Uma got a reaction from LuckiStarre in Why We Choose To Vape....
I dont want to see the next generation smoking ... thats why i vape. I'd much rather see a minor see what the fuss is all about, get bored, and walk away without addiction, than to see that minor experiment with a cigarette and be imprisoned for life. The nicotine in an ecig is delivered at lower and slower paces than it is in a traditional. After a minor tastes these, then try a traditional, theyll never pick up another traditional again., they taste horrible in comparison.
Save the children, via vaping. Put the smoke tax money back in the family budget, keep a roof over their head, keep your job.
We DO care for the children, unlike the antz who want to deny shelter, employment, health care, insurance if anyone even looks at something that is not run by big pharma and the fda.

Uma got a reaction from spydre in Is Nicotine the killer?
Stress is the number one cause of constricted blood vessels, heart failure. Tar & other toxins build up & cause constrictions, yes.
Studies show that eCigs (nicotine without the tar & crapiolie) do not constrict, & the veins remain flexible.
Studies show that nicotine actually promotes healthy cells. Smoke kills cells, nicotine multiplies thriving cells.
Studies show that nicotine restores brain damage, cognitive skills, focus, and relieves Alzheimer's, ADHD, Parkinson's, and more.
Until lately, they were always baffled by the smokers paradox. Smokers survived when non smokers died.
Today, they want to delete the nicotine from real cigarettes & are doing their darnedest to ban eCigs and I'm sure the NRT's will be next. They now KNOW it's the smoke & tar that kills, & nicotine is the beneficial life saving aspect.
Most smokers who died from smoking related diseases were in their 70's & 80's. They lived 20 years LONGER than their age groups life expectancy. There is STILL no link between passive smoking and lung cancer. It's environmental & some even swear it's from the cancer laden vaccinations. Smoking is the scapegoat. Smoking is down, cancer is up.

Uma got a reaction from NahkriinKrosis in Another Study.
Nano grams, parts per million, 0.038 isn't even worth jotting down let alone fear mongering about like the ANTZ like to do.
A person would have to be in an unventilated room, every hour for years, (7000?) in order to receive enough nic into their system via vapor, to equal having smoked one cigarette without tar, toxins & carcenogens.
The threshold danger is what, over 100mg? I'd have to look that up.
My toothpaste is far more dangerous than anybody's SHV.
TOOTHPASTE, Sensodyne:
If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed (more than what, one squeeze? What about those of us who like to rinse, squeeze, repeat?), get medical help or call Poison Control Center.
OTHER DIRECTIONS:
Store below 86 Fahrenheit. Maximum FDA sensitivity active ingredient.
(Don't use in hot arid climates or during heat waves?).
For best results, use 3xs a day yeh right, best results for big Pharma.

Uma reacted to Tam in Want to gather some information
If you're not familiar with e-smoking e-cigarettes or vaping, I wouldn't recommend you try to build your own mod just yet. You don't have any point of reference in what you want, what you need, the safety precautions you should take... You won't even know if it's really working right. How much electronic knowledge do you have? That's pretty important as well.
Read the threads on this forum, ask questions, get into vaping with some basic gear first to learn about vaping (we don't like to call it anything-smoking because of the negative connotations associated with that). Good luck!

Uma reacted to spydre in San Diego via GLOBAL Health
I still envy Norway's percentages. Yeah, their analog usage is lower, but their smokeless tobacco usage is way up there - and what I looked at didn't go into the different types of smokeless tobacco used, but I'd guess there's a good percentage of that which is snus. Since they aren't part of the EU, they didn't have to get an exception to allow it to continue to be manufactured, but from what I understand, it is consumed almost as highly in Norway as it is in Sweden. My poor Norwegian friend. His boyfriend is INCREDIBLY naive, actually believes that the only ingredients that are in cigarettes is tobacco and flavoring, because "they would have to list it," and the government is rabid about selling non-safe things to the public. He thought only 100 people died of lung cancer a year......that no one gets sick from smoking.
The thing is, I didn't get a number on the total number of live US cases of COPD, but 1/4 million people in Norway are living with COPD - which is just shy of 5% of the population, lol.

Uma reacted to mcquinn in So turns out passive smoking doesn't cause lung cancer
I suspect smoking doesn't either. All the real studies conclude that it increases the likelihood that someone who is predisposed to cancer will get it .Never saw a scientist conclude that smoking is a guaranteed cause of cancer in and of itself as we all know old smokers who have escaped cancer.

Thanks Patricia, I like them too. One of these days I'll round them all up for a group shot. Oh, about 3 years now I think. (I have chronic CRS for things like numbers, and other stuff I can't remember right now).
Here's a new photo shot of my dailys. Thanks to BluCavvy for my Mini Provari V2 and to CloudWizard for my Chimbus. Cloud set the Chimbus up with 0.6 flat ribbon coil and man oh man does it snap crackle and pop out the flavor and vapor.
I should apologize for the fingerprints ... but... nah...

Uma reacted to spydre in San Diego via GLOBAL Health
Sorry, I typed to fast and didn't proofread before I hit post. About 19% of adults smoke, yet only .3% of people that die in the US die due to tobacco related issues.

Uma reacted to VaporDragon77 in San Diego via GLOBAL Health
The problem in the US at least is private interest groups influencing public policy. Of course BT want these outlawed or at minimum regulated to the hilt in order to encourage people to become frustrated with vaping and just return to smoking. Vaping hurts their pocketbooks. Lorillard makers of Newport bought out BLU so theres the first casualty. At least the fifty or so empty cartos i have are 510 compatible.
-
Uma reacted to spydre in San Diego via GLOBAL Health
I'd check his math on that first off. He says cigarettes kill one out of every two users, however, in the US, around 19% of adults die from smoking related causes, but only .3% of people die in the US (including second hand smoke). Also, Norway is not involved in the EU - their deaths from all smoking related causes are only .1%. Their cigarette use is half of the US, but smokeless tobacco is quite high - as high as 25% in the young adult age range.

Uma reacted to spydre in POLL time. :)
Stupid question to ask vapers.
Then again, at least one area, I'm not sure where anymore, said they voted on the ban because people vaping confused other people, who thought they were smoking.

They need a third choice "Hell F-en No" Voted. Only 139 people voted Yes so far, 1837 voted No LOL Just goes to show how little say we have in what goes on. So much for Gov being By the people For the people.
