Rixter got a reaction from Tam in Fort Worth man dies after vape pen explodes in his face, report says
"Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day. On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers."

I like my odds...I think I'll keep vaping.

There's simply no better RDA on the market. The Profile is miles above anything else out there. Best flavor, vapor production, ease of use, ramp up time, etc. I'm a huge fan of the Goon v1, but the Profile makes the Goon seem anemic. BTW - OFRF nexMESH strips make the Profile even better.

Rixter reacted to Tam in Vaping (dot) Watch
Some time ago Rixter did a review on Vaping.Watch's "Clockwerks Custard" juice. I decided to give it a try because he made it sound so good (Rixter has a way of doing that). Ordered a 30 ml bottle at 6 mg nic. It comes in a square glass bottle with a separate dripper cap. I ordered a second dripper cap just in case.
When the priority box came, it was in a plastic bag that USPS put it in because the box was smashed flat and the cardboard was all wet and dripping.
I took pictures immediately before opening it and found the glass bottle smashed to smithereens. Went to their website and contacted them with the pictures. Watch, the owner, got back to me apologizing all over the place. All I wanted was an apology and a replacement for the juice. He asked about the dripper caps and I told him that one was fine, I'd need a replacement for the other.
He sent me two 30 ml bottles "for my inconvenience" and a new dripper cap priority mail wrapped like a mummy in bubble wrap.
Fast forward to this week. I reordered some more Clockwerks Custard (because it really is that good and a great mixer with other juices). I also ordered a couple more dripper caps because I found that the one I thought was okay... wasn't.
Got the order in the other day.
They changed to round bottles and the dripper cap was for the smaller round bottles and wouldn't fit the second square bottle that Watch had sent before.
I contacted them again. This time, Wrecker75 answered (gotta love their names!). All I asked was how could I order the dripper caps to fit the square bottles?
He sent me two for free.
The customer service I've gotten from this company and the people who work there has been outstanding! I couldn't ask for better. The juice is amazing... I must try some more of their flavors.
Thanks to Rixter for bringing this small company to my attention. I will be ordering more from them. They've more than won my loyalty.

Nope, not a good idea. Listen to the wise words of @Squid, @Rixter and @Walt. They give good advice to not use the batteries you currently have. Go get three new batteries of the same make and model, it's much cheaper to do that than to pay a hospital bill.

We'll need to know a little more about your setup to give you an accurate answer, but In a mech mod, the lowest resistance load you can safely go with on a fully charged battery (4.2v) and stay under your battery's 20 amp limit is .21Ω, which will yield 84 watts.
    Voltage / Resistance = Current (amps)..........Voltage² / Resistance = Power (watts)
Remember, your resistance can/will change do to a variety of reasons, so it's imperative that you keep a close eye on your coil's resistance fluctuations, especially if you are setting it up to run at your battery's safety threshold.

I'm going to do you a huge favor and not answer that.  You have to understand what you are doing with a mech mod.

Rixter got a reaction from Christopher in THE GOON RDA – OVERVIEW
I know I'm about a year late on replying to the original post, but I just bought a Goon RDA about a month ago. and It's the easiest to build and best performing dripper I've ever used. Most RDAs that I've seen lately have bottom airflow of some sort, which might be okay for some vapers, but there's always the possibility of leaking. With the Goon's old-school design approach of side airflow (adjustable for single or multiple coils) and a fairly deep juice well, there's almost no chance of leaking unless you lay your mod on its side.
Solid design, a large build deck, huge adjustable airflow, and precise machining make the Goon by 528 Custom Vapes a superior choice for cloud/flavor chasers.

Okay...I'm starting to get the feeling that this post is a ploy to get a rise out of some folks in the know about such things as DEADLY POISONOUS LEVELS OF NICOTINE!!!
I don't even know the proper procedure for disposal of something so deadly, but you need to find out, and then you need to do it. IMO, anyone asking questions like you did obviously doesn't know the math necessary to DIY safely, and owes it to anyone who might enter a room in your house where you've broken the seal on pure nicotine to get rid of it promptly and properly before somebody dies.

These are rough figures and are meant for demonstration.  I am not advising you to do this

pure nic is 1000mg per milliliter.
1 drop is approximately .06 milliliters
therefore 1 drop is equal to 60 miligrams of nic.
If your tank holds 2 mils then you would be increasing your nic level to 30mg plus whatever you nic level is in your juice already.  If it's 12 then it would become 42.

    VERY DANGEROUS TO DO!

When dealing with pure pure nicotine I wouldn't even consider adding it to less than 30 mils of juice.  1 drop added to 30 mils of juice would roughly increase it by 2mg.

If if you have to ask this question, then you shouldn't be handling pure nicotine!!!!
sorry to be so blunt but it's a fact!

Got mine today and the vapor production is outrageous. I've vaped a lot of setups over the years, but this is light years ahead of anything I've tried before. Puts my best drippers and sub-ohm tanks to shame...x10. No problems wicking max VG juice, either.

The factory SMOK TVF8 coils are all kanthal.  I've heard rumors of SS coils coming, but to this point they are just rumors.
And I agree on the Hohm mods.  I have the Hohm Slice.  Loving the ability to run my baby beasts in TC mode.

    Welcome to Vapor Talk!
The Aspire Archon has TCR mode so you can use Kanthal and Nichrome in TC-mode, but dialing them in is kinda finicky because you have to know the Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) value of the wire you are using...  Once you have that, you can put the MOD into TCR mode, key in the TCR value, and vape happy (once you dial in the temperature, that is).  Length of wire, coil size, micro/macro coil, etc. will also affect the TCR value, but it should be minimal.
Here are some TCR values I've used with success ...
    Ni200: "0600" [0.00600] (According to Steam-Engine.org)
    TitaniumGrade1: "0366" [0.00366] (According to Steam-Engine.org)
    SS316L: "0088" [0.000879] (According to Steam-Engine)
    SS317L: "0094" [0.00094] (According to Steam-Engine.org)
    Nichrome: 0.00040 (According to DJLsbVapes)
    Nichrome N60 (C): 0.000178
    Nichrome N80 (A): 0.000112
    Kanthal NiFe70: 0.0052
By no means assume these are absolute values!  You'll need to play around with your MOD and the settings to fine-tune it, but these should give you a good starting point?

Rixter reacted to Bebop in looking to replace my vape? Advice?
Everybody has different vaping styles.  Or different vaping techniques. All of these variations lead to different performance. Different flavor.  Different coil life.

I have pretty good working hypothesis on this.  My wife and I use the same coils and tanks.  We both vape a variety of juices. She goes thru coils twice as fast as I do.  Sometimes we even use pre made coils but most of the time we use coils I make myself.  She says to me, "can you check my coils?"  I take a hit off her rig.  GAUGH!!!   Terrible!  I just made these coils a few days ago. My coils last 2 weeks sometimes with just a drop off on flavor but nothing close to burnt.
    How is that possible?
We have completely different vaping styles.  I like LOTS of airflow.  I take relatively quick, hard pulls with lots of airflow.  On a cool coil I take a couple primer puffs just as I fire the mod, not inhaling.  Then, I do a nice deep and brisk pull. I get lots of flavor and vapor. I vape higher wattage than she does.  Yet, my coils last twice as long.
My wife, on the other hand, fires her mod then starts to nurse her hits. These long, gentle draws.  You can hear the juice cooking on the coil.  She gets way less vapor.  The contrast to our styles is either end of a broad spectrum.  I'm sure everyone varies between these extremes and some fall outside of these extremes.
but I'm pretty sure that coil longevity is tied to juice flow rate and airflow.
there's a good chance that if you are prematurely burning coils up, then your airflow rate is too low for your wattage setting and the juice is just sitting there cooking on the coil.  I'm not really saying it's wrong or right to vape one way or another.  But I do think it explains why different people have different results to the same coil.
Not all coils are the same, for sure.  I think most experienced vapers develop a sense for how much air to cpull over that coil.  There's a little sweet  spot in there you can feel and hear.  And any "low watt" vaper probably has experienced the sensation of pulling too much air over a coil too which can be pretty unsatisfying as well.  Just lots of air.

    just my thoughts on it
