last night... 10% off gear, free juice... the usual stuff, but I noticed they were also hosting a cloud comp at their juice-bar this weekend... totally open, no restrictions, no rules...  The evil person in me wants to go watch to see how many people damage themselves (or equipment), because you know some moron is going to show up with a car-battery and a 0.01 Ohm quad-coil ... the sane person in me says "stay away!"   I usually listen to the sane one, because the fewer people that attend these things, maybe they'll stop having them?

That guy's going to blow his face up being so reckless. And we wonder why vaping is getting such a bad name.

Not many of our members here are cloud competition folks... 99.9% are vaping for smoking cessation or hobby, rather than competition.
If memory serves, from reading the local brochure from a recent competition (which I did NOT attend... never will actually), there were divisions, and listings of specific, allowable gear, as well as an "open-mechanical" category.
If you want to compete, check with the local competition organizers for a recommendation of gear, and you can't go wrong, or you may show up with a sub-par (or disqualifying) rig.  Some competitions only allow pure VG, some don't, so be aware of your juice limitations too.  Pure VG gives the max vapor production, BTW.
Personally, I think the cloud competitions are vaping's biggest enemy, and further damage vaping in the eyes of the pubic.  Huge clouds look cool to some, but to most, they look dangerous, menacing, and disgusting... and the media and government LOVE to use photos of cloud-chasers to support their regulation crusade, so they can say "look at this horrible, death-cloud!  We must regulate this and stop it... for the CHILDREN!".
To each his own... but what you do in public casts light upon more than just you!

IStick 50w (battery life and has yet to fail me, second would be Spinner 2)
Davide 3ml with 1.8ohm single KPT coil (No longer available in the configuration I like so I am nursing the 6 my wife and I share)
Standard drip tip is my preference (I used to be averse to metal tips but now prefer them)
Fuzion Vapor "Endless Summer" in 18mg (All I have vaped since for over 2 years)
I still have tons of backups for backups but my Istick is the favorite battery I have ever had. I am a fairly basic guy!

My wife and I have 4 and no issues at all but I did kill one when I jumped in the lake with it in a lanyard and when I fired it the power stuck at 50w and would not turn off. That one sleeps with the fishes.
I clean my connection at every tank refill and make sure it stays as dry as possible. Like any electronic devise moisture is the enemy.
Now back no Knocked Up and sleep lol

Looks like a dual-coil... so the tank would be a protank3.
9W is not a huge amount for the coil, and most juices will be happy with that.
If you're sucking juice like through a straw, the coil is shot/dead/kaput.  Toss it and try another one.  But, before you do that... dump your juice, take the tank apart and clean it, inspecting the o-rings while you have it apart.  Reassemble "snug", not over-tightened, pop in a fresh coil, refill, allow juice to soak into the coil for 5-min or more, then vape again, perhaps at 8W to start out... see how that works out for you...

I actually agree with you. I would kill for a nice upgrade to a simple tank/coil combo like the kpt or divide.  I use them all the time and was surprised when SV stopped carrying them (i've used SV for over 2 years myself with only an occasional venture to another vendor).  I can't believe the kpt mini is being phased out.
Where to go? Back to evod? No way. I hate plastic now, lol.  Love the performance of the nautilus but don't like the high coil cost.
There HAS to be a market for the simple tank/coil combo. Part of it may be I haven't researched it enough.
Temp Control is here to stay. It will become simpler and more standard bit that's a ways off.

If the VaporTalk store doesn't have it, I order it from Sweet-Vapes 100% of the time. I am referring to hardware, not liquids however. Not a huge fan of the flavors I have tried. I will say I have never gotten anything from them that is not authentic and Dayna has always answered my questions and concerns in a very professional way.

Im just sick of everything I like getting replaced by more complicated more expensive ****.
Maybe I am just at the point I need to try to just quit all together, start stepping down nicotine etc... It wont be long and the savings that keep me going with the whole Vaping thing will start evaporating. I have never spent more than $15 on a tank. The largest single vaping item I have bought are these ISticks that were $50. Before that I only used Vision Spinners and was completely happy with those but the battery life of the 50w sold me. I feel like if I ever did go to a B&M I would have to shop in the clearance section, Money is not the issue at all, but I want what I want lol.
I think I am gonna e-mail Eric at DV and ask of I buy 12 of the last 42 in existence and they are not the same as the ones I have now if I can return them lol.

Bebop I agree sub ohm and cloud chasing are completely different and do not mean to lump them together. Its not the act of sub ohming or even cloud chasing that is dangerous to our perception it is the place and time people choose to do it.
Take that complete idiot Cesar. He felt he had the "right" to vape wherever he wanted with no regard to what others thought. It is inevitable he will end up with a cloud chasing rig at some point and have no regard for others around him. That is what I am talking about not the guy on his back deck blowing clouds lol. There are lots of things I can condone doing in my home, car, boat etc... that I would not deem acceptable in a social environment.

Notice how the bone is recessed in my first pic? Thats a great indication too of it being done. You can grab the bone and pull it out with 0 effort.

And yea there is a million different ways to cook and no right or wrong BUT there are tried and true methods that have made my outdoor cooking much more enjoyable both for me and those eating it. Its like Ribs. In competition you should have a firm texture to your rib BUT I like my ribs literally falling off the bone which is a major points deduction in competition.

Don't sweat it.  Unless you turn it into charcoal, you can't screw up a butt, too bad.  It has a lot of fat, and is a big chuck of meat.  The fat keeps it pretty moist, and being so big, it takes a while to get it to break (become tender).  Just keep an eye on it.  You can feel how tender it is just by poking a probe, icepick, long fork, etc into it.  It should slide easily, with little resistance.  Pork is done at around 150-160 degrees, but it takes longer to break down the collagen in the meat to make it tender.  I think it has been mentioned, when you pull it off of the smoker, let it rest. I wrap mine, but that will make your bark soggy, but resting it lets the juices go back to where they need to be in the meat.
All of this food porn is making me want to cook something.  I am out of propane and don't want to make the trip to the grocery store (best meat is a 2 hour round trip)
