to get the most nic absorbtion from vaping requiers a diff technique, as the vapor particals are much larger then the smoke from an analog. take long slow drags roughly 5-7 secs hold it in you mouth for a sec or two and then inhale... and exhale slowly thru the nose. as the nic absorbs into the mucus walls easier than in the lungs. also try getting the highest level of nic content in your juices. the highest ive seen is 36mg.

the best steup imho for ease of use and reliability would be an ego-c / and or the ego-c twist (if your looking for vv) along with a LR DCT(low resistance dual coil cartomizer tank)

Actually, I just ordered one of those for my dad's Christmas present. I love the one I have, but I would've preferred the one with the original eGo button.

I use a 3.2Ω Vision V3 Clearomizer on mine at 5v providing 8 watts of power...and it works beautifully. The higher resistance on a battery capable of 5+ volts keeps the current at just over 1.5 amps. That keeps the switch really cool and provides plenty of battery life while still providing plenty of power.

I think you're gonna really like it.

In lieu of a lengthy review of the eGo-V LCD Variable Voltage Passthrough I bought from ecig-parts.com, I'll just say that I really like it a lot. I like the wide range of voltages available (3v-6v in .1v increments). I like being able to see the voltage I'm set at and remaining charge with a glance at the LCD. I like being able to plug in the USB cable to charge it without having to remove the cone and DD (i.e. atty/carto/tank).

I don't like the flush-mount fire button. I can't just feel for the button so I have to look at the device to find it...maybe I'll get used to it soon.

I also don't like the fact that the cable is not a standard mini-USB, but I do have a digital camera that uses the same connection, so I have a backup if necessary.

Kudos to ecig-parts.com for getting it to me so quickly! I ordered it Tue, Oct 9, 2012 at 5:41 PM, and it was in my mailbox on Fri, Oct 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Fastest shipping I've seen lately, and I'm completely satisfied with their service.

My new Vision V3 from sweet-vapes.com is leaking where the plastic tank meets the bottom metal band. I put a piece of Scotch tape around it but now it's really ugly. I've had some tanks that looked identical to this one but without the vision logo on the band and never had a leak. Very disappointing. I haven't complained to them and I'm sure they'd replace it since it's new, but I just haven't had the time or energy to make the effort.

Since you prefer SR, I'm going to suggest IkenVape's IKV 901 SR Atomizer 2.5Ω. IkenVape produces some really incredible atties, and are the only place I know of at the moment who have quality SR and HR 901s. The complete IkenVape 901 lineup (LR,SR, & HR) can be found here.

Using an eGo drip shield, I start a fresh 901 atty off by dripping 6-7 drops in, wait about 30 seconds, and add a few more just before vaping. With said shield in place, I usually add 5-6 drops when vapor production starts dropping off.

The 901 is a different beast as it has an air vent hole in it's side, and as you probably already know from your research, the drip shield was invented by Empire Mods specifically for the 901 atty to contain the leaking e-liquid and provide a reserve. The big difference between the 901 and 510s/306s is that the 901 seems to still produces good vapor when it's flooded (coil submerged), where the others don't (in my experience).

Remember to get a couple because for some reason, higher end atties are a little unpredictable as to lifespan...my last one lasted just over 3 weeks, but I think I popped it by accident when I put it on my VV set for a HR atty.

I hope this helps and I'm sure that once you try a good 901, you'll have a hard time going back to anything else. I haven't been able to enjoy my other atties as much since I started using 901s...at least that's where I am now.

Just one? EC Blend's Chocolate Malt gets vaped at a slightly higher rate than anything else I have on hand. Light on TH, but for a dessert vape, that can be a good thing. At 50/50 PG/VG, which is EC Blends starting point mix, vapor production is excellent, and it tastes great (to me).

Same here with the hot water. I run a glass of very hot water, drop in my juice bottle, shake it up occasionally while the water temperature drops to room temperature, and it's done. Tastes just like juices that I put up to "mellow".

Try it yourself...put some of your newly purchased juice in a small bottle and try the "hot water steeping" method...compare it to the juice you don't soak and you'll notice a difference.

When I came home today I found a package from Vapelite. My order of 5 Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite - $3.50 had come in.

Rixter? Your rec is made of AWESOME!

The attomizers are no brainers to use, gives off a smooth, cool vapor, and the flavor is really coming through. These days the only time I'm not dripping is when I'm in the car driving. Otherwise, I can't make myself use anything else. Now I'm curious how a bridgeless atty will do in comparison. I'm sold on Boges at the moment.

So far, I've tried several reasonably priced atties and listed my results below. Although the ohms ratings were different, I adjusted my voltage to provide the same wattage to each atty so I could be as objective as possible. I also tried several different juices to see if that made any difference, and with and without a variety of drip shields and drip tips.

    1) IKV io6 LR Atomizer 1.8Ω from IkenVape - $8.49 - Great taste and performance, but little harsh at times.

    2) IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.5Ω from IkenVape - $8.49 - Just got it today so it needs to break in a little, but the great flavor and easy draw definitely suits my taste.

    3) Vapage 510 Hybrid Atomizer 1.5Ω Universal from Clouds of Vapor - $8.99 - Good taste and draw, but popped after only 6 days of moderate usage.

    4) Smok Tech 510 2Ω Atomizer from Sure Vapes - $6.49 - Got this one a couple of months ago, and it still tastes great despite some decline in airflow from major use.

    5) Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite - $3.50 - At such a low price and with such good taste and performance, this one just might be my favorite.

All the atties that I tried provided comparable taste and performance, and I can't really call any out as being "The Best", but if I had to pick two, they would be the IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.5Ω from IkenVape for the easy draw & capacity, and the Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite for the excellent price.

    ...and the search goes on...

Rixter’s First Impression of the Vision ViVi Nova Rebuildable Clearomizer

    -OR-

    Livin’ La ViVi Nova!!!

    Hello, vapers.

I arrived home Wednesday to find a really important package in my mailbox. Yup...the order I placed Saturday afternoon for a Vision ViVi Nova tank system was waiting for me to start reviewing! Getting my online purchases in my hands promptly is a really good way to keep me coming back, so right off the bat, I gotta give esmokeronline.com a gold star for fast processing. They were also speedy about answering my email regarding how to identify the version I received (v2). Good job, guys...I’ll be back!

After carefully opening the USPS Small Flat Rate Box and emptying the package onto the table, I noticed something that made me worry slightly...inside the package was one ViVi Nova box (roughly 3-3/8” x 2-3/16” x 7/8”), two business cards from the vendor, and precisely six pieces of packing popcorn. This device box had nothing substantial to keep it from pinballing around inside the package while in transit. Although it arrived unscathed, I think that a little bit better job of securing the product (maybe paper or bubble-wrap) is definitely in order.

The Vision ViVi Nova Clearomizer attached to an Innokin Leo Pro

I have to say that the ViVi Nova looked very impressive in its form-fitting inner packaging, which also displays the two additional heads. It’s a little bit smaller than the pictures on the website led me to believe, but as you can see from the shots I took of it on an Innokin Leo Pro, it’s not tiny. I did encounter a little problem when I screwed it onto my Leo Pro...it was a little lop-sided, but after making some minor manual adjustments to the bottom plate (using only my fingers), I got it to stand up straight like it’s supposed to. Considering my luck as of late, I would like to think that this was an isolated incident and I received the one and only ViVi Nova ever made that wasn’t perfectly straight. Only time will tell.

Since my current favorite delivery system is CCV’s 1.7 ohm Resurrector cartomizer, I immediately decided to forgo using the attached 2.4 ohm or included 2.8 ohm heads, and made a bee-line for the 1.8 ohm head instead. Following the online”break in” instructions, I filled it to the top line (2.8 ml in graduated .35 ml increments), screwed on the top, and gave it a little shake to wet the wicks. Everything buttoned up nicely, and after turning it completely upside-down, rightside-up, and everything in between, I decided that leaking shouldn’t be a problem with this system. The top of the coil head has a seal that presses firmly against the screw-on top when closed. The manner in which everything seals up when the top is snugged down doesn’t appear to leave any place for it to leak from. So far, the Nova seemed to be a solidly built, well-designed piece of vaping gear perfect for home use, but how would it handle moderately heavy vaping and riding around in my baggy cargo-shorts pockets while I worked for 8 hours at a very busy furniture and cabinet shop?

There was really only one way to find out if this thing is rugged enough for my tastes, and that was by passing a real-world stress test. So on Thursday morning, I dropped my Nova-topped Leo Pro into my pocket and headed off to work. Throughout the day, I vaped on it for a bit, and then stowed it back in my pocket by just dropping it in and letting it lay how it landed. Don’t get me wrong...I didn’t abuse it, and was somewhat mindful of the gear in my pocket, but I didn’t give it any special treatment either. If it was too fragile to take it, then the worst that could happen is that it would break and I would smell like e-juice ‘til bathtime...no big deal.

It didn’t break. It didn’t even leak. In fact, late in the afternoon, I pulled off the drip tip to have a peek inside, and saw maybe half a drop of e-liquid pooled in the corner of the drip tip well. Not bad. This thing rode topsy-turvey all day long without leaking so much as a single drop! No gurgle, either...not one time. I am really very impressed with the solidness of the Nova, and even if I should somehow crack the tubing, threaded replacement tanks made of either metal or plastic are available in several colors for about $3.

How does it vape? I’d have to say that concerning the “Big Three” (flavor, throat hit, vapor production), the ViVi Nova scored top marks across the board. I can’t say much about the 2.4 ohm or 2.8 ohm heads (because I never even used them), but the 1.8 ohm head really shined. Of course, F/T/V depends a lot on the e-juice you use, but as a general statement, the Nova definitely performed well in all three categories. I didn’t have a single juice that tasted odd because of this device. PG, VG, and blended sauces that work just fine in my 1.7 ohm Resurrectors worked just as fine in the Nova...and the Nova holds more juice. Things didn’t pop with quite the ferocity of the Resurrectors, but it still popped (think wild tiger vs. zoo tiger).

I won’t get into the supposedly simple DIY coil rebuilding, but I don’t really see the need to make your own coils when you can pick up a replacement head in 1.8, 2.4, or 2.8 ohm resistance levels for around $3. Unless you are just an avid DIYer (or an extreme cheapskate), you can order a couple of extra heads for around the price of a Happy Meal.

Overall, I’m impressed. I’ve tried quite a few delivery systems, one of which (the Resurrector cartomizer, of course) still resides at the very top of my go-to list, but now it has a little company (it can be lonely at the top). The Vision ViVi Nova Clearomizer get top marks in design, toughness, quality, and performance. The idea that you can easily disassemble the entire device for cleaning and maintenance, plus the fact that you can change elements on the fly, just adds flexibility to the mix and makes this one a real competitor. You can get yourself one at quite a few places around the web, or you can get one at the same place I got mine, esmokeronline.com...that is if you like good prices, fast shipping, and great customer service.

    Until next time...happy vaping!

Without using any adapters, I have very successfully used many 510-thread delivery devices on my eGo batteries, including (but not limited to) CCV 1.7Ω SC Resurrector Cartomizers, Boge 2Ω SC Cartos, a SmokTech 1.7Ω SC eGo Cone Carto, a Smok Tech 510 2Ω Atomizer, a Vision ViVi Nova 1.8Ω Tank Atomizer (never leaked a drop), and Vision V2 and V3 (rebuildable) 1.8Ω Clearomizers (never a leak here, either).

Using various adapters, your choices are virtually endless. With the standard eGo batteries, you'll probably want to go with a low resistance carto, tank, or atty, because of the lower voltage that device provides. With the Twist, you can use pretty much anything you want, provided it's 510, or you have purchased the proper adapters for the various other threadings out there. I have used 510-eGo, 510-KR808D-1, 510-RN4081, 510-510 (riser).

Just remember, you'll probably want to vape at somewhere between 6 and 8 watts of power if you're just starting out (so you don't pop a coil), so you'll need to decide on what the resistance needs to be for the carto/tank/atty you purchase for your standard eGo battery. You can use the online calculator here by simply filling in your battery's voltage and desired wattage...click "calculate" and you will be provided with the resistance in ohms for the device you'll need to buy. I prefer 1.7-2Ω delivery devices on my 3.7v batteries, so that puts me at 6.8-8 watts of power.

I think I will get a couple more, but I'm going to try the 1.8 ohm version next time. I hate to judge on one popped atty, and maybe the 1.8 ohm version will be a little more forgiving than the 1.5 ohm, and they do provide really good taste. However, I can't really look at an $8 (+ shipping) atomizer as "disposable". I mean, I know it's going to die someday, but compared to Boge 2ohm and CCV 1.7 ohm Resurrector cartos for around a buck, I can't justify the expense. On another note, I have to say that the IkenVape 1.8 ohm io6 I got in the mail today kicks major butt in the taste department right out of the package. With the exception of airflow problems on some of my PVs, it just might be the best tasting delivery device I have ever tried.

Here's a handy little online calculator that does the math for you if you're the curious type. Just enter your device's voltage and your carto/atty/tank's resistance, click the "Calculate" button, and the wattage and amperage will be displayed. It might make things a little easier to figure out what products will perform the same as what you already have, especially when it's time to buy new gear that performs like your favorites. It's also handy when trying to figure out what to set your variable voltage devices at to match other PV's performance.
