  1. Congratulations - great accomplishment!
  2. Asking those using an Old Goat bottom-feeder - was wondering if any of you use VG only. If so - which OG did you purchase? 3.7 or 5 Been thinking about getting one for a while but unsure about the VG. And are LR atomizers the best to use?
  3. Off topic (a bit) but to keep the measurement on the outside of needle - maybe try clear nail polish! This has worked for years for my Pyrex measuring cups!
  4. My husband vapes NOTHING but their Caramel Tobacco 16% and so obviously loves it!!! The scent in the air is pretty good too!
  5. I have a carto for each flavour I use. When switching flavours, I reload the current carto, replace its condoms and attach to the flavour bottle with an elastic band. Works for me! Hope this helps.
  6. Well being in Canada - I did my e-mail a little differently. I only sent one - to the Governor of New York (Cuomo) as he was mentioned as the LAST signee. Hope I got the right name. Worded it as a tourist to the state, ex-smoker only because of vaping (when all else failed) and USA being the 'Land of Free' with so many privileges being 'big-brothered'. But I have a question for you - in your 'letter' I read 'I am a member of National Vapers Club' Where and how does one join this?
  7. Hi Aaronh - I also use those cartomizers with my ego. What I have found is: it depends on the thickness of the liquid as to how long they last! I do find myself 'dripping' into them more frequently than I like. I start with first fill of about 25 drops and after a few draws find I have to drip to keep it moist. Now - I think what my husband uses is better. He cannot see so I am the filler - he uses the XL ego cartomizer. He is a moderate vaper and I only fill it once per day for him with 1ml of liquid. He uses VG and one of these lasts 2 to 3 weeks on once a day 'needle' filling.
  8. Quote "I use a big fat embroidery needle to "fluff" the filler after drying too, which I thought for sure would be ripping out that wire too, but NOPE. It is amazing the abuse these supposedly "disposable" things can take." Sorry I am confused!! Thought you were using cartridges. Are you using cartridges or cartomizers? I have no 'wire' in what I call my cartos (probably wrong turn!). I use the 510 cartomizers and think your 'cleaning' method sounds great. 4th month vaping and still puzzling!! Then again I am a really slow learner!
  9. Thanks for the C of a Noob. So true and so funny. Brought back all my early stages and I know I have more experiences to go through. I chuckle at myself - do not even have a cell phone but thinking about getting a mod. Priorities, priorities!!! This vaping is such a wonderful world.
  10. Thank-you for this article! Have cut and pasted it and sent it to my provincial "BC Lung Association" Every article like this will hopefully help.
  11. To all you fabulous Vapor Talk Veterans - Thank-you for all your information and probably unknown support (as I am the resident lurker!) Both my husband and myself no longer use any tobacco products and this is totally amazing. A combined total of 108 years of smoking is over!!! Wishing you and yours the very best in 2011.
  12. Hi JJM - I'm in Canada too and also worried about customs. Taking a deep breath - I ordered from US suppliers and to date parcels arrived within less than 10 days - all stamped in and out of customs the same day. I have purchased nic liquid for DIY and several mixed and the ego. Depending on how many analogs you smoke each day - no nic might be a challenge. I smoked at least 1 1/2 packs a day and started at 16 and am now down to 8; others start higher. Oh - and most paid for shipping is $15 and some shipped free depending on size of order. Here are VT - ordered and shipped the same day and received is 8 days. Hope this helps.
  13. In the smoking (cigar)room on a cruise in August a young couple from Oklahoma said I was coughing too much!!! and out of her purse came a Joye510!! I was amazed that such a product existed - but living in the forests of Canada I do get behind knowledge of modern devices!!! To make a long story short - I researched and researched AGAINST my husband's opinion and found this wonderful, informative site. Thank-you Vapor Talk. I have been vaping since October 1st, no smokes since mid-October and believe it or not my husband is now vaping since mid-October!!! We are ages 67 and 74, both smoked for 50+ years each, saving about $600 a month!!! I do not count all my new products as a cost - they have changed our lives.
  14. Got most of my needed 'supplies' and still collecting fav flavours!! Nervous about starting and at the same time excited. Being in Canada - shipments are getting here from US but nervous about customs every time. Enough rambling!! Have looked at two online calculators and today found one myself - probably not new to experienced DIYers but I found this one really user friendly and thought I would pass the site on. It downloaded quickly and easily to my computer. Try the site: ejuice.breaktru.com and once loaded Click File, OPen and there are lots of recipes.
