1. While trying to insert a link, the page will go gray and numb.
1B. While trying to insert an image, the page will go gray and numb. (have to close the page during the gray or sit there for a few days).
2. While trying to just add an url directly to the page itself instead of using the handy insert widget on the posting taskbar, I get this error code:
error type: ipb.texteditor.geteditor("edit-"+ postid) is undefined

I tried to edit above post and it won't let me save. I get the error report again.
#1 and #1B happen everywhere all the time to me
#2 happened in the General eCig forum under the Got Pics toppic
I would give you the url, but I'd have to type it out and you're nuttier than me if you think I'm going to type out a full url....

Sounds like an issue with the quick editor. When you past a link into the forum it will usually "minify" the link so it's not so long. It sounds like during that process things are freezing up on your end.
Can you please tell me what browser you are using and what version

FireFox 7.01 with latest update. (it doesn't say under properties but I think 10.7 was the last one).

I noticed it doesn't like png files either.

I use a direct link from Photobucket and use the "Image" icon to insert the link. Works great.

That's what I tried to do, but it won't work that way...
but it did let me do an img code link in a new post later in the thread.
Weird

I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox and it seems to be working fine on my end. I click the link icon and pasted a link, click the image icon and pasted in an image link and finally just added a link into the editor box with no issues.
Are you running the latest version of flash perhaps?
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
I'd also make sure your java files are up to date also
http://www.java.com/...nload/index.jsp
And finally, when you clink on the link icon and image icon another box will pop up. This box allows you to insert a link into the thread. It's important you ensure you don't have any pop up blockers running. They may be killing out the box. It's normal for the screen to gray out but usually you'll see a little box pop up in the middle of the screen asking you for your image or HTML link. If that box doesn't show, it could be that your software is blocking it.

I do have pop-up blockers....
and the last firefox update bumped out my Java. Said it wasn't compatible
Hopefully the next update will fix all the things it messed up this time. I'll try posting with another browser.
Thanks Chris for checking into this.
(but it was supposed to be YOUR fault, cuz YOU know HOW to FIX all these geeky gadgets lol)

Can you turn of your pop up blockers and see if that helps? If so, you should be able to add an exception rule for Vapor Talk.

Nope, didn't work.
I made VT an exception to the pop-up blocker, closed the browser, restarted and tried to post in test thread. Numb and Gray.
(but the CHROME browser worked!)

So it's only Firefox based...hmmm.
I wonder what's running on your FF that's causing the problem. My FF browser is not using any add ons at all. I would try shutting off your ad ons, then turning each one on one by one until you figure out what's causing the problem. I ran a test on two machines using stock FF browsers (latest version) and had no issues.
So we just have to figure out what's different about your computer. Then I can perhaps download the add on and figure a work around.

Good news! Recieved a new JAVA update this morning and now everything is working fine again in FF.
Will now go try the other error mssg that Chrome has in that other error thread.
