Whats up all. In order to get you folks to know be better I thought I'd share my entire story. Its long so feel free to skip it and just know Im a vapor and I like to hang out and talk to other vapors. So hi to you all and see you around in the forums.

Here is my story as to how I became one of those 11,000 non-smokers belonging to this forum. Perhaps the story can inspire future non-smoker forum member 11,001

Im 37 and had been smoking since I was 18. I smoked about a pack a day for all those years. None of my family smoked so I really kinda felt bad about doing it. I avoided my family more than I would have if I had not smoked. Its sad to think about. Yes I still saw them but I did not enjoy those days as much as I could have because I spent most of the time just wanting a cigarette. I never did smoke around any of my family members and never talked about it.

Then I got married 5 years ago to a non smoker. While she was tolerant she was of course not supportive. We bought a new house and now I was relegated to a tiny basement room where I would smoke and play Xbox Live with some of my out of state friends from the past. While I had a good time down in that basement room I really felt like these stupid cigarettes were actually separating me from my wife. We got along great and were happy but I know every evening when I said "Im heading off into the basement" she was disappointed to see me go, and so was I.

Finally one day I saw an ad for electronic cigarettes. Well being the age I am and being internet savvy the first thought that came to mind was search the net for the real deal. Find a forum where real people talk about them and give advice. This was in mid 2010, At the time there was not a lot of viable devices on the market but there was the ego/Kgo and the ones that still looked like cigarettes. Everyone gave me advice not to use the auto cig imitations but get the ego. I bought both. The ego gave me fits initially with the crappy cartridges we were using back then and the juice I bought was horrible. The little auto battery cig imitations just kind of sucked and eventually stopped working. I was trying to balance cigarette smoking and vaping at the same time while telling myself to wean off of the cigs. Well what happened is I weened off of vaping.

Fast forward to November 23, 2010. My first child Jacob was born. This was the best day of my life and changed me forever. Dumb me however kept smoking. I still couldnt quit. Having a new born and being tied to smoking was a real pain. Id sneak out on the front porch hoping he would enjoy his swing or hang in his bed thing long enough for me to have a smoke. Then every time I wanted to hold him I would have to hurry and wash my hands and change my shirt. I went through a lot of shirts lol. Every time we would go out I would not smoke and spent the time craving going home to have a smoke. I felt so tied to smoking. It began to get worse and worse for me. Still trying to go down stairs and smoke while the wife was upstairs playing with our baby was making me feel not so good about things.

Thats when I decided to quit smoking for good. I went back to the same forum I started at and ordered some new supplies. Cartomizers were the big hit. Saw EpipeMods and their hand crafted wood pipes. I knew this had to be it for me.

This is the part where I tell how I finally quit and perhaps it may help someone else. First off I made the decision in my head that I was not going to smoke another cig again, EVER! I was going to make this the most concerted effort to quit that I have ever put forward (Ive tried many many times). Once I got that in my head I spent the next two days without a cigarette. It was a very difficult two days. Like extremely bad. The difference this time was I knew I had a secret weapon, my PV. This time around I looked at the PV differently. Instead of something to wean me off of cigs and hopefully eventually become my preferred method I looked at that PV as a life vest that I could use at my most needed times. I told myself this is it, this is as good as its going to get. Either I make this PV work for me, at any cost, or I just quit cold turkey. Well, in the end I made the PV work. I spent a ton of money trying different delivery methods, devices and juice all while telling myself this was my only option. I just want people out there to know that if you try hard enough, and spend enough, you can find something that will work for you.

Well today I have a 19 month old little boy. I spend my evenings playing with him. Shooting hoops or kicking a ball around. I hold him anytime I want and hug him every chance I get. I have not had a cigarette in over a year. Not a single one since March 31, 2011, the last time I smoked.

I feel like I have gained so much more than improved health. I feel like Im more connected to my family. I visit my parents for entire weekends now without going through the cravings for cigs. I feel truly liberated and blessed. I still wear clothes with cigarette holes in them. I still never cleaned out the ashtray in my truck. What these PV's did for me was amazing and truly changed my life.

Not many of you have read this enormous post and I dont blame you one bit. But for those that did I know the best kind of book has at least one picture to go with, so here goes
