Synther suggested a Vision clearomiser (Stardust or V2) and I agree but go to Sweet-Vapes.com to get it. They're a dollar cheaper and you can pick up e-liquid there too. Sweet-Vapes has yummy juice.

    http://www.sweet-vapes.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=39&vmcchk=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=84

For now I'd say go with something simple like the V2 or the Nano. I prefer the Nano for new users because it doesn't hold a lot of juice so there's no waste, it's easier to change flavors without having to change clearomizers. Just my two cents.

I love the Vision Spinner! While the eGo Twist is wonderful, one draw back is that it's next to impossible to see the numbers and what voltage you're vaping at. The Vision Spinner is just like the Twist but with easy to read numbers. My new 1300 Spinner is wonderful. It lasts for a loooooong time between charges.

You'll find we all have our favorite toys and we give similar yet different recommendations. I think all of the recs are pretty good for starting out. In the beginning it's good to get something that just "works" and is easy to use. Then, you'll start branching out and trying other things. The easiest for me would be a CE4 (also called a Vision Stardust), Vivi Nova/Vivi Nova Mini, or the new T3 or MT3. You just fill, wait a few minutes so the wicks can get soaked through with e-liquid and vape.

For throat hit on the juice you'll want either more nicotine and/or more PG. For more vapor you'll want the higher VG. I'd say go with a 50 PG/50 VG. The higher the nicotine you get, you'll also sacrifice a little on the flavor. If you smoke full flavor I'd suggest 18 or 24 mg of nic. If you smoked lights, 12 mg of nic. Ultra-lights, 6 mg. Just keep in mind that we all seem to vape more than we smoked so in order not to get a nicotine overdose, you'll want a lower nicotine juice for when you're chain vaping. A higher mg juice for when you're not.

There are wonderful people on this forum who will answer any question...no matter how many. Good luck!

It looks like you should be able to hit the ground running with this kit. If I were you, though, I'd purchase a tank and definitely more liquid right away so you won't have to wait for it when you need it later. In my experience cartomizers don't last long before it needs a refill.

jeffb and mcquinn offer good advice on "something more". With today's easy-to-use designs coupled with low prices on variable voltage PVs, why not go ahead and get something that will take your vaping experience to the next level and beyond?

I'll toss another similar option your way. At roughly the same length as an eGo-C Twist 900mAh, the $21 Vision Spinner 1300mAh goes a really long time between charges. You'll need the charger ($2.99), and I'd recommend Boge 3Ω cartomizers ($5.50). With a 3Ω cartomizer, the maximum power you can achieve using a Twist/Spinner is slightly little less than 8 watts...a great vape IMO without much risk of burning out the cartomizer's coil.

Total cost at VapeLite for the Vision Spinner, charger, and a box of five cartos...$32.49 shipped.

    PS - Don't forget the e-liquid.

The DID series is the most affordable out of the best available, plus it's usually in stock.

Until you are ready for a "forever" atty, pick up a clone, like MSE suggested! (good suggestion MSE!!). Try the AGA-T (get 2 if you can, so you can have spare parts in case you lose a nut or scratch the center tube).
It's a good one to learn the ropes with.
Here is a tutorial for DIY changing out the center tube if it gets scratched, until the vendors start carrying real SS center tube parts for them. http://ukvapers.org/Thread-AGA-T-SS-Center-Post

I think just about everybody carries the AGA-T now, they've become a hot item! (even if they do need improvement).

My apologies for taking so long to get back to you, I've been away from the internet all day, due to rain. Now I'm visiting the kids, and can talk away.

Hi Pat. My advice to you get yourself an ecig that has good reviews and at least a couple of different flavors to try with it. No flavor is going to be exactly the same as what you are smoking but there will be plenty of flavors that you will probably like better. Use your e-cig and smoke your butts when you feel you need to and if you are anything like I was you will find yourself smoking much less. When this happens just tell yourself "that's it!" and never smoke again. Vape for as long as you want and when you want to quit that just do it.

As far as telling you which e-cig to get, well, that's a matter of opinion and there are so many. For less hassle and longer battery life, I would suggest an eGo, KGO, or similar bigger battery type e-cig. There are few smaller cig-style ones that work well but battery life becomes an issue--It sucks to have the thing blink out and need a charge after such a short time.

I think I'd blame it on the flu or something - not vaping. I don't blame vaping for anything. LOL

Seriously, I hope you're feeling better by now.

p.s. by dropping the mg, you can vape more.

Well, my order from Sweet Vapes came in today containing 2 Vision Nano Clearomizers, and all I can say is WOW!!! I just cant believe that something this small can produce vapor so huge! I'll be posting a YouTube video soon and will drop it into this thread to show how an 80PG/20VG liquid (Dekang DK-TAB) can really throw out some thick plumes of vapor with these little guys.

The Sweet Vapes product page said 2.4-2.9Ω, but both clearos metered out to be 1.7Ω, which is actually fine because they'll work really well with my 3.7v 510 e-cig battery that I use at work. I just wanted to let everyone know that you should probably check these with an ohms meter before using them so as not to pop a coil with too high of a voltage setting. I bought a Hongda DT95B Multimeter from Sweet Vapes for $12.95 a few months ago and it works just fine.

Thanks, Tam, for the recommendation...I'll be buying these in bulk for me, the missus, and all my vaping buddies!

Now that some time has passed and I'm sure you've gotten and tried the 12 mg by now...how goes it with the lower nic?

Although I started out with 24 mg of nicotine I'm now mostly vaping 6 mg with an ocassional 12 thrown in just because. Once in a great while when I can't vape as much but need the nicotine in a hurry I fall back on the 24 mg as a temporary stand-by but it's only a few puffs at a time.

Direct dripping is the best way to try new flavors...or so I've found. If the flavors are complementary and/or similar I don't bother to clean out the atomizer between flavors. I do use one atomizer for fruit flavors and a different one for bakery flavors. This way it doesn't matter if one flavor mixes with another for a while. They still taste yummy.

Fruit flavors, I've found, are a bit more delicate, which is why I prefer to use a separate atomizer for them.

When I smoked analogs I didn't smoke them inside the house, always went outside. I smoked in my car but not when there was a non-smoker riding along. On long trips, my stopping to get out of the car to smoke made the trip longer. Oh well. I always crack the window open when I drive, it doesn't matter if I'm smoking, vaping or whatever. I just like the fresh air.

Aaaaaand I'm allergic to little kids so they don't get to ride in my car.

Tam got a reaction from Uma in B&m: They're Not All Bad!
The reason why I had six eGo 650 passthroughs when I joined this forum is because of my local B&M store. The owner is great! I still buy everything I can from him. The only reason why I go online is because his selection is very limited. I even turned him on to Empire Mods' drip shields and the universal drip tip. Although he has a huge selection of e-liquid flavors (all 40 PG/60 VG and 24 mg nic), I don't like any of them other than the Mojito flavor, which is why I buy that in 125 ml bottles.

There are some great B&M stores as well as some not so great. I'm just very lucky to have one in my area.

Okay, I have a stupid question. The gasket he's talking about is cup shaped, yes? So you just turn it over so the cup part sits on top of the wick or does he mean you take the cup shaped gasket and turn it inside out and then replace in the same way it was originally? I've read his instructions several times and I'm still not sure... It could also be that my brain is toast and no matter how many times I read it, it's not going to make sense to me tonight.

Yes. Got them in and have tried two of the three and they both worked flawlessly. Just tried playing with the gasket to see if it made a difference and it did -- just not in a positive way so I put them back the way they came.

For those of you T3 users experiencing dry hits, try this advice from Steve K from his "Kanger T3 Bottom Coil eGo Clearomizer Review" :

"I found in pretty short order, the T3 would give dry hits if I didn’t wait a sufficient amount of time for the coil to re-wick. This was frustrating as I tend to prefer to vape several times in a row.

Fortunately, it turns out there’s a pretty simple modification that can be made to the gaskets to improve liquid absorption and eliminate much of the dry hits. I can’t take credit for this one, a hat tip goes to the good folks over on Reddit.

Unscrew the bottom cap. Remove the gasket that sits on the top of the atomizer, flip the gasket over so the flat side is covering the wicks and replace the gasket. Apparently the gasket in the stock configuration compresses the wicks when the two parts are screwed together. Flipping the gasket keeps it from moving down over the wicks and does not appear to cause additional leaking problems.

Once the hack was in place, I found the T3 much more tolerant to chain vaping. Occasionally, I had to slow down and wait for a few bubbles to appear from the atomizer area. However, those moments were fairly few and far between. Vapor production was already very good, so I can’t really tell if there were any improvements there. I also ran into no additional flooding or gurgling problems in this configuration."

    I hope this helps.

Your body is going through a lot of changes and will probably continue to do so for some time until it adjusts to vaping versus smoking analogs.

That said, have you changed your diet since you started vaping? Asparagus, broccoli, lots of red meat... those are some foods that produce less than preferable results.

Dunno wut's wrong with mine, when i first filled i let it sit for 3 or 4 minutes, then started vaping it on my vamo at 6 watts. Got next to no VTF so i cranked it up to 7 watts and thats where i get horrible scratchy hits. I've since cranked it down to 5.5-6 watts which takes away the scratchy hits but gives me no TH or flavor.

If you're using these, and feel like they're performing well, could you post what watts you're using it at, or the voltage and ohms of your setup?

If you could also include the flavor and PG/VG ratio of the juice i'd appreciate it. I'm using a 75/25 so i wouldn't think the juice is the problem but hey, ya never know.
