  1. The AG of Virginia has issued and opinion that clearly states that electronic cigarettes are NOT included in the Virginia Smoking Ban. Way to go Virginia!!! Now if only the rest of the politicians out there would educate themselves as well as he did.... Washington Post Article
  2. I have been using the Kr8 cartomizers for a while now. I love cartomizers for driving and when dripping would be inconvenient. I got my first 510 cartomziers almost a month ago. I ordered the smaller foam covered ones. They didn't hold much liquid but they worked beautifully! Shortly after I found the larger hard ones. They hold lots of liquid and also work beautifully! I didn't expect there to be so much difference between the Kr8 ones and the 510 ones but there is. In fairness the Kr8 ones are in transition now as many 'premium' models are coming to the marketplace so my preference could change. This is a great time of evolution for PVs. I can hardly wait to see what is next!
  3. I agree... and thus, dispelling some of the myths and hearsay should be of primary importance to all of us! Whether someone wants to try them or thinks they are silly doesn't really matter. If they think they are worse than or as bad as cigarettes that is another thing entirely! I believe that we should all try to defend our position when it comes to our health and we should try to calmly, rationally, and logically inform those who are ignorant of the truth regarding PVs. In short they are a life saver!
  4. Now that it is over I just want to say how wonderful Vapefest 2010 was! I had a fantastic time and can't even begin to express how great it was to meet so many people who are so passionate about vaping! I have never seen such a motivated and enthusiastic group of folks!
  5. Great video Doctor! I hope someone sent an e-mail to her show with a link to this video? Anyone know it if has been done already?
  6. I'm not pushy about my PV... but when I go out for the evening I normally take four Kr8s with different color cartomizers and flavors and put them in a rocks glass on my table. Anyone is welcome to come over and try one! I've been doing this for around four months now. I also keep a couple of disposable kits with me and a few new bottles of liquid (tobacco and menthol flavors.) If someone shows interest I tell them I have a disposable kit they can buy to try it if they would like. I charge what I paid for them... no profit... just a service. I have 'sold' over two dozen kits at this point. Almost all of my smoking friends have PVs as well now. Some have quit smoking completely. Some still smoke some. Only two have given up on PVs and are back to cigarettes only. I have one friend who wouldn't even try my PV when he first saw it almost five months ago. He scoffed at it and teased me about it. Last night while I was out he came over and sat down and before he even said 'Hello' he asked what flavors I had brought and tested each one in turn and gave me his opinion! I'm pretty sure that he will eventually get one himself. Some people just need more time than others. And some need more help. And some will probably never take to it. But I'm going to do my part to spread the word!
  7. You might have. But I wouldn't worry about it one way or the other. Just order another one or two. These things are all disposable and won't last forever. I like to think of them like batteries (Sounds silly, I know, but we tend to forget that even rechargeable batteries don't last forever. Think about cell phones!) and light bulbs. The batteries are... ummm... like batteries and the atties are like light bulbs. Neither is expected to last forever and you don't really ever know when one is going to go out on you. Keep some spares and don't stress too much when they die.
  8. I adore it! Very elegant looking. My only objection is the word 'analogs.' I would much prefer it say 'cigarettes.' That would make it clear that I do not smoke cigarettes of any kind! I do vape... not the same thing at all.
  9. Mine died on me after less than two weeks. Since I only used it for maybe 30 minutes a night... well, it seemed to have not held up well. I do have a multi-meter and traced it to the positive connection. Somewhere from the battery to the connector the line was broken. I imagine that one of the solder joints failed. I returned it and am expecting a replacement soon. If it were older and beyond warranty I would have disassembled it and I would be able to give a more precise diagnosis.
  10. I use a 70/30 PG/VG blend. I like the throat hit from PG. And VG give added vapor and some sweetness but it tends to 'eat' flavorings.
  11. I have mixed it with Banana flavoring. I like it. I'm weird!
  12. Cake decorating and candy supply stores both normally carry them. And if you can't find them there, Happy Vaper carries them. Jack at Happy Vaper has fantastic customer service!
  13. I consider all atties to be like light bulbs. They all go eventually and you won't ever really know when to expect it. I have atties from lots of sources, including Innovapor and all are still going strong. I do believe I have been lucky with my atties. I clean them with vodka. I also do periodic short dry burns. I use my M401s for testing liquid flavors so some of them get washed very often. I know that other people have good luck without cleaning them at all. My theory is that, just like light bulbs, there are a number of things that can reduce their lifespan. If they are over-heated, subjected to thermal shock, or dropped their life expectancy will decrease. In my opinion the build up of crud on the atty is bound to shorten their life... and some liquids produce more crud than others. These are my opinions! I haven't done any detailed studies to substantiate my comments.
  14. My liquids change color over time even when the temperature isn't extreme. Not all flavors change the same way. Some go more yellow and some go orangish. And some stay nearly colorless. Many times the flavor seems to develop as the color changes until it stabilizes. I much prefer Caramel that has aged for a week over freshly made Caramel. My experiences with store bought liquids isn't nearly as extensive. But I have noticed that there is sometimes some color change there as well. Again, the flavor doesn't seem to degrade but rather improves as this happens. Of course, my experiences and the experience of others may differ!
  15. I clean my atties with high proof vodka when I need to get rid of flavors. I use an o-ring and syringe for 510s and cartomizers and a large McDonalds straw for M401 atties. For the M401 atties I put the straw over the bridge end then suck and blow the vodka through the atty. Be sure not to suck too hard! You don't want to get any of that nasty stuff in your mouth. Both the syringe and the straw work very well for me!
