  1. Good info....hopefully it doesn't fall on deaf ears.
  2. PS: I blow crazy clouds in the lavatory though!!!! LOL
  3. My two cents: I have been vaping for almost 3 years and during that time I have been on several different airlines. I try to think about it vaping from someone else's perspective because I don't enjoy conflict. So for example, say you're a passenger on a flight who has no idea what an ecig is (many people still have no clue) and you see what looks like a huge plume of smoke 5 rows up. In our current state of "terrorism" high alerts that can freak someone out. They may think you're the next "shoe-bomber!!" I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's the current state of Mainstream Media and whatever MSM projects the general public ingests. So you and I know you are blowing essentially harmless vapor, but Grandma 4 rows back thinks you're BinLaden reincarnated (side note-he died years ago IMO) and freaks out. Do you really want to deal with all that drama??? Of course not. If you're like me, you stealth vape a lot in planes and typically non-smoking areas....simply to avoid hassle and misunderstandings.
  4. We putt my friend. I just hope that they don't use these new "regulations" to make it damn nearly impossible for some of the small guys to operate
  5. Before moving to ecigs over 2 years ago I smoked for almost 15 years. The last 5 years were probably my heaviest in terms of smoking. That being said I was fanatical about washing my hands to get rid of the smell (ar at least trying to) and brushing my teeth probably 4 or 5 times a day---very throughly---and using mouthwash of course and gum. So for the last 5 years of smoking I noticed that I was getting staining on the backside of my teeth. Fortunately it wasn't noticeable when I smiled, but it was still concerning. Now keep in mind that I scrubbed the HELL out of my teeth (yes even in the baksides,) but to to avail. I also drank coffee everday in the morning and convinced myself that was the problem. I would go to the dentist every 6 months to get it cleaned, but like clock-work it always came back. So then I finally converted to the ecig in late 2008 and literally I have never had any staining on my teeth since the last time they were cleaned after converting. Even the dentist made a comment about it. Of course I let her know why.
  6. You absolutely hit it on the head. There's a ton of disinformation out there cooked up by lobbyists and dispensed via the FDA. And your comments regarding aspartame are spot on. If anyone wants their mind blown. Google the history of aspartame. Its in nearly every diet soda and a TON of more products most of us consume without even knowing. It was deemed a poison (BY THE FDA) until the lobbyist got to Donald Rumsfeld and Reagan. It was subsequently approved. http://www.rense.com/general33/legal.htm The FDA is for sale. Too bad ecigs don't have the lobbying power of tobacco.
  7. Here is my concern and speculation: As we all know, the lungs seems to absorb nicotine differently in vapor than it does in smoke. A heavy cigarette advertises around 3mg nicotine concentration. To get your equalivalent nicotine fix with an ecig (me personally) I need around 20 to 25mg. I'm assuming its this loophole that allows unscrupulous ecig suppliers to say "Oooohh our 510 cartrdige is equivalent to a whole PACK of cigarettes!" ....which we all know is a load of sh**. Yeah, maybe the nicotine content is the same, but the volume of smoke and nicotine ingestion is NOWHERE near a pack of smokes on a standard cart or even a fully loaded carto. I can just see the FDA (using newfound regulation abilities) requiring eliquid and/or pre-filled carts be a maximum of 3mg nicotine. This could deem the product worthless for those of us that need a good nic fix. Sure there may be underground ways to mix your own stuff and increase dosage (if that's still legal under their new regulations,) but DIY eliquid is far too complicated for the avergae person trying an ecig for the very first time. I will try to stay positive about this, but something tells me this is the quiet before the storm and the FDA is relinquishing its court fight because its found a far better way to intervene. <<Fingers crossed I'm wrong>> Regardless, we've all got to stick together and make a loud ruckus. There is power in numbers. Great forum btw.
  8. I got a call from USPS on Monday asking me all kinds of questions about the products I am mailing to customers (ecigs and eliquids.) I guess they scanned some of my packages and opened one up. It was really odd. She started quoting a recent memo to postal employees regarding the illegal mailing of tobacco products. So of course we got into a debate about nicotine and wether my products contain tobacco. Eventually, I used the verbiage in the memo to quell her and she said she would get back to me as her memo did not specifically address "ecigs" or "nicotine." The timing seemed really odd though. Never had a problem, then ecigs become a "tobacco regulated product" and the postal service swoops in. Will post an update if I get a call from them again.
  9. I know this thread is a little old, but since you referenced our company I thought I should reply. My name is Jeremey and I own The Vapor Shoppe. We initially started as a mail-order only operation shipping from our Central Fl warehouse, but due to a significantly high number of requests we have opened up a delivery/meet up service for customers here in Central Fl that want to pick up their product immmediately (same day/face-to-face.) Unlike our local competitors (Oviedo Mall, Fairbanks, etc) that are forced to jack up their local prices to pay for overhead (rent, labor, etc), we honor our online prices on a local level. If you don't wish to have your product shipped and you're in the Orlando area, simply give us a call at 321-278-3122 or 800-370-2454. Let us know your order and we'll arrange a time and location to meet so you can get your supplies immediately. For noobs, we do on-site "try before you buy" demos at your business, residence or somewhere public like Starbucks. We show you how to use and maintain the device and allow you to try before you spend any money. For the vets just looking to re-up on some juice or cartos, just let us know what you need and where you want to meet and we'll deliver (Orlando area.) Again, I appreciate the mention in the thread and I'm a vaper myself so we only carry genuine products. No cheap flea-market knock-offs. Thanks, Jeremey 321-278-3122 admin@thevaporshoppe.com www.TheVaporShoppe.com
