Well Earthling I liked your info so much I went out and got me a K-Box and 2 new batteries to go with it for less then $50.00 delivered at Sweet Vapes. They had them on sale also for $28.00. I figured I got my tanks and coils there so I got the rest there. Thank you for the information. I always said I would never buy one of the boxes because I thought they were ugly but that silver K-Box looks real nice and the new tanks will look good on it. Thanks again for everyones advice and information.

The Kanger sub-tank comes with a 0.5 Ohm and 1.2 Ohm OCC head-unit. The Provari will not fire anything below 1.2 Ohms, you would only be able to use the 1.2 Ohm coil-heads. Also, if the coil head is not 1.2 Ohms or higher it won't work on the Provari... so there is a slim chance the coil will be 1.18 or something like that, and will not work.... not what you wanted to hear, but I thought I should toss it out there

I've not tried the Kanger subtank either, but I want one... If you want to go that route, have you thought of a small box-mod like the IPV-mini? Right now you can get them for $40-50, and they use a single 18650 battery... very accurate, will work with the 0.5 Ohm OCC head, and will fire up to 30W, which is better performance than your Provari, in a hand-friendly size/shape. Kanger also has a K-box, which was designed to work specifically with the subtanks... 40W model is on sale at 101Vape.com right now for $27! A subtank and new mod would run you $60-70, depending on if you bought the full-size or mini subtank?

The original Aspire BVC coils for both Nautilus tanks had a ceramic wicking material. Cotton seems to be the preferred method for a lot of new tanks coming out. The Aspire Atlantis Sub-ohm tanks have it in the coils now. Aspire was getting flack from users about the safety of the ceramic material. Kanger Sub tanks came with cotton in the coils from day one.
Those who drip and use RTA's, myself included, use cotton as a wicking material. It seems to wick the juice better than silica.
I still use my Nautilus and Nautilus mini, as well as my Kayfun V4 clones. Sub-ohm tanks are new to the market and seem to be the rage. For the money I personally am looking at the Kanger Sub tank because you can replace the coils, or it has a rebuildable coil section you can use.

Cotton is a good thing. Comp has a good post about different wicking materials and the performance of each.
Not sue about better than the Nautilus tanks, except for maybe a rebuildable type.

The Authentic Kayfun V4 has the ability to swap out the 510 connecter to one that directly fits the Provar, if you are into building your own coils..

Patricia, I have some juices that were given to me, which supposedly "expired" a few months ago... They are DELICIOUS! The one-year rule seems to mostly be for the Nicotine and some flavorings, because VG and PG have upwards of 5-yr shelf-life.

The 18650 batteries have a long shelf life so long as they are keep at room temperature. You would have no problem ordering them and have them for when you need them. I use the KPT 2s and I have 1 Nautilus. The KPT2s hold 2.5-3 ml of juice. I fill mine to the absolute limit just before it can drip down the tube. I use my rebuilt coils in my KPT tanks with the Areo base. I get great flavor and good vapor from them. The Nautilus I have gives me about the same the KPTs with my rebuilt coil heads IMO. Not sure on the Provari life span but I do know there are people on the board that have had theirs for a long time. They are a very well made unit.

I love paying it forward to those in this forum. Without all the great people here helping me at first I have no doubt I would have failed in my attempt to kick the analogs. The other "big" forum is filled with trolls and people there seem to want to get a laugh instead of helping noobs out. I feel a debt of my life to those that helped.....you know who you are!

Patricia reacted to Earthling789 in How many tanks of juice before I change my coil?
I rotate 10 (six KPT2 and four Aerotanks) at the moment, just like you are doing. Generally, my coils last anywhere from 6-10 refills. Given that I vape about 15 ml of juice a week (in just my tanks)... each tank sees at least one refill per two-weeks ... so... I generally get 2 months or so of use from a coil. I don't have a set-clean-and-change rotation... when one starts to fail, I change it... if a tank acts-up, I put it aside and do a thorough cleaning when I get a chance.

With plenty of fresh tanks waiting to be vaped, I don't obsess about it if one acts up or has issues with a coil...

When I first started out, I (like you) kept track of how long coils lasted, but each flavor and PG/VG ratio affects coils differently, with the average coil lasting at least 6 refills... although some have held-out 2-3x that before flavor degrades, tight draw, or leakage occurs.

One thing that will help your coils is to not keep old juice in the tank when you refill them... When you vape a tank, take it down as far as you can, then when you refill, just dump out the remaining few drops before refilling. a swab of the inside of the tank with a vodka soaked q-tip won't hurt either, but I rarely do that anymore

Really dark (or sweet or high VG) juices will gunk up a coil faster than light colored, thinner juices, so everyone's coil life-span is variable.

I've not had one break, but if you're not interested in airflow adjustment, you could also replace the bottom with the KPT2/KPT3 bases, which are solid?

I go the other route and replace all my KPT2's bases with Air-flow-control bases

Yes Patricia. I believe the Nautilus to be superior to the KPT 2 however, I still use my KPT because I rebuild all of my KPT coils now and they are better than stock and deliver a really great vape.

(I put my favorite juices in the Nautilus)

I have a satin stainless steel one. I bought a wrap for it so the finish wouldn't get damaged (hopefully). I am seriously considering getting another one when my 1 year Vape-aversary rolls around. Yeah, I'm hooked! The 'poor little MVP' is relegated to backup status.

Its a disposable. It will work normally for a week or two and then it will start tasting burnt and lack flavor. Your only option is to biy another one (just the clearomizer - the whole part that attaches to your battery). You may have some luck washing it out and letting it dry fully but it won't prolong its life very much.

I would start saving for a few tanks with a replaceable atomizer. That's your next step.

Just know that the device is not accurate and what you top it with could effect that. They are meant for protecting the device from damage more than giving accurate readings. Unless your building coils, you really don't need an ohm meter unless you want one.

These odd readings are normal between devices and like christov11 said, can be off by .5 to even .7 in these devices. Your reading is only off by .6 so I wouldn't worry about it.
