First tugboat mod, firing button stuck?

Recommended Posts

I just got my first tugboat mod and using a standard ultra fire 18650 battery 3.7 volts 3600mAh. Have the rda all built and ready and magnets in place with the battery but when I connect the rda to the battery, there is no room to push it to fire. It is stuck and just fires the whole time. I noticed the positive end on the rda going to the battery is a little longer and wondering now if this is why? Please help!!

Also, make sure your magnets are facing opposite... they should repel each other, not pull towards each other.

3600mAh?  I'll assume that is a Panasonic button-top battery?  If so, gag8tor is correct... your mod will work better with a flat-top battery, and I'll suggest the 20A Samsung 25r...or the purple Efest 35A.  Samsung batteries are my go-to, for their reliability (and cost).

Also, just out of curiosity... what is the Ohms of your coil build?

Those are my batteries. They were suggested when I bought the mod. I made sure the magnets were in the correct way repelling each other that's why I was hoping it was the battery. I did not see this though, on this picture it says the tested capacity is 1000mAH. Also my build was actually one that came with it and it's sitting at .4 ohms.

Thank you guys for listening and replying so fast!!

Those Ultrafires are only rated to either 2A or 4A (at best), which means they are not safe for a 0.4 Ohm load.

At a 2A limit, your max Ohm coil would be 2.0... at a 4A limit, your max Ohm load will be 1.0 Ohm.  To run a 0.4 Ohm coil, you will need a battery capable of 10.5A (minimum), which is why we always suggest using a 20A rated battery for any mod that will be running sub-ohm coils.

As of the 1000mAh capacity... that will run all day with a 1.8 Ohm coil (Kanger or Aspire tank)... higher is better, as they will last longer between charges, but 1000mAh is not horrible...

See I said that at the store and they looked at me like I was crazy!! Haha thank you so much that clears a lot up for me and as for the firing button, do you still think that is because of the battery not being a flat top?

I would suggest using Samsung 25r batteries.  You can usually pick them up for $6.50 to $7.50 each, and they have an excellent service and safety record.  LG HE2 are also good...  If you want higher Amp ratings... Efest has a nice 35A battery, but they are usually $11+ in price.  For most builds (down to 0.2 Ohm), the Samsung batteries will perform well.
