That charger will be fine. Those are suppose to have a safer makeup, so over charging and over discharge should not be a problem. Not sure if they "shut down" like protected batteries do, but you'll know when it drops off.

This is a way over priced kit. You can get a 510 or KR808 kit for $50 or less (and this will be two full ecigs). Stay away from any vendor that claims a catridge is equal to two packs of cigarettes.

What you're looking at is probably a KR808 model just rebranded and being sold at a crazy pirce.

Thought it would be interesting to see how many smokers (ex-smokers) were raised around cigarettes. Also, if you were raised around smokers, do you think that contributed to you becoming a smoker?

I'm sure others are probably answering this already, but I'll throw in my $0.02.

    1. No difference in the 650mah vs the 900mah other than how long the battery lasts between charges.

    2. Drip tip is not necessary, but highly recommended. You don't need it to start, you can remove your empty cart and drip if you want to experience dripping (which you will). A drip tip will make things easier. You can easily make one of the carts into a drip tip (I'll post a link later).

    3. For attomizers, I would plan on them lasting 2-4 weeks. However, some may last months and others may last a few days. Plan on having some spares. Carts are plastic and can be used... pretty much forever, just clean them once in a while. Not really sure how long eGo batteries are lasting, but I would expect it to go about 6 months +/-.

    4. Making your own eliquid can be expensive starting off until you find a mix you like. I would start with some store baught and move into DIY down the road. But yes, it can be a lot cheaper in the long run. There is a DIY section on the forum where you can get help with that (we try to keep DIY discussion in the DIY area only).

    5. I would check out:

VaporTalk Store (10% discount code listed on VT Store home page and free shipping)

Electronicstix (10% discount code listed in thier subform here at vapor talk).

    PureSmoker (not discount codes)

    Cignot (not discount code)

There a many others to choose from, these are some of the ones I've used and know they have good reps.

hoping it's a "healthier" replacement with the ultimate goal of quitting analogs.(lol...sorry, that term just cracks me up and I don't know why), but also have to some extent a compulsive/obsessive personality, so the possibilty of me taking out a 2nd mortgage or resorting to crime to pay for my new "hobby" probably isn't to far fetched.

Brian got a reaction from AimeeG in Leaking Atty
I blow my atty out at least once a day (normally) from the open end (the mouth piece end). Then roll up a little piece of paper towel (about 1" x 1") and insert it into the atty and let it set several minutes. Repeat the paper towel thing 2-3 times. After doing that, it usually takes 5-6 drops to prime the atty.

I have had some atty that just seem more prone to leaking though.

I use paper towels because of the durability. As mentioned above, napkins and tissues tend to come apart leaving little pieces behind.

Just keep vaping. When I got my 510 kit last December (on a Tuesday) I vaped in the evening only and smoked by day at work. By Thurdsay I found myself missing my vape while I was at work. On Satuday morning I woke up and smoked my last analog with my coffee and then started vaping. For the first couple of months I continued to go out to the "smoke shack" at work to vape, but eventually ended up just vaping at my desk. Best advice is that when you get a craving, vape heavily. I did quite well early on, but found I got some killer cravings a few months down the road. The weren't often, but when they hit - oh man. I was able to vape through them and get through it. I'm pushing a year now and can say that over the past few months I don't recall having any cravings at all.

I'll just add - don't beat yourself up if you need a cigarette once in a while. It's not a big deal.

I have used SmokeStik cartos. And still do sometimes. Since you said you are kind of new at refilling the SS carto....
Not that it matters... but what battery are you using (just curious)

And I've used VT Grape in them and you should be getting clouds of vapor and flavor.

First, did you refill it by pulling all of the little grommets and filter out? Just like Chris's video shows in the previous post. If not, you'll have a puddle of juice at the top and it'll take a long time for it to drain into the carto. You don't have to replace them if you don't want to. (so says the SS rep) but I do because I don't want any chance of juicy in the mouth.

Second, when refilling, tilt the carto and let the juice run down the sides. And when you are finished, drip about 2 drips right down the center tube.

Third. you should be able to get 20-30 drops in a pretty dry carto. But 17 drops should be OK but it may take it a minute to wick down to the elect. filiment (the atty).

SS are made different than most. They have a horizontal attomizer at the bottom of the wicking material. It's very efficient and long lasting but takes a little time for new juice to reach it. Try holding it in your fingers, threads out, and shake it like an old style mercury thermometer. Flick your wrists. It's best not to let it run dry. refill once in a while before running dry.

I hope you didn't pull out the wicking material. Some can get away with it but it's generally Not a good idea. You can wash it while it's still in the carto.

They don't last forever and sometimes they just die. Although, I have to say... I've never had one die yet... but I'm a light vaper.

Feel free to ask questions. I'll do what I can to help. PM me if you like.

Here are links to three very good threads that will get you on your way.

These will give you lists of suppliers for nic and flavoring and supplies, tips and general mixing instructions.

I would suggest starting out with mixing the flavors at 20% and go from there. I usually use 30-35% myself, but everyone is different.

To get 24mg using 48mg nic as a base, use 5ml of nic, 2ml of flavoring and 3ml of PG or VG.

To get 24mg using 36mg nic as a base, use 6.7ml of nic, 2ml of flavoring and 1.3ml of PG or VG.

I think there's also links to a couple of different eliquid DIY calculators in those thread I posted. They are very helpful.

I would go with the eGo and some LR510 attys. I would stay with the 510 atty, either regular or LR, but you'll need bigger batteries (like the eGo) to use the LR atty. The LR atty has a lower resistance than the regular 510 so it heat up faster and hits harder. It's suppose to simulate the 5V experience without an expensive 5V mod.

If you want to go a step further, check into a variable voltage mod such as the Joker AV or the Buzz.
