The Kr808 Thread

Just thought it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to the kr808 battery and it's vendors and products. If anyone has any questions please feel free to post here and i will do my best to answer them. I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to this particular ecig. I will try to bump this thread occasionally (without making it to annoying lol) so that any noobs that may have questions will see it. Just kind of wanted to give the kr808 it's own thread since it seems that most of this site is only geared towards the eGo or vv. Unless a mod feels like making this a sticky or sub forum somewhere.........

Anywho, here's a list of vendors that i have personally used and have never heard of, or had any problems with. In fact nothing but good service from all these vendors.

http://www.vapor4life.com/home.php

http://smokelessimage.com/

http://bloogplanet.com/ -these guys just put out a new batt called the Trifecta, which can be used as a manual, auto, or passthru battery which in the world of kr808's is big. it's the first of it's kind, i've yet to try one out but hopefully will soon.

http://www.v2cigshop.com/ -these guys may be a tad overpriced but none the less they're a good vendor

http://www.cigeasy.com/Default.asp- these guys aren't technically an 808 vendor only, but they do carry what's called the "Elite 808" which is comparable to an eGo with 808 threading. Really nice product for the money.

There are many others but these are the most well known, and dependable imho. As i said, if there are any questions please feel free to post away and i will be happy to help!

Hidden Cost Savings In Being Analog Free....

Its real easy to calculate how much $$$ you save on quitting analogs by subtracting out the $$ you would spend on per pack. 6 months in, and for me its about $1,700. 1.5 packs a day times 180 days. In MD its costs about $6.35 per pack with tax. But I’m interested in any hidden savings people are getting as well.

Like for me, my daily work day morning ritual would consist of going to the local corner store, to buy my pack of cigs for the day, BUT I would always also get a cup of coffee and a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. That’s $4-$5 right there. Now that I don’t smoke any more, I never go there any more. In the last 6 months, I think I’ve been there only 2 or 3 times…

Now in the mornings, since I don’t stop for cigs, I make my own coffee in the morning, and eat breakfast at home. So really in addition to the $1,700+ I saved on analogs, I also calculate I’ve saved an additional $500 in breakfast sandwich/coffee purchases.

Just wondering what other hidden savings people have…

Should I Even Bother With Vv?

I've been really wanting to pick up one of the LavaTube clones for awhile now, i figure it's the only thing left to do with vaping. I've used slim style ecigs, fat batts, passthrus, manuals, autos etc.. etc.. and i'm really interested to try out variable voltage vaping. With the cost of variable voltage only going down from what it once was (right now you can get a vv tube mod with lcd display, a battery, a charger, a drip tip, an atty and a 1 year warranty for 60 bucks shipped which is just dirt cheap) it just seems silly not to try it since even though i am feeling satisfied with my overall vaping experience i still have the desire to try new things! lol

so i'm stuck on what to do at this point, on the one hand i've spent alot of time lately thinking how lucky i am that i really have no complaints with my current setups. i'm completely satisfied with the way my vaping is going right now, and has been going for some time.

and on the other hand, the vv mod with battery charger and atty and a one year warranty is only 60 bucks, it's almost like a "y not?", maybe i'll discover that the vv vaping is ten times better than what i'm currently doing.

i dunno, what's everyone think?

Help! I Need Warmer Vaper.

I just bought a lava tube and have been trying to get to kick out as warm of vaper as a cisco lr306 at 3.2 volts. I have tryed a 510 3.0 ohm and 2.? ohm at 6 volts and I thought that would do it but it doesn't really get there. I know that this device is going to drop the voltage down but it shouldn't for 3.0 ohm. The next thing I am going to try is a 3.0 ohm 306 at 6 volts and a 3.ohm cartomizer at 6 as well. I would just stick to the lr306 but they burn out really fast and I have a ton of 510 I thought i was going to be abe to use up. Anyone have any thoughts on how I can get warmer vaper out of a lava tube. Thanks

Vg Vs. Pg Throat Hit...a Battle To The Death!

Not really but I like epic thread titles :p

So which do you prefer? IMO PG liquids seem to give me a throat hit like I just inhaled some pepper spray. Really strong and punches the back of the throat. VG liquids give me more of a lungy throat hit. Not as prominent on the inhale but a more full bodied in and out throat hit. What I mean is its not sharp, you can feel the heavy vapor in the lungs, and exhaling gives a much less harsh back of the throat th.

I am not usuing the words harsh or anything like that to knock a PG throat hit. I do like the initial kick on the inhale but overall I prefer the smoother more well rounded throat hit of a solid VG liquid.

This is all my opinion and throat hit depends on a lot more than PG or vg but to me both liquids have 2 completely different kinds of throat hit.

Which do you prefer and why?

The One Stop Shop Is...........

I'm pretty new into vaping and just got my bloog today after using a crappy gas station pv. I wanted to order a couple extra USB chargers and some other odds and ends such as eliquids and whatever else I can get my hands on. Is there any certain site that you guys can recommend that sells quality products and has good customer service. A good deal is always nice but I'm a true believer in you get what you pay for. Thanks in advance.

How Do You Clean Up An E-Liquids Spill On Cotton?

I've always been careful about where I lay my mods, except this time I've done it! Some Irish Cream e-liquid leaked out of my overfilled 306 DCA and made a 3 inch spot on a comforter on my bed:(

Any ideas on how to get the spot out? It's a cotton comforter. It's a king size so it won't fit in my washer and dryer. I'd have to take it to the Laundromat but would rather not if anyone has a way to spot treat it.

Actually Impressed By Xhaleo2

I've used my njoys for years and wanted something different but am too cheap to go after the good stuff. $20 on the xhale wasn't like buying most kits and if I was dissappointed ...oh well.

I tried one of its pre filled carts and after a few puffs it stopped working. Being a good dripper I gave it a good 3 drip prime and it came back to life in a big way. The njoys were never big producers of vapor but fuctioned. The Xhale is blowing them away. For what two batteries, a atty and changer cost me for a njoy kit on sale I can have 4 batteries, 4 attys and 4 chargers. I think I'll give these a chance.

I do like the small size and the case they come in. I don't like the juice or the fact the carts are glued into the mouth piece.

To their credit, the Njoys have been going for over two years. No dead attys and only one battery has died. I have a bunch of carts for them so I will still use them when I can't drip. ( driving, resturants, work, etc)

Someday I'll buy a real PV I promise.

Ego-C Atty Wick Replacement/placement

Hey Ego-C users!

Has anyone had issues with wicks being a tad too long or short?

How much wick do you guys like touching the coil? Do you even let it make contact?

Has anyone found a suitable replacement for damaged/broken wicks? And if so, how do you place them in the spike?

Rubbing alcohol, boiling, or just running under water to clean your wick/spike?

After cleaning do you feel that they have to be broken in again or do they work pretty well out of the gates? Do you experience a loss of flavor after cleaning your attys?

Just experimenting with some of my older/dying atties and seeing if I can play around with them some more. I have been just tossing and replacing after they give, but maybe someone knows of some other things.
