  1. I started out using 26mg to keep the cravings down to a dull roar. After my system starting getting rid of the toxins from tobacco I found 11mg to be perfectly adequate for daily vaping. I keep a cart loaded up with 26mg for those times when I get an overwhelming desire to "light up". A few hits from that and I put the 11mg cart back on.
  2. I still use my first 510 starter kit. I purchased five spare atty's and one of them runs way hotter than the rest. This has pretty much ruined any desire for HV mod's, as I don't like the taste or harshness. Long Live the 510 ! .
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone. Since I'm not a chemist I will stick to distilled water and just get used to it.
  4. I Think BigXor would be great!!
  5. There are some PV Mod's with safety vents designed into them. Personally I have had too many high energy storage components blow up near me while in design and testing phase, such as batteries and big electrolytic capacitors. High energy batteries are prone to failure far more than the little ones in the PV's. Having a couple of those big high energy batteries in my face is just too scary for me. I speak of energy and not voltage. Energy = Power. Ohm's law states that (watts or power)=amps X voltage. For example the standard 510 battery is 130mah. The typical resistance of the atty filament is 2.5 ohms. So the 510 draws (I=E/R) 3.7v / 2.5ohm = 1.48amps, the battery is rated for .13amps so the atty draws 11.38 times greater amps than the batteries designed rating. That's 4.7 watts from a .42 watt battery Anyway that is why the batteries discharge in 30-60 mins. I've discharged them in less than 15 mins chain vaping. That's scary enough for me and I'm willing to risk it. Vape On!
  6. If your using an unmodified 510 and the battery fails it will blow out the LED and vent forward. Unfortunately these ridiculous super mod's are not designed by electrical engineers and don't take into account the possibility of battery failure and provide proper forward venting. Protected batteries can stop overcharging and undervolting, but cannot do a thing about an internal chemical short. An internal chemical short will instantaneously cause massive overheating and the pressure will blow out the ends of the battery. This pressure must be able to escape the housing of the device or BOOM. You can take a firecracker and put into your open palm and receive a burn, but close your fingers around it and you won't have to worry about using those fingers ever again. Electrical Engineer Replying. P.S. As pretty as they are I have no desire to purchase a PV Mod. I like my 510 (and my teeth). P.P.S. I am not belittling the unfortunate victim, just telling "ROOR" not be to concerned about the 510.
  7. I can't vape PG because it gives me a wicked headache almost immediately. I use VG exclusively, but do use some PG for TH (no more than 10%). I can feel the headache coming on with 10% PG but it doesn't fully realize. I know Pure Grain Alcohol works but you can't buy it in Pennsylvania. I really don't want to use vodka or anything like that. Ethyl Alcohol cannot be purchased anywhere unless it contains some additive that makes it undrinkable. Any of you DIY'ers have have good safe way to increase TH with VG other than increasing nic strength or adding PG?
  8. I mix my own juice to find the sweet spot. When I first started to vape the urge to smoke was not satisfied unless I vaped 26-30mg. After a couple weeks I'm vaping 18-20mg. Anything higher causes a nic overload which is unpleasant feeling. As far as the PV goes; as long as the vapor and TH are satisfied, I find no urge to change. Beside I'm cheap and don't want to splurge on equipment that may very well end up in my junk drawer. .
  9. Yeah, explaining vaping to a hard core non-smoker is like trying to explain mathematics to the village idiot.
  10. Stories like this not only remind me of the benefits of not smoking, but also the lingering smell that marks a smoker.
  11. Ex-smokers are the most anal-retentive non-smokers there are. Sorry to here you have one. Looks like your stuck out in the cold because of him. I quit one time for three years and smokers never bothered me. I certainly never had a nic withdrawal from being around one. .
  12. In my Mothers house. Story: My Mother is a hard core non-smoker and has never allowed me to smoke in her house. Even long before the "quit Smoking" frenzy started many years ago. I wound up permanently disabled from a car wreck and had to move back in with her. She does not know I vape and still thinks I go outside on my balcony for a smoke. I have been vaping in my own room now for three weeks and still feel like a total sneak thief. She has never caught on even when I chain vape fruity liquids. This stuff is great, no smell. Anyway, I will never be able to disclose to her the difference in using a Personal Vaporizer for a couple reasons; 1. If she see's what looks like smoke than it is smoke, and 2. the PV is wrongfully labeled an e-cigarette, implying they are cigarettes that run on batteries. .
  13. I have to disagree: For myself I was a 1 pack a day full flavor smoker for more than 35 years. I also participated in a poll on a different vaping forum that showed the majority of converts were 1 to 2 pack a day 25+ years. These people, myself included are the most desperate to quit smoking. I feel vaping is a cigarette alternative that will probably save me the hassle of lugging around an oxygen bottle or cancer. No guarantees though. I've also found reading 100's of threads on many forums that it is impossible to categorize who is the "most likely to switch to vaping". Vape On !
  14. It's so easy to use the PV as a stress or boredom reliever that I find myself chain vaping. I've found that chain vaping will make my lungs sore. I then back down. .
