Although my post count is high, it was never my intention to add to the post count. My intention has always been to help the new people when I could (even if it wasn't much), to welcome all the new people as I was welcomed when I joined, to give encouragement when it's needed, or to just acknowledge someone or something someone said. There have been times when things got a little "playful" or "chatty", but I always thought that went along with the "family" environment that has been created here. That "family" quality is one of the reasons why I like Vapor Talk so much. Another reason is that people can come here and get all of the information they might need in a friendly and non-threatening way. The people who give so freely of their time and knowledge are what make Vapor Talk what it is. In my opinion, the staff do a wonderful job of keeping everything in line. I truly appreciate each and every one of them.

The v2 appears to be a KR808D-1 (just a little over priced). It should work pretty good (there are a lot of KR808 fans around, just not many here). It's your call on returning it... it should certainly at least give you a good intro to vaping and let you know if it's for you. One advantage of the standard KR808 is that is comes with a 250mah battery vs. the 150mah battery that comes with a standard Joye510 kit. The Joye 510 mega battery is 250mah. If you're a heavy smoker/vaper, 150mah will only last you about 1-2 hours and 250mah will probably go 2-4 hours max. The reason people recommend the eGo is because it has a 650mah battery (you can also now get 900mah and 1300mah batts for it) which will last you 8+ hours (many get 10-12 hours) per charge. Typically, for an extra $20-$30 you can get an eGo and the extended battery life is well worth it. The eGo uses the same atomizer as the standard Joye 510, so it will perform just like the one your friend has. The eGo is quite versatile in that you can use a variety of cartomizers and atomizers on it. If you want more throat hit, get a low resistance atomizer. Don't like direct dripping, get some cartomizers or tanks. There are just a lot of options.

You may want to check with the vendor on the return policy. Many vendors will not let you return the "flavor carts" (cartomizers) even if you haven't opened them. They will give you a refund, but only a partial refund. If that's the case, then heck, open it up and give it a try. It may be just what you want. Vaping is all about finding what works for you.

Drawbacks? Nope, no drawbacks at all.

Well, if you don't count that obsession thing. The one where you just HAVE to have it in your hand at all times, where you just HAVE to see what's going on in VT all the time, where you just HAVE to check out all the new PVs, where you just HAVE to have some of those new PVs, where you just HAVE to have lots and lots of backups, where you just HAVE to try ALL of the flavors out there...you know...that obsession.

Oh wait!! I know one!! A carton of analogs, an ashtray, and a lighter take up a LOT less space than the hoard stash of vaping supplies. I never once, in 34 years of smoking, ever considered having a special room set aside for my smoking supplies...but for vaping supplies, well...

    Brian,
Those are some really nice looking fish you have there! Congrats! I too love to fish! Within 1/4th. of a mile is the Skagit River that I Fish a LOT! Last year when the Salmon were running I spent 10 -12 hours per day, 5 days per week on the river playing Catch and Release. The best day I had was 84 Salmon Caught and Released, plus 6 kept for my limit in 10 hours!

I also have a total of 24 lakes within a 25 mile radius of me that hold Trout, Bass, Perch, Crappie, Catfish, and Bluegills. I never go without a place to fish! Heck, I still have 24 Salmon in my freezer to smoke up or to Bar-B-que!

There's TPA (the Perfumers' Apprentice), FlavorArt (FA or Fart), FlavorWest, Loranns, and a few more.

Here are some of the places I've purchased from (in addition to Liberty Flights):

ecigexpress - they carry most every brand of flavoring. If you find something you really like and want a bigger bottle of it, this is a very good place since they sell 30ml bottles at a really good price. Their "Signature Series" is TPA, just rebranded.

freedomsmokeUSA - All FlavorArt, but a huge selection.

DIY Flavorshack - Loranns, and some special "expert" flavors.

TPA - order directly from TPA.

Loranns - order directly from Loranns.

Eliquidstore - FlavorWest, some TPA and Loranns. They are growing stock. Ordered from them last week and quite happy with the service.

Yes - you want water soluable flavors. If I recall correctly, TPA uses 1st class mail, so shipping is pretty cheap.

Its a good idea to have 3-4 atomizers on hand for just in case. I usually order a couple a month. currently have about 10 (maybe more ) on hand --just in case !!!

No help with shipping canada, sorry.

Dripping = 2-3 drops to atomizer is good for about 6-8 draws. dripping does require more frequent steps, but for me anyway, Its worth it. you can drip 2 drops to the atomizer and replace the cart with liquid in it and you will be good to go. if you use a cart with filler and liquid, you won't have to drip quite as often.
When the flavor changes or gets a burnt taste you need more liquid. if you are dripping its hard to run the atty too dry--the taste is horrendous. You will quickly learn the flavor/vapor changes and when to drip. Honestly, I don't even think about it much anymore, its just becomes routine.

    I agree, Beans.

I hear so many people, when upon hearing of someones illness, say something like, "But you know he/she is a smoker." Like that's the only reason a person would ever get sick. Now they'll probably change "smoker" to "vaper".

I must admit, I vape just about as frequently. I use anywhere from 6mg to 24 mg. for me the nicotine strength doesn't really make a difference is how much I vape. the strength just depends on how much throat hit I want.
I have done the math--and for me anyway-- the mg I smokes vs the mg I vape is about the same--even though I vape many times/hour. I use about 2-3 mls of liquid/day (depending on the day)

I think its more about how she feels about it....I am one that loves the pacifier effect

People like to talk about what they don't know and judge other for some odd reason. As long as you're not hurting me or yourself then vape away

I agree with Dayvape and KaYoTiic. I'm just glad no one is judging my vaping habits. I wouldn't be happy about it if they did. Just like I wouldn't have liked it if someone had judged my smoking habit. I vape just about non-stop and love it. Upping my nic lever wouldn't change that at all. I'd still vape the same amount because I love it.

This is more for you noobies since most of us that have been here for a while already know this.

For you that have just joined us, you're in for a treat. You have found what we here feel is the best forum on the internet. Many have tried other sites and can say with out a doubt that you will not find a more friendly or helpful group of people anywhere. This forum is set up to help and inform every one who is interested in learning about vaping and e-cigs. The staff and members are always ready with insight and help for any and all questions that you have. From the simplest to the complex. Someone is always ready to help or send you to someone who can. Unlike some other sites that are more interested in slamming each other or trying to make you feel stupid, the members here all remember what it was like to be just getting started with vaping and how confusing all the jargon and products can be to the beginner. If someone asks a question you can be sure that a response will be forthcomming in a very short time.
There are many years of experience here on the forum. And the atmosphere is friendly and family friendly as well. As long as the topics in the general area are kept decent there is never any threat of being banned or removed from the forum. There are other areas of the forum to vent your frustration in a more shall we say verbal expression if needed.
The forum also has a store that is second to none. The customer service is far and away above any you will find anywhere else. Chris is the most dedicated vendor on the net. He goes above and beyond what most would do for a customer. I can't begin to say enough about his thoughtfulness and concern for his customers. You wont find a better supplier or friend anywhere, period! If you were to take a pole of the members who have been here for any time the testimonials would be staggering. He is constantly looking out for his members and keeps his forum running like a fine machine. Always trying to improve on what we already think is perfection, he is neverending in his diligence and dedication to both the forum and the store. The Vapor Talk staff as well are always ready to do what ever it takes to keep this forum up and running in a manner that is just excellent. So..this is my view of what I feel will be a great experience for all who join us. Like I said...It's a love story for the forum and all the members and staff that make this the best place on the net for vapers to get together and enjoy the mutual experience of vaping. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I (we) do.

    Good luck and Happy Vaping

To the staff...please move this to another area if this is the wrong place...thanks.

I'm looking forward to playing Xbox and also catching up on all my shows on Hulu. Army Wives, Bones, NCIS (when they're available grrr). I am addicted to many things in life... and I'll give up my vaping when I have the right frame of mind to give them all up. Fair is fair.

I smoked for 34 years. I loved smoking. I never wanted to quit, but felt like I should. Partly because of the health benefits and partly because of the cost. I didn't know that I couldn't breathe very well. I didn't know how bad I smelled. Until I quit. When I first heard about the ecig, my first thought was that I could keep "smoking" and yet not be smoking. I wouldn't have to give up the hand to mouth habit or the inhaling habit. Thrilled me all to pieces. It worked as well for me as I thought it would. From the very first inhale, I knew I never wanted another analog again. I absolutely love vaping. As much as I thought I loved smoking, it doesn't even come close to my love of vaping. I'm at 17 months and counting now. I have no plans whatsoever of quitting. I don't want to quit. I enjoy vaping - even at 0 nic. I love watching the clouds of vapor I produce. I look forward to sitting down to take a break and having my vape. I don't see me ever wanting to quit. Now, if it just happens...if someday down the road I find myself vaping less and less until I don't vape any more at all...well, that's okay. I just don't see me doing that on purpose. Like ripple, I find it to be a wonderful hobby and I can't say I'll never quit. I'm just not working towards that.

It depends on which kind you get. The Ali'i is made from carved wood, takes an 18650 battery, and holds a 6ml bottle of liquid. It is a bit bulky - although I don't notice it at all when I'm sitting around the house, or in the car, vaping. It's too bulky to carry around in a pocket though. And it does have some weight to it.

The old goats mod is very small - in my opinion. It takes a 14500 battery and holds a 3ml bottle of liquid. I can easily hide the whole thing in my hand...it's extremely lightweight, and can be carried in a pocket or worn on a lanyard around your neck.

I have both models and would highly recommend either one. Both work very well and I couldn't be any happier with them. I love not having to drip with them. The Ali'i is pricey, but the old goats mod is very reasonably priced.

Right up front...I'm sorry...but I'm going to say this. I've read your post several times and I keep seeing this..."I know that if I smoke so many "analogs" I am safe". Seriously? You think you are "safe" smoking analogs? I'm really sorry, but there is no way you are "safe" with analogs. If you vaped so much that you "actually threw up a couple of times", you were vaping way too much or a very, very high mg of nic. Why did you not back off if you were throwing up? I don't understand that. It makes no sense to me.

As far as..."ALL OF THE MEDICAL INFORMATION NOT PROVIDED IN THE VAPING COMMUNITY as far as nicotine overdose"...we are all taking a chance by vaping instead of smoking. We all made up our own minds and decided for ourselves that we were better off without all the extra chemicals that came with smoking. We have never claimed to be doctors, nor have we claimed to know all the answers. We just know that we feel better. But...several people have asked their doctors about vaping and were told it was much, much better. Most doctors are all for it. As far as I know, none of those doctors have given out written instructions about nicotine overdose. But I do think you could probably do some searching and find those answers for yourself if you really want them. I think that most of us have just "played it by ear" and decided what we needed and how much and how often. Since you do not seem to be comfortable with that, and you seem to be so terribly worried about how safe vaping is, and you seem to think that smoking is safe, perhaps you should visit your own doctor and get your answers there.

"I think the "vaping" endorsers should come out with some type of guide line as far as nicotine levels, this is just bad business and I personally do not want to gamble with my health even more." Really? I happen to think that the suppliers are doing an awesome job with the information they give out. They give you all the information needed to make an intelligent decision. You know exactly what ingredients are in the liquid. Do you know exactly what ingredients are in cigarettes? Do the companies who sell cigarettes give you the kind of information you think the vaping vendors should give?

I am curious if you went into this much detail and worry before you started smoking. Did you know (before you got all these answers to your post) exactly how much nicotine you were taking in while smoking? I never did. I never saw anything, anywhere, that told me how much nicotine I was taking into my system per cigarette. Did you know for a fact how many cigarettes you would have to smoke before you got nicotine poisoning? Where does it tell you how many cigarettes you have to smoke before you get cancer? I don't see that kind of information out there in ads or on cigarette packages. But you should read the warnings on all the "quit smoking" stuff they have out there...especially chantix. That stuff says outright that you may commit suicide if you use the stuff.

Most of us have tried all the different ways to quit smoking because we knew it wasn't good for us. It didn't work. That's why we chose to vape instead. For most of the people in this forum, vaping did work for us. We're all happy with our decision. We come to this forum to help out any of the new people who are looking for answers, because people helped us get started in the same way. We are here because we care and we want to help. We don't have all the answers, but we do the best we can. I know that everyone here would be willing to help you out all they can, but no one here has all the answers.
