Those dual coil cartomizers have been working well when used in an e-liquid tank. I've been using them in both the LIquinator and the J-Tank. They duallies work very well for those applications. By themselves, eh, They tend to run hot, and I've experienced a burning taste with it that way.

    Hello Everyone,

Its been quite a while since I've been on these Forums, maybe almost a whole year. I can't remember why I stopped posting, but I still remember all of you- well, the old timers anyhow.

I still vape, all day, everyday. I still have my old Mods, some broken, some still working. I guess you could say I stopped posting because my exploration phase of using e-cigs ended, and I've just sort of settled in on what I like.

I still keep up on the industry firsts when I can. I still watch YouTube videos when I catch wind of something new. I still convert friends and acquaintances to vaping--I'm still one of you! I just haven't been active on the Forums anymore.

I suppose it was when I realized that I had been vaping for two years now, I started to feel nostalgic. I found my old 510 starter kit and used it for a while. I was a very quick trip down memory lane, but I brought out my old Mods and charged up the batts and used them for a bout a day each, then went back to my Icon.

Then I thought of all of you. I remember all the fun I had posting when we were all discovering the vaping culture and forming what it has become today. This is my greeting to all who remember the pioneer days; without the Drip Shields, Drip Tips, Tanks, big battery mods, and low resistance atomizers.

I've been out of the loop for so long, I no longer feel comfortable commenting on the new inventions. I'll still give advice, but it only comes from experience. I hope to come back here and be a part of your circle again.

    Cheers to all,

    Tektronik

    Hey Chris,

The only topic I've been following since I've been away were your announcements. I've been seeing them in e-mail, and now I see the what you've done to the place. Thanks for keeping the forum alive and well. Even with the new look, I still sense some of the old FEEL, and I want to commend you on that. I'll be retiring from the Air Force in one year and moving back to San Diego. Hopefully, someday we'll cross paths and talk about your outstanding achievements all beginning with this Forum.

You are doing Fine! Its a learning curve that everyone who drips will experience. Become ONE with your atomizer. As soon as you start to taste even a hint of burnt-add two or three more drops. When you get a whole LOT of vapor, that means you have about two or three more drags before the burnt taste. Add three more drops. Heat is bad. Its like firing a rifle more than three times in semi auto, the barrel gets real hot. Same with the LR atty. Juice will run out of the holes. You will find balance. Use the force...

I don't even remember why I stumbled upon this forum. I think it was because I was doing research for my first MOD. I settled on the VP2 and was looking for reasons not to buy it. I couldn't find any after lurking around here. No WAIT....that's not it. I joined back in November of last year cuz i was looking for a better model of e-cig than my crappy SMOKESTIK. Oh yeah, that's right... It was after seeing a few videos of Christopher on ENS doing some reviews of the 510 and some other smaller one with an exposed wick bridge. I think that led me here to do some exploring.

When I really started getting serious about Vaping it was everybody here that really made me make the switch. This is one heck of a family of supporters with a common cause. Everybody here is courteous, considerate, amusing, and respectful. This forum is the second place i visit after my emails (because I follow a few threads here and it always leads me here anyhow) and is my little getaway from my busy life.

What I'd like to see improved here is a new SubForum. It can be labeled something like "E-Cigarette Science" or "The Science of Vaping", or "Vaping Science", or whatever, just put the word "Science" in it. It would be nice to have this thread as a dedicated repository of all things electronics related that pertain to e-cigs. What makes this SubForum different from the rest is that only Moderators and Admins can post to this forum. Basically, when a thread is created in any of the other SubForums and after the discussion is pretty much closed out, It is verified for accuracy and placed there. This will give everybody who wants to know things like "Ohms Law", or how to figure out your wattage, or how to tell how much current your particular atomizer model requires to bring the circuit to equilibrium, or what are the particular characteristics of different batteries......stuff like that. It's a whole mess to try to remember, and stuff like this would be much easier to find if it was all in one place--after the information has been verified for its accuracy, of course. This would give noobs a place to start reading up and getting to know the science of their new hobby, the circuit nerds a place to store all of their mental brain matter when it leaks out all over the forums, and for the battery geeks (Brandon), a place to find his truly overwhelming but absolutely useful insights from his research. Plus its great for guys like myself who love to tinker, but are not gonna remember everything because life gets in the way.

If I had the time for chat, I would, but man, there's so much I have to do once I get home from work! I would do reviews of my own, hangout in the video chat, but sadly, this is about as much as i can do when time permits.

When I got in the mail, I cleaned out the atty contact. It was all gunked up, , so I used some denatured alcohol to clean it out. Pulled out a bunch of crap that was in there. I used my own attys and that's when I noticed the flickering LED. Tried different Attys and the same thing happened.

When my dad called me and told me what was happening, I told him to go back to his OEM 510 for a few days. I then went out to the garage and built him a plastic box mod. That afternoon I mailed it out along with two Magnums, (4) 14500 trustfires and a charger and one Delrin drip tip. That should hold him over till i get this fixed. Don't want him to go back to smoking; he doesn't either

It freaks me out every time that happens! I can't seem to duplicate the condition and make it do it on purpose, but when it backfires I jump every time. It's like you already put vacuum pressure in the chamber when you take a draw, but for the thing to suddenly burst air into your mouth is unnatural. It has never happened to me with smaller, OEM units. It has happened to me with the VP2 and a low res atty and more often with my XHaler at high volts and it does't matter if I use a 901 or 501 atty-regular of high voltage style. Yeah I'd also be interested to know just what's happening inside the chamber!
